I loved the show. I've been in an abusive relationship that I tolerated for a while. Why? Because I honestly didn't know I was suffering from Adverse Childhood effects. I grew up in a very Lovely home with both parents and there was no violence. I didn't lack anything so I can't say that I suffered from poverty effects. My parents way of showing affection was providing for us making sure we didn't lack anything coz they came from poverty. This means they didn't have time to meet our emotional needs. We thought our parents were just old school that's why we never talked about emotions or Love. To me it was a normal home. The Narcissistic relationship is the one that made me realize i have Childhood Emotional Neglect(Cen) that i need to work on. It was the missing link to why my relationships don't last and problematic friendships. All this i have discovered at the age of 29 and I have Embarked on the healing journey. So NOT all of us are dummies for staying in abusive relationships. I honestly didn't know that there is a part of me I need to heal despite growing up in a good home. Even the bible says my people perish for lack of knowledge. So Benjamin kuwa mpole kidogo na sisi, the intro to this video just stung me.
