- I had the best day and the best time making this dessert on a sweet sunny day with no worries. I felt so chill and ready to try this new thing. Something about oranges and clementines and other citrus fruits that make a summer day all the more relaxing with their fragrance and beauty. But here is hoping that you will enjoy the sounds from your end as you imagine the fragrance and the wholesome taste of this sweet treat. My 10 year old daughter and I just made a pie very similar to this. We did a mashed pretzel, butter, brown sugar crust and the filling was cream cheese, powdered sugar, and whipped cream. This is kind of what it’s like to have a stay at home mom. Some moms that work will still like and enjoy homemaking. Others are just too tired. Times have changed quite a bit. It takes all kinds to make the world go around.

Oh boy! The homeless shelter is a hub for quite a bit of violence. So I was told by someone who had been living there once. The Lord watch over you and keep you safe.
Oh gosh, I just remembered something else. I was working at a regular gas station near the airport when I had a line of five or six people. I was the only employee there that night. A couple of men came in and nonchalantly walked to the back cooler, each grabbing two giant 12 packs of beer and made a dash for it out the front door. It was strange how calm I remained and just let them walk. People were looking at me like, “aren’t you going to do anything?!” One person said it. I’m all, “I’m going to risk my life for 12 packs of beer?! I don’t owe this gas station my life.” 🤦🏻♀️

@@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction My GF was looking for jobs awhile back, and she saw an ad for a cashiers job in a convenience store. After talking to her about it, we agreed it was way too dangerous a job for a 61 year old. And you're right, your life isn't worth a 12 pack of beer. This homeless shelter is under construction. I'm guarding the construction equipment. I'm technically a licensed unarmed guard, but in that neighborhood I have a handgun, a shotgun, a Taser and a can of pepper gas with me. I'm in my personal vehicle for 15 hr shifts, so any attempt at violence on me and my vehicle becomes personal, and not job related. So I'd do what I have to, to defend myself. We're in a fallen world, so you have to be prepared. Not everyone is as nice as you are, so sad to say.
I love oranges but hate peeling them. It's a lot of wasted effort if they aren't sweet lol. So glad clementines are widely available these days. Easy to peel, no seeds and always sweet. They are my favorite fruit!

Hey Rebecca, hydrox is actually the rival cookie for oreo and the reason you can't find them is probably because oreo kicked them out of the stores you bought them from. They have a huge rivalry and I hope one day I can try some hydrox cookies, but I've never seen them anywhere but I know they still make them.

I enjoyed this so much and I bet I'd enjoy eating it even more! 😂 As someone who absolutely hates zesting citrus but loves how it looks, you can get it to disperse evenly and prettily across your cake by zesting over it. I've learned by trial and error after zesting into a bowl then trying to distribute the wet clumps haha. You might also want to make sure to rotate the citrus as you zest it, as the further it gets zested, it gets into the pith, causing bitterness instead of brightness. I know you're a renegade and the cake is delicious either way. Thank you for the video. :)

A large 1 gallon ziplock bag holds 24 cookies and is strong enough to handle the crushing. Also, mandarin zest added to the crust would have added a strong hit of orange flavor too.
I love your idea about the zest! Oh my gosh it was so good on this dessert! I was thinking at the time that I was eating it how I would’ve loved to have more of it on there. In the crust is an excellent idea! Definitely going to do the cookie crumbs differently next time. Thank you for that as well.

Those look delicious Rebecca! And while i couldnt relate to the impatient to eat part (i like making foods but not eating them), i know that it must have taste good with the coffee ! Though its kinda funny to me how something that took a long time to make could ended up finished in a matter of minutes
Also a little tip for the crust. Next time try and and a little milk (a few tablespoons) after you smash them with the melted butter. My mother did this and it usually works with her

🥧💕 I have an orange peeling tip for you. If you roll them around first it makes them really easy to peel, the white stringy stuff doesn't stick to the orange as much and they get extra juicy too 🍊.

To make cookie crumbs from creme cookies you have to open the cookie and scrap the creme out with a knife…discard the creme or eat it!
