I watched it when it aired in 2016 and cried a lot, didn't dare to re-watch it until the end of last year and I feel like I cried a lot more than the first time even though I knew what was going to happen 💔 it's been 7 years and we're all still waiting for a second season or at least for them to release the other ending they filmed😭😭 the chinese version actually had a second season where they met but I've never watched it. It hurts 💔
my first drama and it just made me not watch another one for a while and it had to be a happy one to recover emotionally. I don´t dare to watch it again till this day. watching this with your just revived memories
After finishing this drama I couldn't watch any other dramas for a long time, I would just remember the ending and start crying out of nowhere. It's just that I really didn't expect anything from him at the beginning and he ended up being my everything. There's no getting over it, it breaks my heart. IU & Lee Joon-gi get along very well and have a nice friendship, whenever they can they talk about the drama and the love story they have for him, I'm still waiting for a 2nd season. You could see the chapter of Knowing Brothers where they attend, they reconstructed my heart a little in that chapter. 💔
I can't believe that I watched this. I vowed to myself to never re-watch or watch an episode of scarlet heart ryeo, but here I am breaking that vow. Now I can't stop crying all over again 😭
I got a notif for this comment and I only saw the first part and i was like "what the heck are they commenting on this strongly" but it all makes sense 😂
There is an interview where they revealed that another ending scene was actually filmed but not aired. It is a continuation of the mordern day scene at the end where the ML met her at the museum before the drama ends
I watched this drama like 6 years ago and I put it in my list of dramas at the top but I didn't dare to watch it again until this week and yes, STILL HURTS I cried a lot AGAIN! 😭 Scarlet Heart: Ryeo is really beautiful and have some fun moments here and there specially in the first like 5-8 episodes but mostly is sad af 😭
8:30 Her health has been deteriorating since she was beaten up, which leads to the death of the former Damiwon's superior (forgot her name 😅) 10:40 Because it's ending, I guess hehe 🤭It's okay. We all cried too 😅 16:50 I'm glad because Chaeryong's death has been repaid. Haesoo's such a great friend. 22:50 Hmm, Jimong could be a time-traveller, or reincarnate & remembers his past life. We'll never know haha. IU posted a scene on her IG after the drama ended, where LJG gave her a handkerchief when she cried. We're still mad that THAT scene didn't make the cut, but well, we'll probably never be getting the second season. Thank you for the reaction ☺
Ending was perfect. this sad ending make this drama so popular. Modern day S2 will be boring and wont have much impact. im satisfied with S1 and its ending
This was pre-filmed, but there are two different cuts of the drama. Aside from editing and wonky angles, the reception in Korea was also affected by the popularity of the drama in the same time slot which was Moonlight Drawn by Clouds. However this was by far the more successful drama outside Korea. There two cuts of the drama: the one aired in SBS and the one in most streaming platforms. When they saw the negative reviews about excessive closeup shots and awkward scene transitions, they edited the cuts last minute and so some scenes might look sliightly different in the SBS aired version, which was the edited (and slightly better) version. The drama did very well internationally, and had it been released say 3 years late, it would prob have a 2nd season considering intl demand was more than sufficient to ensure it will do well in streaming (netflix, etc) Lastly, the Reply 1988 was always meant to end with Hyeri and Park Bogum. People involved with the production and Hyeri herself confirmed this. It was excellent misdirection for a lot for people but tbh idk if I can even call it that. Choi Taek has always looked like the main character to me.
Youku (chinese) and One TV (international) purchased the drama before it was aired and they have right to broadcast it. For the first 3 episodes, there was no difference between SBS, Youku and One TV. But as I said the editing in the first 3 episodes was really bad that they drew some heavy criticisms from Korean audience. Because of that, they decided to re-edit the following episodes so the re-edited version becomes the Korean version on SBS. The problem is, they can't change the version that has been sold to Youku and One TV, so these two still aired the original, unedited version which fans called the Chinese and International versions we have now. This 3-version distinction was due to EP16 being different in all three versions. But for the other episodes the chinese and intl version were the same so we usually simply called them international version and sbs/korean version. That and it was baseball season in korea and airing time was usually up in the air depending on when the game ends. One time it was canceled entirely for the night because the game took so long but Youku released the episode that night, inadvertently leaking it, and so korean ratings suffered more. It was kind of a mess all around lol. Some scenes are longer, some scenes entirely cut, sequence of scenes were sometimes different, some music used were different. It wasn't fun watching multiple versions and looking for differences. But ifans loved it, and it was especially massive in China. Even the kr sentiment has changed and netz generally agree now that Dalyeon (Moon Lovers) aged better than Gukdal (Moonlight). It was the Park Bogum post-Reply hype which carried it at the time.
Thank you for all your reaction to this beautiful drama, I hope you can make another summary but now complete about your final opinion, let us know what you liked the most, what made you suffer the most, what is your favorite song And above all, what ending would you have liked for this drama, thank you very much again for your reaction and I hope you can make another reaction to another emotional drama, greetings from Mexico and I wish you the best in life.
Thanks for watching this show along with me, it was a wild ride.
Up next on our Monday slot is SKY Castle so keep an eye out for that next week
The first time I saw this drama, I almost died.

Yeah I heard the second season of the chinese one was almost like a makjang so i would hope they wouldnt go that way if they ever did revisit it
honestly this ending was perfection in my opinion (as devastating as it was)

🤬 I’m suing the director for emotional damages
That's because the chinese version (which this is based on) has a sequel that takes place in modern day with reincarnations.

I cried a lot AGAIN! 😭

I didn’t know there was 2 cuts that’s really interesting
