Funny, I had the same expression as Tuonto when I watched this live for the first time, I was very moved by their performance to the point I was too stunned to speak. The way Yusuf sang this gorgeous piece is like he is touching your soul, looking for empathy deep down upon layers of masks. The orchestra is perfect, it augmented the vocals way too well like its almost scary lol.
It even hits deeper if you know the context of the song, your soul will transcend into the beyond because Otto is the best villain of all times ever written in hoyoverse history.

This is one of the many reasons why I am happy that the world now has the internet. We get to immortalize treasures like this for future generations. They may never get to play Honkai Impact 3rd and never connect as well as we do now, but GOD DAMN, this man carries the whole story in just barely above 4 minutes of performing. I personally love this version of Regression simply because Yusuf's voice slaps harder than an Asian mom's slipper. I tear up every time I watch this shit.
i have absolutely no idea about the lore behind honkai, i only know a little bit from friends but hearing this made me cry instantly maybe it's because otto is voiced by the same VA who did ayato's voice and ayato is my genshin main and i absolutely love this VA and yusuf's singing was so powerful... amazing. loved every single second of it. worth every single tear.
@@yo-ss9wj let's not exaggerate. It's getting progressively better but it's not there yet. It has some stronger points than Honkai's, but still has less of an impact. I did get teary-eyed in latest archon quest in 3.2 for the first time though so that's a good sign

He even stated on his way to the imaginary tree that he want to have an empty stone for his grave so everyone can judge his deeds themselves. So it was never wrong for you to still hate him and write 'F U Otto' on his grave. It's not about 'how good Otto is' but it's 'how good they write Otto as a villain' that people are talking about.
