1 video 2 shots very informative video about starting vehicles after a long gap along with what happened to your R1 .
Could have informed about why the beast has been neglected 😅.
Love your info videos next to your Moto vlogs with running commentary.

Nice video. Sad to see that you didn't crank her up for six months. I know how much pain it is to get parts for big bike in India. Currently I own a Hornet 919 in Taiwan and its so much pain to get parts when something breaks. Have to be so much patient apart from spending so much $$$$. Good to see ya riding her again. I'm also from Hyderabad.

About the Front Brake, pistons not ceased? Fuel Injected / or carb, hopefully fuel conditioner was used. - warm the engine with a room warmer for a few minutes after your final prep ( checkk bolt tightness, etc - ) and before first start. It will allow the oil to relax to coat the engine parts and vapor buildup in the manifold for a good start. For my Japanese straight 4, I use a room warmer. It saves cranking down the battery.

    Great video brother!!!
I would also recommend you to add some lubricant in the cylinder as, the oil film on the cylinder walls as the oil will drip into the crankcase... This can be done by removing the sparkplug and adding lubricant directly into the cylinder..while cranking, due to the reciprocating action of the piston the lubricant would have coated the cylinder wall well...preventing metal to metal contact of the cylinder and piston..
Forgetting to do this step can cause scratching on the cylinder walls which would lead to compression leak and increase in engine blowby...reducing performance slowly.... Thanks
    Happy riding

Of course it starts, it’s a Yamaha!
Jokes aside, you got lucky it still ran when you switched off the choke. Sometimes the carbs get clogged by old gas which turns to varnish inside the tiny passageways.
Also, if you make it a habit to hook your battery to a smart charger (eg Battery Tender) at the end of each ride, it will keep it healthy and prevent sulfation, which usually means needing to buy a new battery.

Vikas get FCR 41mm carbs for your R1, it will make more power and awesome intake sound. Your exhaust system can be 4 into 2 as there is no oxygen sensor in the exhaust system. This way you will have higher gas flow at higher RPM rev range.

Clutchless up shifts require good timing however its the same for down shifts, but you need to rev match to match the engine speed with the speed of your transmission. To train old fuel in most carburator bikes there is a little Allen key screw at the very bottom of the carbs that holds the fuel in the bowl screw it to the left till it starts to drain fuel outnof the hole. I would recommend to get a quick shifter installed just becuase computers will always be faster than the human brain bad timing will destroy your transmission.

It's been years. The fog lights were stolen, multiple interested parties contact me for price, it's now a fixture.
Gonna go start it up now and maybe finally sell it for chump change or rather just give it to someone in need.

Hi Vikas bro, I need to ask u an advise about how to store a motorcycle for about 2 years. What all things to be done taking care of to keep it idle for the long 2 years. I will be going abroad for that much time...

yes please make a video on that...I might have plans to go abroad too and the fact that i will be putting my bike to rest for such a long time saddens me...I'm worried whether keeping it off for a few years will spoil the engine so I hope to get some vital tips from you!..

Bro the case with me is that, I too left my duke 390 untouched for about 5 months but everything was just fine. The only problem is that there is an annoying sound always at the range of 4000 to 5000 rpm at the area of the back wheel which even the service guys were not able to find out. even my bike is from the first lot of 390s that came to India. Pls help...

Hey vikas! How are you doing! I just saw this video after I tried starting my cousin's avenger bike which I brought from Bangalore due to lock down way back in May 8, 2020 ( almost 4 months)... Unfortunately didn't take it out even once and parked like that... Today when I tried starting, it dint start.... Was wondering if you would like to make a video by helping out by putting the battery charging and helping to start this? I stay at Madinaguda, chandanagar.....
