Everyone watch Firefly guy set the dry at 7:41. Note the intentional delay between the initial eat and the hookset. If you set immediately, as you would when nymphing, you'll simply pull the fly out of the trout's mouth. The delay is to allow the trout to start to dive with the fly, so that a raised rod tip troutset will sink the hookpoint in the scissors of the jaw. But, if you delay too much, the trout will have tasted your fake bug and spit it.
I been watching your videos on and off for a couple years! I only get to fish Idaho once a year (first week of October for steelhead) i live in Las vegas, so is a long drive, never caught a bully. Can you point me out to where or what area with out naming specific river 😉 should i try my look at this time of the year?...
Hey man I’m a new fly fisherman and I’m having trouble catching fish and what nymphs to use, I used a double nymph rig all day today and didn’t get one bite I’m having trouble identifying good body’s of waters to double nymph fish and don’t know how I should August the strike indicated or the little split shot, thanks and please give me some tips and suggestions
Nymphing is the best way to catch trout! Double nymphing is great. I love fishing jigged nymphs myself, usually around size 14-18, my favorite being size 16. Pheasant tails, Walt’s worms, and Perdigons will catch you fish anywhere, anytime of year. Keep fishing, you’ll find them!!
That is my waterproof pack great for fishing gear and camera gear by backcountry skinz! If you decide to pick one up use my code: firefly15 to save you some $ 🙌
Back when I was in high school, my family visited Marineland around L.A. and Sea World in San Diego. They both had the Orca whale shows. Don't know if either one is still around today. Seems like the animal rights people were always trying to shut them down.
That would be SeaWorld at your 12:45 mark. Torturer of orcas, dolphins, and other highly intelligent WILD marine mammals that they capture from the open ocean then imprison in tiny concrete enclosures so we can take our kids to their "shows" where the orcas are trained to jump and splash the audience. Truly sick.
How are these so underrated 😂. Such great videos!!
Thanks so much man!
I can’t get out fly fishing as much as I wish I could. Glad you continue to post these videos, keep it up! 👏🏼

It’s recommended try next year. This next weekend is going to be my last weekend, targeting bull trout! Send me a message on Instagram or email.
