The Russia-Ukraine war is going on for two years and hence Russia is very busy and it's defence production is not even sufficient to take care care of itself. Hence it makes sense for India to look toward the USA and the West. So, the Russia-India is currently more of trade, business and investment. India understand very well how the erstwhile USSR stood for India while the whole Western world was against India in 1971 Indo-Pak war. On the sidelines, India would also discuss about entry of some countries other than Pakistan into Brics
