I really hope they recognize the severe backlash that this update has brought, and do something about it. In the official discord server, it's a battle field, everyone hates it, and devs had said nothing yet. I hope this isn't the end, I've spent too much time and had too much fun for this game to just be washed away in one big update
They haven’t done anything about criticism or backlash for years now, unfortunately I don’t think they’ll start now. It happened when the first major full game rework happened, and for some reason they don’t understand we just want the original game back, without the whole reforge system, and to bring back hunts for individual behemoths instead of the endless hunting grounds

It’s easier to make the game repeatedly worse, bank on player good will for the ‘next big update’ while slowly chipping away at the F2P aspect. Removal of cosmetics from the battlepass into a paid only one, removal of platinum as well, so now you have two battle passes you gave to buy. Now you don’t have your slayer vault for free, old cosmetics anymore and paired with a loot box. I’m sure the store has plenty amount of new skins. I would check if I had the game downloaded.
It's over, my guy. Bought out by a Crypto company, this game was swapped around to be one final cash grab before closing it out for good. Hoping people spend money to get their weapons back, before shuttering the game. This is the best example of regression in video game, that I've ever seen. It went from being a complete experience, to this weird pre-alpha feeling nonsense. Absolute shame.

This update makes sniffing powdered fiberglass sound more appealing. I can’t believe that they took away all my weapons and nerfed the few I get to keep to the ground. Everything I had before is gone or meaningless. I will never invest my time money and energy on a phoenix labs game again.
Dude I last consistently played when they had just added the umbral trial so a good couple years ago, no new weapons since all the way back then apart from ones made of parts of new monsters, but no new unique weapons no new types of weapon, nothing but more ways to spend money on the game for years

I love having all my progress since it was first available on xbox years ago just stripped away, with hardly any guide on how to get situated with the new update, mainly weapons which took me like 3 hours to realize oh its a lootbox mechanic. And its 10x the grind for -10x the payout. Along with building seems harder to do. Like no matter what i do currently i have 2 active perks and 5-10 then are nothing but waste of space on my screen
I would always come back to this game and binge it for a while then stop and come back over the years. I am now confident that I will never play this game again.
I remember playing Dauntless when everyone were waiting for Monster Hunter World PC premiere. Unironically, the game played so well in my opinion that I seriously struggled when switching to MHW. To this day, I remember when I finally managed to grind every single one exotic item, such a great grindfest. Making OP hammer/sword builds, helping low lvl players who were struggling with their first Ragetail Gnasher hunt and just enjoying the ride with other guild mates - it was all great. Sucks to see what happened after this game switched to Epic launcher, wasted potential.
kinda funny how monster hunter used to have this perk point system where you had to hit a threshold to activate the skill, after 20 years of games they dont have that anymore, dauntless is going backwards. No better advert for wilds exist, dauntless is actively pushing players to wilds right before it releases nice

I think the best way to describe this update is: the Devs don't respect the players time I was hoping to the game to be better, is like they tried to be more like MH with the armors and perks, but failed on what build crafting on MH works, and what made build crafting on Dauntless be more accessible and fun I hope they do something or this will be the end for Dauntless
How are they so disconnected with the community, make people grind so much to get max mastery then change it to prestige grind even more for that then change it. And what they give us a crown?

