Timliu92 we have to take into consideration too that an artist like him wouldnt want to show other artists about this because he'd feel judged or not belonging with them at the top. So it really takes a lot of guts to do that. it inspired me a lot and respect him for that
He is just tired of people saying "wow you are so talented/lucky". Imagine you put a lot of sweat into smth and people say it's just talent.

@Emily Riggs yeah he started playing at age 11 then started making songs a year later and never stopped. He also said that he never put the guitar down,he would play it in the morning before school,then he played it at the school breaks,then came home and played it until he went to sleep. He also said he made 2 songs everyday so he did that for 4 years then left home when he was 16 to make a name for himself and the rest is history. So I don’t think just anyone can make it,you have to live and breathe it like Ed. He has the hardest work ethic out of anyone I can think of and he deserves everything he has. I’m so proud of him.
@Emily Riggs it also sounds like his voice was breaking. I’m 18 and I’m still using that as an excuse for my car crash singing. I still get voice cracks tho lol
@@tonyhollerz6958 Every singer knows voice cracks are normal. Every singer you love and listen too, voice had cracked at some point. Mostly in private though it's not a uncommon thing when your experimenting with new sounds. It's actually healthy for your voice because cracking protects you. Your voice wants to switch gears.

I’m a therapist and I find myself sending this video to clients quite often who are disheartened at the moment. Especially if they are Sheeran or music fans. I love the message that we can do great things when we work hard and that the effort is worth it 💕 Love Ed!

Ngl this has given me a lot of hope as a singer. Many people have said that I should never "sing" but fuck them all!
This video actually taught me a lot, since i saw this a year ago i started practicing singing every day. In 2016 i did a talent show and i got 3rd, 2 days ago when a lot more people were in the talent show, including me, i won. Practice is everything!

As I watched this I slowly sunk lower in my chair until I fell off of it because of Ed's voice back then.
WOW! he's sooo inspiring! honestly I NEVER would have guessed that he sounded like that back then. it's a misconception I hear from lots of folks these days saying "that folks are born with natural talent." well I think ed sheeran just proved them wrong. it just goes to show hard work and perseverance really pays off 😆

To be fair, he must've been about 14 years old when he recorded this since that's about the age he started recording. Wouldn't that age be part of the reason his voice isn't great and breaks?

Right after I watched this, I immediately watched a bunch of “how to sing” videos on TH-cam and just worked on myself for months on end. I can now confidently say that whenever I sing, people are almost always pleasantly surprised by me. I’m not the best singer in the world, but to know that I can actually sing provided I give enough grit and hard work - it made a part of me happy

There's a unspoken rule in the music biz "NEVER show your flaws, always make it look effortless". That's part of the magic of showbiz in general. Truthfully everyone who's made it worked their ass off to get where they are. Ed was a excellent singer many years before he broke through to become the superstar he is today, but he's secure enough to reveal that he was not born with this gift he's developed for himself.
