Maraming salamat po for watching my videos! ❤️😊 And yes, tailorbirds have a lovely song. That one is a Gray-backed Tailorbird, btw, not green-backed as mentioned in the ep.
Salamat po. We don’t have Bald Eagles here in the Philippines but we do have a lot of other eagle species, including of course our National Bird, the majestic Philippine Eagle..
A pair of tailorbirds would often sing outside my window looking for small spiders. The male sings in a variety of melodic calls, while the female coos a repetitive song. There’s another bird I hear everyday among the mango trees. I have yet to see it. The song is also a repetitive high to low notes and sounds like a “hu, hu, hu, hu, hu” crying. One time, I heard it sing from 7pm and was surprised to hear it still singing at around 3am when i rose to go to the toilet. Amazing stamina for a night songbird.
Tailorbirds are very vocal birds they’re easily heard than seen.. I personally am not great with bird sounds. I feel like i get easily confused with the seemingly similar sounds 😅
Sir my daughter has a Nikon p950 that I can barrow, Is that good for birding? I carry he r old canon small 50x zoom which I use in my nature routes when looking out for poachers and loggers. Is that enough? 50meters I can get decent shots with it in bright light. Near dusk and dawn it’s grainy and has lots of noise.
I havent used bridge cameras pa po but i believe nikon p950 is good if not more than enough na for birding. Base sa research ko it can zoom up to 2000mm (35mm format). For comparison I’m only using D500 with 500mm lens (that’s 750mm in 35mm format).
May mga books tayo about philippine birds like A Naturalist’s Guide to the Philippine Birds (280 birds) at Birds of the Philippines (complete lists). Di ko lang sure kung may nabibili sa mga bookstore pero sa online you can try Haring Ibon foundation. Kung online source naman you can try ebird.org. Explore mo lang ang philippines and you can get a list of all the birds na pwedeng makita sa atin. You can also join fb groups like Birdwatch Philippines Community. And syempre you can check my FB page as well- Ferdz Binuya Birding TV. To help you ID’ng birds, try Merlin Bird ID app..
@@FerdzBinuyaBirdingTV Thank you po!
Tapos yung adult babalik ulit pag breeding na and so on.. yung nakikita mo siguro mixed adult at juvenile/immature.
I love the song of the tailorbird! Thank you for this video!

Is this park already open?
