      Yeah. In Austria, it's not better. We got the FPÖ, a party consisting of racist and misogynist dipshits, the SPÖ, the party who never has enough money, the ÖVP, known as the most capitalistic party of 'em all, "die Grünen", who bitch about everything, and the NEOS, the party only known for them wanting water to be private so you need to buy water in the store. Now there are a lot of annoying posters especially from the FPÖ everywhere in Vienna, and Vienna happens to be where I live.

    Canadian politics a joke? How about Australia? We have had 4 Prime Ministers in the last 5 years. 2 of them voted the then elected PM off and took over for the remaining term. Since 2007, the person elected didn't actually get to finish their term.
    Our current treasurer also said "The poorest people either don't have cars, or actually don't drive very far" about a fuel tax, and "get a good job that pays good money" to first home buyers trying to purchase a home. These people are actually running our country...

      ***** You are missing the point. It is insulting. It is not simple to "get a good job that pays good money" if it were, everyone in the world would be earning more money than they would know what do with it.
      There are so many issues, one being Australia is one of the most expensive places to live. The cost of... well... everything, goes up every year while wages stay the same or only go up a small amount.

    For the few years I have actually been observing politics I have noticed a few things, before I get to actually writing anything I'd like to say these are opinion that can and may change given new information to draw an opinion with.
    According to my education the purpose of an election campaign is to inform the masses on how you plan to run the country, and to notify the public on the changes the political party wants to make to laws and policy with at least some vague detail(if they did changes or not post election is irrelevant (unless the party in question was the current government or had a clear history of it with the same party leader). This is a clear point that has seem to be overlooked with the last few Canadian election I have been apart of, this is something that worries me as it should you. For instance the Conservative parties only clear policies was to be hard on immigration, and to not change drug policy. The only other information I was given was to look at their website, I tried this once and I could find no other information that wasn't fluff (fluff my was of saying that all I read was either talking in circles never really making a choice on anything or smearing the other parties), that may of been because the website seemed to be designed by a drunk teen on a Friday at 3 am.
    For the liberals I could only find the exact policies just opposite, as for the Web site it was just as vague as the Conservative party page. If not more difficult I was given only a few headings with a search bar to navigate the page, meaning to me if I didn't know what I was looking for I wasn't ment to find.
    For the NDP party I have to say I never went to the website, I couldn't get it to work in my browser I believe at the time it was due to traffic. However the brochure I got wasn't much better than the previous parties, though I think they took the Conservative stance on drug policy and liberal for immigration and was against pipelines.
    Next lets tackle the people of Canada, not once in all the media or amongst the masses did I hear one person say or ask "hey other than those limited single digit changes total you are promising, what do you plan on doing for the next 4 years?" Why does that bother me well first off most off our current policies are on average some 30+ years old. yep in a day and age where technology progress roughly doubles every 7 years, the technology of government is some 30 years behind. ( using math that works out do be some 120 technological years behind current technology btw in 30 years technology doubles just over 4.5 times for sake of ease I only used 4)
    don't mistake me for anti-goverment, what I'm saying is that I don't think it's a relevant law to have that gives a person a horse, a loaded revolver, 3 days, and then says they can't come back as punishment is relevant in todays society.
    I'll do one more point as i'v been going on for a bit here, there are no real qualifications to running for prime minister. Seriously you need 2 qualifications, 250 like minded people, and enough money to register the party that's it that's all. this means you don't need a high school education, you don't have to be able to read or write in any language, you don't have to care about the country.
    consider that at the next election.

    Hey Buckley, I know you probably won't read this, but just in case you do: I'd love to see you do a video on the Australian political climate and history of the past five years. We've for through 5 prime ministers in the past five years, only two were elected, the rest were backstabbed by their own party and kicked out of the job, it's been an absolute joke over here, no one takes the government seriously anymore, not that they really did to begin with. I think there's a lot of material here for a video, if you're up for it. It'd be interesting to get your take on all of this

    I don't feel like explaining how exactly our government system works in The Netherlands. But there are parties you can vote on. They all have views, but they don't differ thát much. It's not as crazy as in Canada or the U.S., but it's certainly crazy. The party leaders(/members of parliament/representative of the people) have all kinds of promises, but most of them are not held on to. They call themselves representative of the people, but they don't listen to us at all. We voice our concerns and give our opinion, but they don't give a single fuck. We have a choice, but the problem is that we don't have a possible good choice.

What if your choices were between Hitler and Stalin? Would you blame people for not voting at that point? Hell fucking no. If anything, not voting says a lot more than voting since it shows that the 2 candidates you had to choose from ( because in the US, we don't follow what the Founding Fathers and Constitution wanted or said at all ) were both fucking shit and would do nothing but harm to your country.

      @CoWinkKeyDinkInc 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +CHANgnsd If it were only that easy to "run for office" and actually have a remote chance. Look at people with the money and support who don't get any recognition on the Republicans and Democrats, so running for office is completely out of the question. The point of a Democracy isn't to either vote or run, it's to voice your opinion on how the country should be ran, and not voting is just another way of doing so. And if a shit ton of people aren't voting ( like now where only 1/3 vote ), then that says that the system is fucked up and needs to be restarted, which it is and it does. There was never supposed to be only 2 parties ( and don't give me any shit as if another party has a chance in hell of putting a dent into the votes ), the Electoral College is outdated and should be switched to a one vote means one vote instead of wasting peoples' vote, and a whole bunch of other changes that should've happened years ago or from the get go.

    Why do Canada's ads feel weird? Like...over-acted or the logic that's being made is extremely faulty? Granted, what was shown here probably isn't a good representation since it's a campaign commercial and the U.S. has PLENTY of over-the-top, weird campaign commercials.
    This said, in other commercials I've seen, most women in Canada's commercials make me think of the laughable woman from the Verizon protests, the commercial where the woman said that Canada was taught to share and that Verizon's presence was "unfair" and un-Canadian. There HAD to be a better way to get the point across rather than that cheesy, sappy line that only made Canadians look weak (not saying they are, but such a commercial didn't help the country's image exactly...)
