so true, the problem with modern anime is their lack of good art direction and use of over saturated colors that makes everything look shiny and plastic. Animation (how things move) has improved though.

I just watched this and i must say i am disappointed. The animation is absolutely stellar but the writing is very lacking. It's a shame such good graphic material ultimately falls short on flat characters poor world building, and a "final fight". I think the first part of the film had a good pathing that should have extended to the second half and made a slightly longer but more resolved end product. The very last act is good but feels like something went missing in between.
