Hi Sara- been watching your channel for a while and I'm currently studying for BEC :( I hate this section. I want it over! UGH. But hey don't put too much weight into the scoring of your mock exams. You have said you are using Becker, I am using Wiley but I got a 55 on my mock exam for FAR and I passed with a 78. I also had a 63 for my mock REG exam but passed with an 84. I heard a great tip for mock exams: just go through them as quick as possible. Obviously stop to do calculations when needed but don't get stuck - just guess and move on. After the mock exam is over, spend some quality time reviewing EVERY question and the correct answers, whether you knew you got it right or just guessed. I think this helped me tremendously. Good luck on BEC!! Will be waiting to cheer you on.
I'm so glad for you that it's over for a while. I understand exactly what you are going through. I've taken the courses several times for my CPB. I've done extremely well in the classes. But I just can't force myself to sit for the exams. I panic. You have my complete respect doing this.
I know you're surprised that I watched the whole video but I wrote the CPA exams in Canada and I like seeing the similarities and differences with your experience. I also like watching your work videos because I like my profession but it inspires me to have more passion for it!
I tell every intern I work with to never study for the CPA exams while working full time and do it right after school. I agree with your statement 100% on that.
Ahmad Anabtawi I would set a study schedule and stick to it. I would stay after working hours and lock myself in the conference room with only my study materials. In order not to burn myself out I would try to study every other day.
I passed the BEC last quarter. I finished my test in the last 30 seconds. Definitely, BEC is the easiest part among the other three, but it's a difficult exam. I will take FAR in a few days and it's my last one. We will see the score on the same day! GOOD LUCK!
Worst case scenario you have a rough idea what you need to review and how close you already are, best case you pass! Either way, enjoy that two week break 👏
Sara Marie gotcha. im in wisconsin and got my last score, REG, back tonight, 81 after 3 fails of 68, 67, and 73. BEC score from august 2017 was in jeopardy, man that wouldve sucked! This test really is grueling and can really make you feel helpless if you dont have friends doing it with you, so thank you for sharing your story as you go, Im sure its helping others push through their own testing. Pro tip: If you fail a test and retake it the next window, HIGH LIKELIHOOD you get several of the same SIMS the next time. And the time after that if you fail again, super frustrating cause you can re-study a topic but you still dont know THE answer and if you got it right or wrong previously.
I hope you passed. I can agree that BEC has this misconception as the "easy" test but I found that not to be true at all. BEC may have the least amount of material but I would say it had the most math intensive problems from any of the exams.
