Indisposable in my muldrotha deck! Lol I generated so much aggro though after I used plaguecrafter, brought it out again with victimize, then exiled their graves. Which removed a niv mizzet from the game. I was out turn 5 lol

6CMC walker that wipes the board but there are far cheaper boardwipes
@@L00rdAjduk but there aren't any others than give you three bodies with a +1 ability. I use it in my trostani deck and there's nothing like plus-one ing elspeth with a divine visitation out. So good

@@L00rdAjduk it's actually really good for a planeswalker in edh. Being able to make three blockers a turn shouldn't be underestimated
Tezzeret the seeker is really good if you have artifact lands in deck it’s ramp in blue it lets you search your deck for key artifacts and it lets you untap artifacts to do insane mana plays
Nissa, Who Shakes the World is pretty bonkers too. The +1 may leave one of your lands open for creature removal, but if it sticks it protects Nissa and taps for double.
Venser, the Sojourner is one of my favorites in EDH. Love being able to repeat ETB effects. His -1 ability of making all your creatures unblockable is a great wincon too.
I feel like people always underestimate how good Jace, Unraveler of Secrets is. Great card advantage, decent removal, and an absolutely crushing emblem.
Also, I feel like it’s a little weird to not see Elspeth, Sun’s Champion anywhere on the list. She’s another that can just run away with games.
Ashiok, Dream Render. I love the sound my opponents make when she ETB's with a Doubling Season on the board

Objectively: Teferi commander as a commander
Subjectively: I'd argue that Dack, WAR Narset and WAR Jace are the best planeswalkers in the format. Sorin is meh but those three are really good.

@@L00rdAjduk As nik700 said, this is a video about the best in the 99, and DJ implies this pretty heavily by only making them honorable mentions, so implies the commanders are invalid for the actual list. Because some would still be great in the 99 anyway. So Commander-Teferi-as-commander cannot be the best on the list, as again, this list is about the 99.

I'm surprised we didn't get at least an honorable mention for the new 6 drop chandra. That emblem is surprisingly powerful, especially if she gets to do it 2 or 3 times. She's also very good at killing a single threat or a bunch of small tokens
With Planebound Accomplice and Cloudstone Curio and a Mana producing red Planeswalkers you can burn the whole table on the spot
used sorin vs a ghave deck that made infinite life. They didnt have one of the effects like blood artist to drain life just a souls attendant. Used sorin after a board wipe cleared his field brought him to 10 and wound reflection killed him. Was a good first game of my Virtus/Gorm deck.

Lol when you were talking about oko, I was thinking about my muldrotha control deck that I built recently and then you mentioned muldrotha and I was like YEAH MULDROTHA
I built a Muldrotha Superfriends list after WAR came out and it's been so much fun (and surprisingly not totally miserable to play against).

Personally, I find Will Kenrith to be pretty underappreciated. His +2 just turns off two opposing commanders, which is great. He can lock the board down pretty quick.
Elspeth, Sun's Champion is my favorite. 3 creatures, or a boardwipe or an awesome emblem.
Dack is pretty powerful in his own right, but the top spot seems a little bit pushed to me, specially since Planeswalkers like Teferi exist in the format and his deck has de power to be cEDH, even if the argument doesn´t revolve around raw power Tezzeret the seeker is a much more powerful planeswalker in the sense that he can tutor almost every artifact relevant in the format as he comes into play, other than those two I agree with your list. keep up the good work!
My general strategy is to focus on every ability but the alt from Planeswalkers so just add in the one's that can help theme with their +1s and -whatevers, and yeah they're not blockers but if an opponent is attacking them they're not attacking you directly so it adds more potential cushion. Sometimes you still get the alt which can be nice but generally not needing and the fact that their abilities can be activated immediately is a plus

Nissa, worldwaker is insane in mono green. Costs 5 and untaps four forests, so she essentially costs 1 mana. If you have a mana doubler like mana reflection or caged sun though, she nets you 3 mana. I’ve never used either of her other abilities, but if you need them for some reason, they are there.

LOL My Historic Atraxa deck has most of those planeswalkers on your list but my number one in EDH is Vraska, Relic Seeker, I have won many a game with her ultimate and as one of my opponents put it ''the silly menacing pirate tokens!'', her design is great. Rumor has it that Oko was added to the list after a certain you tube creator was threatened with a possible permanent elk transformation :P
Nice Jumbo, pretty relevant list, good arguments. Personally, I believe both Threeferi and WAR Ashiok to be stronger than Sorin or Nissa, VF, but that might be completely subjective to my play experience.
Made me think about staples for color combinations or strategies, both lists could be interesting.
WAR Ashiok and Oath Chandra because self wheeling with upside and locking down your opponents’ tutors is super powerful and very helpful.

