Thanks for the video, what a great and yet simple idea from R2. I already have the original Tamers, so adding this kit would be easy. With a 2 acre yard and many mature trees, leaf collection has been a real chore (especially as I get older). I think I will order the kit and get it together before fall cleanup next year. Wouldn't even have known about this option if you hadn't have done this video, and I'm already an R2 customer (have the Tamers and the extenders already).
For leaves, I take my grapple and lay metal roofing in it, and up against the bottom side of the claw, and it all held in place with mechanic wire just drive up to the piles scoop or pick them up, and take them away.
I like it! It takes me back to my younger years when I had less money, but more ambition and creativity. Just ignore the looks from the "professionals" driving by. It works just fine! Keep driving.
Gm, love this Tim, when you spending time explaining the details! Shows your depth and knowledge about everything! I needed this today ... Been wondering sir! This helps in my recovery....
I put a piece of plywood in my bucket. Left it hang out about two foot. Used chains at the end of the plywood to give it (some) strength. Went from the bolt on hooks down the sides. I need to perfect the chains a little better. Just hauling firewood with it but can haul at least twice as much with the plywood. If i wasnt hauling it so far i would just make more trips. Thanks Tim. You give me more ideas to make more stuff might or might not use. But at the same time its fun to play with anything that might be of some use.
I've got a MidState #40 72" litter bucket. It stays on my tractor more than any other attachment. Great for when I'm walking around picking up fallen branches, I use it for moving small amounts of firewood to the pass-through door, anything that's not crazy heavy. I paid $900 for it back late December 2021. Not sure what they go for now, but worth every penny for me.
This is great! I have been putting together a basic plan to build a sled of sorts for the forks; this is done with way less wood and a little better support from the Edge Tamer system. I think this is something I will put together for next Fall’s leaf work. Our house is land locked, so I have to haul leaves. This on our 2032 will be way easier on the body than pulling the leaves on tarps. Thanks!
Forget using plywood. Advantec OSB will hold up much better than any plywood. I have clamp-on forks and have been using 3/4 inch piece of Advantec as a platform on the forks for 4 years. I leave it outside all the time, still holding up just fine. 😊
I was thinking of doing something similar but I need something to push leaves over a cliff. The bucket doesn't extent out far enough and would like to make something to where I don't have to get so close to the edge of a cliff when pushing leaves over the hill. The TKV20 dumps in a pile and if you let them sit, they compress. Was thinking forks and a few pallets. Attach two of them together and then the 3rd one at the front as the pusher or plow. Then some way to strap it to the forks so they don't pull off in some way.
I was just thinking about purchasing debris forks to extend the front of the bucket. I would put either sheet metal or plywood on top to achieve a similar result as this. For the sides, I saw another TH-camr use old road signs and angle iron to capture snow but they would work great to capture leaves as well. Thanks for the inspiring video!
Certainly a novel and wallet friendlier option. Perhaps sealing the wood with some sort of water-resistant/ hydrophobic sealant would make it last longer, especially in snow and damp leaf mulch.

Perhaps a channel down the centre allowing the edge of the bucket to slot into the wood may also allow it to snug up to the bucket more and create , but then again I guess it might split the wood or be pointless extra detail.
Tim great video I was watching your older videos about the snow pusher and the wedges to be on the bucket to push snow.. happy Thanksgiving to your families!! Steve from WV
Curious how well it will pick up snow, perhaps you guys could revisit this project once there is some snow on the ground? Thanks for the videos, i enjoy your content!
Good video and though I don't have a use for it, I love the idea. Someone with the tiniest amount of welding capability could make those extensions out of scrap metal and the cost of this would be a piece of plywood and a 2x6 but this is a very simple solution with the store bought pieces. As always, thanks for sharing!
Are you saying that after 40 years of manual labor or eating dirt mulching I could have built this? Great project for next labor day weekend (because it always rains ). Thanks team…. Excellent way to work with the polygon.
What a great idea, but I'm not seeing an option for the side guards only for anyone who already purchased the extenders? I posted a video last year showing a similar concept for a snow pusher with the R2 extenders. The R2 tamers are so much better in quality and versatility than all of the knock off brands. It seems like if R2 prices were just a bit lower and if they would do more marketing showing how junky the knockoffs are, they would be selling a lot more R2 tamers and accessories.
Marine grade plywood might last longer but if I would make one, light gauge metal would be better. Aluminum metal would be good too! I don't think I would do this, I just mow up the leaves and use my sweeper pull around. I just bought a shredder to use to make the leaves smaller for the garden. I also bought the hose attachment that hooks to the unit so I don't have to bend over.
You couldn't bother Rex to rip the bowed edge straight since you were already bothering him for the taper cut??? I have to go look at my edge tamers. I GUESS they must have holes in the front of the vertical part but I don't remember seeing them. But then again I can be quite oblivious.
That looks great. Here is the one I built. It sticks up under the bucket lip at the top. Then straps underneath. I love it! th-cam.com/video/BRQb_uSavaM/w-d-xo.html

For me, I think this would be great for hauling firewood to the house. The 1025R bucket just doesn't hold much firewood. Thanks for sharing Tim.

Great idea incorporating the Edge Tamers to avoid gouging while using the system for lower density payloads. I like my edge tamers. Blessings.
Great easy to make bucket extension Tim. I love your common sense approach to building it. Very enjoyable and educational video Tim. Thanks

Cut a groove in the edge of the 2x6 to accommodate the board warp.
Unique product and idea

I use an old bedliner on my forks for a leaf bucket. Works great and it was free. This is a great option too.

Wrap some sheet metal around the cutting edge. It will prolong chipping and cracking it.
Modern day carpenter!! Cool vid you two!!!
Nice option, GREAT video.... 😮😅😊
i have the edge tamers extenders, works ok
do not have the vertical ones

Good idea- I may try this
Cool tool, saves having to buy another bucket. Cheers Tim. 👍🚜🌴
NICE IDEA!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
optical illusions ... its pretty cool that 2x6 has wheels ... (right before the edge is put on it ... (the scaffold in the background))
Interesting!
11:45 Should have cut the plywood at an angle in the middle. Still would have two identical pieces, but they would fit the bucket better.
Good idea! A bit of angle would have worked beautifully.
How do you think it would with mulch?
Quite well.

These extenders are different.
@TractorTimewithTim well crap, lol. I see now looking back at the video how they are different. Makes sense.
I used my forks and and IBC cage for leaves this year. Went way faster

Do you search out these barn cats or do they search you out?
We get them from family/friends. We have had these 3 for a couple of years.

Other board.
👍
nice project. functional does not have to be pretty.
