    Love the classic Tales of the Arabian Nights. This looks even better!

    Thanks for the video! I probably won't play this solo, but this is absolutely going to be a hit with my RPG group. 😄

      Yeah, it’s fun solo, but more fun with others to witness the stories

    Perfect was literally looking into this one. Also it was great seeing you and demoing hungry monkey for you at Pax!

    Awesome narrative game. I pre-ordered in late summer for a release date of November 30th but they delayed it for December 17th so I hope they stick to this date and I receive my copy around the Holidays. Great playthrough as always. These 47 minutes flew by super fast.

      I hope you indeed get to play it soon. Great way to spend some holiday time :)

    It warmed my heart that you knew how to correctly pronounce ‘Taliesin’. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

      I regret to say that particular name pronunciation was just good luck! :)

    I ordered this months ago intending it to be my main Christmas present but cancelled it as it became obvious it wasn't going to arrive on time. Used the money to buy tidal blades 2 instead

      @OneStopCoopShop well it was your playthrough and review that made me decide to get it. Plus got it for a great price

    Thanks for the video! Can you share what was the setup time? I'm wondering if this would be a good 2 player game.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Setup time is super quick, a minute or two if you have the skill tokens organized by player.
      And 2-player might be the best way to play, since you will always be either having an adventure or reading to another player

    This is pretty great. Very different mood to Arabian Nights. How do you feel the replay is by comparison? The skill system seems different enough that I'm not sure how I feel, fewer skills but a dice roll between you and good results vs. just lucking out with having skills that match plus sensible decisions comes off a bit different. Wouldn't mind a resource to spend to boost skill rolls, maybe, would be a bit of a downer to get a basically impossible roll requirement

      @OneStopCoopShop  วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I prefer this one by a decent margin, and the replay is strong in that I still haven’t seen repeated encounters

      @@OneStopCoopShop It feels like there's a bit less branching due to skills not really dictating bonus choices, it seems? I do remember in AN often running into the same things over and over. I do like that the ages advance, although it does seem rather quick... Like I can imagine you can dwell in an age as long as you like but it winds up costing you the longer you do, like a press your luck element if you've fallen behind due to bad rolls

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@nutherefurlong Sure, Arabian might have a bit more branching, but I found the narrative events in that one so random and disconnected that it still doesn't work as well for me.
      As for the ages, sure, you could stick around in them longer with houserules, I don't think it would break anything besides making it easier to "win", but winning shouldn't really be the point in these games anyway :)

      @@OneStopCoopShop The randomness in AN is on theme. AN is about a woman making up wild stories every night so she isn't executed by a king. So the random and disconnections could just be seen as her fatigue in telling all the stories and trying to keep the king on his toes so as to gain his favor of her life for yet another night.
