Arrow Dynamics is responsible for the modern steel coaster turning riders upside down! Here is some vintage footage of the original Corkscrew coaster at Knott's Berry Farm, current video of the ride today at Silverwood Theme Park, and one of the 14 original Arrow Corkscrew roller coasters still in operation at Nagashima Spaland in Japan!

Does it make me weird that I LOVE the noise Arrow coasters make on the chain lift? It's just so...unique. I could literally listen to it all day. I wish every single coaster could sound like an Arrow on the chain hill. Ahhhhhhhhh like no one seems to truly appreciate that sound!

Don't care how rough they can be, there is nothing more beautiful or satisfying than a classic Arrow coaster going through those double corkscrews...god that is so nice to watch.

Arrow Dynamics' shop on Moffett Blvd in Mountain View was right across the street from my grandmother's house. My late mother would tell me about seeing people making the original teacups for the Mad Hatters ride. I didn't see any of that, having been born in 1960. The site is now an auto body shop. I myself remember them making coaster tracks right next to the drive-in at their newer location, and I saw very interesting things whenever I went to see a movie there.

The corkscrew turn, is pretty unique to Arrow coasters. One reason maybe that the energy to push a coaster through 720 AND move forward, pretty much kills all the momentum, after its done. Hence this element is always at the end of the ride.

Opryland used to have one of these, "Wabash Cannonball." When it was new in 75 it was really a scary looking thing! Coasters didn't go upside down! But we stood in line for the hour or whatever it took to ride a 30 second ride - over and over again. Then when I got a little older I worked in the park and actually got to run it.

+ZippperBeansGaming No, Cedar Point has a fully custom version of this concept. So its not a clone or edited clone. The colour scheme of the track supports and trains are exactly the same though. To be honest I thought the thumbnail picture was Cedar Point XD. Especially with the Hyper Coaster in the background that looks like Magnum XL 200.

KWhitSkates, Actually the coaster shown at the thumbnail picture is the Corkscrew at Nagashima Spa Land, the coaster that resembles Magnum XL 200 is actually Steel Dragon 2000.
