I love this gate story. Especially,in my mind I am imagining Jim Cornette in one of his epic colored suits trying to get that gate to work.
Meltzer loved and praised Cornette, Funk, Flair and the whole NWA and had a bias against the WWE so Corny will always love him and give him benefit of the doubt.
Now Cornette has a bias against Kenny and the bucks; and has a problem with Meltzer's bias.

Can I just point out, that there is another side to the Austin Aris thing. Which is, that he suffered a concussion, so it might be, that he did not mean to no sell, but his condition led to the mistake

In the end, it wasn't Dave Meltzer who "exposed the business" to a mass audience. His existence proved that people care about wrestling and want to know more about it. He was good for true wrestling guys like Jim Cornette. It was guys like Vince McMahon, who invented "sports entertainment," introducing cartoon characters, which, unless you're a complete moron, you know that's a total work. The worst thing that ever happened to wrestling was simply bad booking. Nobody cares as much as Jim outside of hardcore fans whether it's a work or it's legit competition. We just want to see talented people doing what they do best and at least attempting to make me believe in it. It's like a movie. Everyone knows movies aren't real life, so let's just have animated films until the end of time. I'd lose my mind.

What research? The Flat Earth community offers a lot of incorrect math and just ignores all the evidence that the Earth is an oblate spheroid.
Two easy ways to confirm this is to watch as ships disappear over the horizon bottum first until the top disappears. If the Earth was flat ships should disappear into a vanishing point, and anyone should be able to use a telescope to be able to see the ship well beyond the vanishing point for human eyes, yet it doesn't happen, no telescope no matter how powerful, can make the ship visible again. This is because the ship has gone with the curvature of the Earth and is no longer in the line of sight of even the most powerful astronomy telescopes. Flat Earthers often just ad hoc explain this away as an optical illusion, but have never demonstrated this or explained how and why this "illusion" happens every time under any condition.
The second easy way to confirm the earth is curved is the way they did it 3000 years ago(yes, we have known the earth was not flat that long) is to measure the shadow the sun makes on a stick placed vertically in the ground at noon, and have some one a few hundred miles south of you do the same. The difference demonstrates the curvature of the earth and can tell us the rate of curvature.
Then there are high altitude photographs from all around the world, not just NASA, and if you want to put your money where your mouth is, set up a live stream of you and an objective observer releasing a high altitude weather balloon with a camera rig with a normal, not fisheye, lense that broadcasts the video and or still photos and see what it shows at high altitide; curvature or not. I'm sure plenty of Flat Earth proponents will help with funding on a kick starter or go fund me or something.
I'm pretty sure you will say all the science, the geometry, the photos from all kinds of sources, are part of some vast conspiracy that has existed since the ancient Greeks, to decieve the world about the shape of the world, for some crazy reason. Because that is _so_ convincing.
I _have_ done the research, the evidence for an oblate spheroid earth(just like every other body visible in the cosmos over a certain mass is, and even the smaller bodies like asteroids are flat but lumpy and odd shaped, but not flat discs) is overwhelming and I have offered three observational experiments you can do yourself to prove the curvature of the earth. The evidence for a flat earth is a lot of assertions, cries of conspiracy, ignoring geometry and observational evidence with ad hoc, unproven assertions to handwave it all away. The people putting this out there are fanatical conspiracy theorists, hard core religious fundamentalists, conmen or some combination of the three. They use misinformation and half truths and outright lies to convince honest people that all the science and math is wrong, all the photos from all the varied sources are all fake, and that it is all due to a conspiracy that must be at least 3000 years old. None of them have ever taken the broadcasting video and photos from a weather balloon challenge. If they are so sure, and the earth really is flat, this would prove them right and since all the photos and video from the "globetards" is fake, you'd think many would do multiple observational video experiments with high altitude balloons, with objective observers. Odd that they won't do it.
I hope you were being facetious, but Poe's Law exists, and personal experience tells me that Flat Earthers have conned a lot of people. I hope you look into the science and try at least the first two, cheap/free to do experiments for yourself. Cheers.