Chandra Torch of Defiance is the best mono red planeswalker, she mana ramps, she gets you card advantage, and her ultimate wins games. My personal favorite is Nicol Bolas God Pharaoh his plus two steal the top non land card from an opponents library oh so good.
Uh boi, the cards synergizing with that "Dack"-Guy are endless. Interesting Guy. Interesting Choice.
@11:29, If you have Pir, Imaginative Rascal on the field you can play Nissa, Vital Force and ultimate straight away, now, that is nuts.
Personally speaking, as a general rule I think Planeswalkers are a trap in commander. Yes, there are moments where they can run away with the game but from personal experience I've found just as many situations where they're essentially overcosted sorceries because you play them, get one activation and then they die. Planeswalkers generally require you to have commanding board presence to be worth playing. The only planeswalker off the top of my head I think it's worth playing is Ashiok, Dream Render. I basically look at her as a 3 mana sorcery that mills an opponent 4 and then exiles every opponent's graveyard. If she drops and dies I still feel like that's alot of power for only 3 mana. If she sticks around a couple more turns, it's all upside. Alternatively, take something like Liliana, Dreadhorde General. Assume you drop her and only get one activation. Paying 6 mana for a 2/2 is really bad. Paying 6 to make everyone sac two creatures is also pretty bad. Yes, if you hand 2 creatures out and you minus you draw 2 but that just reaffirms my point that you need an established board for her to really be worth it. That's just my opinion anyway.

@@keanulinkers4487 technically I think Ashiok is supposed to be "genderless" but she just always seemed female to me so I've always referred to her as such.
I agree in general but not about Liliana dreadhorde general specifically. The card draw is what makes it worth making a 2/2 for 6 mana. If you’re making a zombie then Liliana gets attacked you are chump blocking with some creatures and drawing some cards even if she gets taken out you are likely getting some more value than a 2/2.
@@jakeapplegate6642 I disagree. In that scenario you're essentially paying 6 mana for a 2/2 that draws you a card when it dies. For the same cost I'd much rather play something like Grave Titan or Demonlord Belzenlok.
Yao Guai Liliana DG is way better than belzenlok. Harvester of souls is better than belzenlok in a lot of cases.
Saheeli, sublime artificier is my pet favourite Planeswalker in commander. I have her in my Brudiclad deck and it's like she was made for that deck alone.
I think you miss Teferi ,time ravaler and Ashiok from the Spark

Definitely agree with Liliana and both Ugins. I honestly think some of the Bolas walkers should be on here. Also both teferis from DOM and WAR are pretty powerful. Also really enjoy dack as well.
What about Freyalise, llanowar fury?
She's ramp, blockers, removal, and a reasonably priced draw power as well...
He gave honorable mention at the start of the video for all the Mono-colored Planeswalker commanders that came from the early Commander Product.
Tezzeret the seeker is a really nice tutor
Jace, tms it’s really good in cEDH in my experience due to the lack of creature presence and non impact on board, I could argue that people see TMS as a broken card that is useless in edh but the less creatures there are in your meta, the better for your pw
I've seen a few people mention it already but you did not include the best (or at least 2nd best - depending on who you ask) Planeswalker in EDH: Tezzeret the Seeker. If we ignore the mana cost Tezzeret's ability is far stronger than all other Walkers you mentioned. In my games he wins about half the time that very turn he is played. And if he doesn't win instantly, he still threatens to win next turn. The only other Walker that can contest the 1st place is Dack Faden imo. Also WAR Jace is definitely one of the most powerful Walkers. But unlike Tezzeret, you need a rather difficult setup for WAR Jace to win.
Personally I love Elspeth, Sun’s Champion. She makes dudes and more than likely kills a good chunk of the board. I also have a hydra deck that Nissa, Who Shakes the World plays a huge role in getting me more mana to dump into my X/X Hydras. She also plays very well with Leyline of Abundance allowing me to make an absurd amount of mana.
i think you should have included Stunt Double as an honorable mention. he is a 4 cost ultimate for several planeswalkers like garrruk cursed huntsman and oko and nissa vital force for example

