Thank you sir. Di ako nakasama pag baklas nila Ng electrical motor kanina sobrang sayang.. buti nalang Meron ka ganitong video sir medyo gumaan loob ko. Dagdag kaalaman👍
I know what your going thru here, once I had a JP-5 pump room flood, 4 of the main motors (60 hp) got cover with sea water plus the magnet Ed contacts. What a busy friggin week that was since we loss 50% of our pumping capability. 😮😮
Wow, I've never seen an electric motor in such a poor state on the inside. In what circumstances would you heat up the bearings in hot oil? Also, could you do a video in the future explaining the working principles of electric motors found on ships? (mainly the difference between induction motors with squirrel cage rotors or wound type rotors)
Is there a way to test the rotor itself? I believe that you can take an ohm meter and touch it to the metal of the rotor, and then touch the shaft itself. If the rotor is good, then you should read infinity between them. But I am not sure if there are any other ways to test it. In your experience, have you tested it any other way, and have you actually found many bad rotors in your work? I have heard that condition is pretty rare. What do you think? Thanks.
very interesting Leckyjake. Is it possible for a foreigner to become an ETO in the Philippines with a bachelors in EEE from a foreign Country like Malaysia?
@@leckyjake thank you for the reply, i am currently doing My Electrical & electronics bachelors in Malaysia and have also recently done my STCW basic training in jordan, so i believe i can bece an ETO from there. Does your company take Junior ETOs/assistany Electrician onboard?

Omyged mafren why it's a waste of money? You arent the one whos gonna pay them also thats the reason why the company hired a worker mafren HAHAHAHAHAH 😂😂
@@germanabingii5379 It’s a waste of money because it only takes one man to overhaul a motor. There could be two motors done with that man power.. All about efficiency, something you lack in

Thank you sir very informative video more newbie maintenance learn this work
Wow, this motor really when through something...Thanks for the video on the motor maintenance!!!
happy watching from new orleans, US
Informativ video about electric motor. good job.
Interesting video LJ, very educational, thanks!
Salute to you leckyjake safe sail!
thank you for the support
Thankyou for this information sir it's should useful while I am sailing
Salamat sa new learning sir leckyjake.😉
maraming salamat lods
Thank you! sir for sharing this informative video 🙂😇 God bless and More powerrr!
very informative video , thanks
8:00 you have to place thermocouple on inner bearing race, couse that is race who is heated first by induction heater..

Surprised to see open type bearing in such important motors
mee too
Just found your channel. You've got some great content! Will you do a workshop tour?
Nice!!!
thank you for watching
Do you use bearing retention compounds like locktite?
Hi you need a portable surge tester to check 3 phase motor winding
👍
@@leckyjake how come your ship have internet connection
Kung sealed type sana lods hindi magka ganyan.. buti lods hindi sya shorted
swerte parin di bumigay ang cage at windings
very nice

Do you also rewind motors onboard if necessary?
Did you replace the open type bearing with a sealed or shielded one?
jake, thank you
Can you do one videos of boiler
Thanks
thank you for watching

I like the part where you said "electrical motor"
1:50 What is the name of the video leckyjake is refering to?
If possible, can someone reply to this comment with a link to it?
Man I'm studying electrical marine engineering in Jordan is there any chance to work in mersk
Hi so you did not have to change the stator either?
very interesting Leckyjake. Is it possible for a foreigner to become an ETO in the Philippines with a bachelors in EEE from a foreign Country like Malaysia?
I think it is not possible as you need to have the local license as an Electronics Engineer or Electrical Engineer.

What chemicals do you usually use to clean the electric motor and transformer windings?
A Impa code mb you have)
Hi Cain 'electro cleaner' has volatile properties clean the electric and electronic part use
@@Selbsttatig Hi, well, it's not for a lot of work, but there's chemistry in litres from unitor.
@@cain5483 I understand that if you can find gasoline, gasoline will do the trick.
@@cain5483 I do not recommend using thinner or similar, it will reduce the insulation resistance.
@@Selbsttatig gasoline has solvents that do not evaporate. Motor would be contaminated and need replacing.
Is it delta connected motor
sir, is painting on electrical motor good?
or it has bad effect?
depends on the paint you are using. I use the water base paint and non flammable one.

I hope you meet and watch a Filipino electrician youtube channel Name Kalecky TV.he is also a seaferer.
You don’t need two people to overhaul a motor. It’s a one man job. Poor productivity and money wasting
id rather ask for assistance and finish the job early that tire my self and finish it later.
