    Thorough review and great as usual. This has me breaking out my old cube and placing an order for Cube3.

    @magicorthodoxy I'm coming at this from the opposite end of the spectrum: I started speed solving competitions with my son, learned how to solve the cube in about 45 seconds, and now I'm looking into how to do magic tricks with the cube. I'm glad you mentioned that the cube is a regular speedcube and a good chunk of the video is learning how to solve it- I already have those down. Not sure if the $35 would be worth it for me just to learn a couple of tricks on a plain cube, but I very much appreciate the review!

    I had a Rubik's Cube back in the 80's but could never solve it. About a year or so ago, I was clearing out some old boxes and found it. I thought cube magic it hot right now, perhaps I should learn some and add it to my act. so far I still haven't gotten around to doing any cube magic, I'm having WAY too much fun with speed solves LOL

      Where are you learning speeds solves

      magicorthodoxy I use CFOP, I pieced it together from TH-cam videos, forum posts, and a few download pdfs. It's great fun ;^>

      CFOP?

      Cross, First two layers, Orientation of the last layer, Permutation of the last layer. It’s more commonly (slightly less accurately) called the Friedrich method.

    I started my cube magic journey with this. His teaching on the normal solve is easy to understand. Took me a few months of practice to get down to 1min, and I've been stuck on around 50 secs now. I suppose you need to learn the F2L method to progress to better times...
    Though I don't own anything like Rubik's Dream, I do use a set of cards called 'Cube Cards' by Kev G. It's a matching effect, a 'speed solve' effect with a cool 'card trick' style kicker. You should take a look. It's good for close up, as you only need 1 cube and the set of cards...

    Hey David I’m ready to purchase this, however I do have a question. You mentioned the magic store/site you go through provided you instant access to the tutorial vids. I’m a speed cuber and too would like to jump into the teachings after purchase. I go thru Penguin’s site, is that the site you went through, if so great, if not would you mind sharing what sight so I can start learning today, thanks!

    I like your review. I got one as a gift and this is like a real Rubik cube and I agree with your comments, the audio was lousy.
    The paper bag trick was a plus.

    What a good review! As usual. I bought this a little while ago but I'm terrified to start mixing it up. I have an old cube that is really mixed up and I guess I'll start practicing on that. Or just buy another speed cube on line.

    @magicorthodoxy I am a speedcuber and if you want a decent speedcube that doesn't lock up a ton and is really good quality, I would highly recommend the Moyu Aulong GT or the GANS 356 air s. But if you want a cube that is garenteed amazing speed, easy tensioning, and is going to last a lifetime and will not pop out break on you, then I would recommend the GANS 356 air SM (which is the same as the last one except it has magnets in it). The only downside is that it is $50.00. But if you want to experiment and find a good website for great speedcubes, I would recommend thecubicle.us

      @@SpeedCubeProRL My son has a Gans Air (not the 360), we're also using the Moyang Aolong V2 (which I really like). I wasn't a huge fan of the Gans air, but I haven't tried the magnetic ones yet.

      @SpeedCubeProRL 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JeffHendricks yeah, lately, I've been a fan of the yuxin little magic M. It's cheap, but in my opinion, it is better than the Gan 356 X in some ways.

    You better have a good memory cause you're going to have to remember a lot of moves. And you better Have good coordination with your hands and fingers. Not easy at all, I suspect some people will have a hard time with it and it's probably going in the drawer. I have it.

    • @magicorthodoxy