I dont know why but people seriously underestimate WAR domri. Its a 3 mana mana rock. But he also makes all creatures you cast that turn uncounterable. Not only the spell that that mana was used but all creature spells. It can also be a removal if you have a big creature which its passive helps a little bit. Also it isnt threatening so it will pull less hate.
Im down with your list except I think Ugin, the Spirit Dragon should be higher. Put him in a hardcore control deck and his ultimate is totally attainable. His -X is amazing, but if you have enough counterspells to keep him around 2 rotations, you basically win. I've done it a few times with my now extinct Teferi, Temporal Archmage deck. And my (almost current) Baral deck.
Some of my personal favorites:
Tamiyo, Collector of tales; her real bread and butter comes in the anti sacrifice/discard passive shared only by sigarda host of herons. Her dig ability isnt that bad especially if you're running cards like "Sylvan library" where you know the top card of your deck every time. Her ability to grab any spell, not just permanents also seperates her from Nissa vital force and she can use either ability right on the cast.
Most of the war walkers are actually amazing too. Ajani strength of the pride is also a pretty decent "Budget Ugin" and is a way for white decks with life gain to exile all creatures and artifacts they don't control.
I overheard Tezzeret too and that's a great walker for artifact decks. Seeker in particular can do nasty things like making sure you have the blue Mana to spend for stasis every upkeep. (Disgusting)

Sylvan Offering + Mayhem Devil + Zulaport Cutthroat + Liliana's Ultimate. Extremely crippling.

i wouldn't say i disagree with ya list but i so say Nissa who shakes the world, Ashiok dream render and Nicol Bolas God Pharaoh have their uses :D nothing better than haveing a graveyard recursion deck as an opponent and dropping Ashiok on the battlefield xD
Um not sure about the painters servant and ugin combo it wont exile lands because I believe they have no cmc that's why theres spells with zero mana as they're cost they still have a cost since they are cast, Lands are played so I think they're lands are safe
Appreciate the list. I actually don't think Sorin Markov is very good at all. It wounds one player and then puts a giant target on your back. It isn't good in a very political format.
Some misses from the list:
Garruk Wildspeaker: Ramps, protects itself, and acts as a win con
Tezzeret the Seeker: Ramps and tutors
Elspeth Sun's Champion: Has major board impact with either it's + or - abilities.
Teferi, Hero of Dominaria or Tefer, Time Raveler: Effective removal and card draw
Nissa, Vital Force is pretty easy to ultimate, love her in my landfall deck.
I like three Planes walkers. Chandra Fire Artisan is a better outpost siege. I am also a big fan of two Lilianas. Dark Realms is nice because she get you swamps. Death's Majesty is great for graveyard deck like zombie.
Narset is a monster with Teferi's Puzzlebox

Hes obviously never had a board full of indestructible trees powered up by finale of devastation.
I wish wizards would make a non broken/weak UGX commander so I can have a place to play Oko.

That's true. The walkers as commanders are so so narrow because they only work in their own deck, but they are very strong.

So I disagree with several of these picks. Lily, Nissa and New Ugin. I'm also on the fence about Sorin. These walkers I feel are outclassed by quite a few.

These are walkers I feel are all much better than those three you picked. But this might be bias on my part. Karn is a bonkers card that locks out you opponents artifacts which is nuts even without the Mycho combo. Stopping flash is fantastic with Teferi. Artifact search is great for a lot of combo which can be a mana saver in comparison to fabric at times. Vivian has proven her worth for me, both replacing herself and letting me play around counter magic. Liliana of the veil is bonkers, You don't see her often but she's much better than people give her credit for. And Ashiok is my bane, I hate him so much. He just shuts me down all the time.
But that's excluding walkers who can be your commander. I do agree with most the list and Dack is probably the best but these others are very very strong. Last time I saw Sorin it brought me to 10 and I still won. it didn't matter.
ugin only live if you casted the painter after ugin tho cause ugin would be those chosen color if you cast him after the painter... and by then it's just not that great unless i'm not understanding how that combo works

Yup, I think those cards suck in our format. Jace is a 4 mana brainstorm. He doesn't do enough before he is killed. I think Narset took his spot.

Are you sure ugin works like that? If painters servant makes everything green perse, ugin is a green permanent and should be exiled by the text "exile EACH permanent that's one or more colours". Including himself.
Riley Adams Ugin costs 8 and starts with 7 loyalty, so you usually -x him for 6. This misses Ugin himself.

Ugin is a permanent, and therefore becomes a permanent with one or more colours. Am I missing something?
@@adamrobinson6951 you exile permanents of cmc X or less. Ugin is 8, starts with 7 loyalty, so you're probably wiping 6cmc or less. I suppose you could plus him first and then get to the point where he wipes himself? Idk, I basically only ever minus him. But... ya know. Just don't wipe above 7cmc.
I'm a simple man, I mostly just want to see Oko help my Yasova take any creature she wants and turn it into other resources.
Maybe the new karn it's pretty sweet to stop enemy ramp with artifacts