I remember playing this game religiously since launch back then. (PS4) I was hoping this update would make me download it again, but it hasn’t. I’m thankful for this video, and it’ll remain off my hard drive. Just became too stale and dry after years of playing it. I’ll just play MH Wilds when that releases or Wild Hearts, which I still need to beat. (Bit rough sometimes but enjoyable) It makes me sad that a game I used to enjoy begins to die, or is dying.
Its absolute chaos Starting my Journey forced to do shit quest to unlock another islands...took me like 40 mins.. Wathcing the white cells system made more confusing than ever.. Getting build took me 2h Upgrading gear another 1h Bugged out Behemots and combat. Absolutely nightmare... i had some like 10m coins so it helped fast proces but for somebody new the struggle will be really real.
I would say that if they wanted to make unique movesets, give it to the legendaries and exotics, and then leave the normal weapons with a normal basekit
I get that, but wouldn't you at least wanna make your game more appealing? This update was soul crushing...I played dauntless a soon as it was avalible on ps4... Each "major" update took away more than it gave and forced the game to be even more grindy... And the biggest insult to it all was how often they asked from player feedback... We told them what we wanted then they laughed, kicked us into the dirt and farted in our face to prove a point... And this is just unexcusable... A 50 dollar skin... Helldivers was 40... A fully reaslized 8 years in the making game was 10 dollars cheaper... Not to mention its skins are about 5 while dauntless thinks 10 dollars is low... This level of preditory microtrasanctions only exsists to bully the ligitimatly mentaly challenged and addicts... I hate how they removed cells and most weapons also reforge levels i grinded to garbage kinda sucks but things I do like is having 2 weapons at once. Upgrading weapons and having the infusion and talent for the blacksmith is dope. Overall sucks they removed more than what they added but in the other sense we can flex our transmogs HARDCORE XD

Updated the game just to see over a year worth of progress just gone. My builds are completely ruined, and the weapons that I farmed multiple days or even weeks for are just gone.
The old dauntless was dying realy bad, besides some regular players that never left. This is like the third revival they tried to pull out to save the game from closing
The game would of been fine if they made good choices. This is the result of realizing they can't make good choices and going the route of making the game pay 2 win to squeeze the last penny out of players.

Tried playing the update but most stuff is more confusing, quality went down for like the elemental icons and most things, cells are even more confusing now, bounties are even more important, the hunting ground selection is UGLY as well like i was looking firward to this update so much too😭
I'm really confused on everything they did on the cell system and how you can't simply unequip cells cuz they get destroyed. Also the game is extremly laggy for some reason, this is on a ps5 wich could run this game very smoothly prior to the update.
They didnt add anything new on the contrary they just re organized what we had and removed or locked somethings behind paywalls or extensive grind to make it feel "new" I want to give them the chance and think they were forced to make the game so hard in microtransactions or simply they want to get some money before it dies in any way they can think of, instead of making the game fun to play its pay to play
If someone needs fps fix, since game settings doesn't work properly, they are there: X:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Archon\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\GameUserSettings.ini Make a file backup, in case you break something and change them as you like. Resolution quality can be dropped to 50 which feels like old low settings, but somehow more washed out. (Maybe even 25, haven't tested) Other properties can be dropped to 0 if you want, but keep view distance high, it's important for gameplay, otherwise you just won't see projectiles \ lasers and such.
i really tried to be optimistic about this update but it’s just not it. it doesn’t have the same dauntless vibe it used to have, even the ramsgate feels off. i hope the devs have a revelation cuz their about to lose all of their players

I was really excited to try this and now I just want the old Dauntless back. Here is hoping they just reverse all of the changes, because holy cow, what a disaster.
its a real shame you got me to wanna hop on and i was enjoying the game even got my friend to hop on and he was set to make a crazy build, but this update removed all want to get on it. Even the weapon have cool ideas but now you are stuck using what they gave you and tokens unless you spend money there no real way to get a new weapon, they made the free hunt pass not even worth doing woohoo you get 25 weapon token at the end when you need 100 and the week challenge gives you 10 and there only 6 week of them (idk if you get more than 10 but even so the weekly challenge if it only 10 you can get that 60 + the 25 you get from hunt pass 85 can't even buy a new weapon with what they given you)

STEAM GOT 15% positive, what happened to dauntless, i quit before hunting ground where there, playing for 2 weeks with all the "old systems" before the update, but that one holy moly i stick to POE2 for now and other games i got (BBR, HD2) maybe if ohdough does some more dauntless content i look into it again :3
they should have removed the reforging mechanic and added the weapon swap, pets, new behemoth, new island and even the new exotic weapons. And lastly, they should not have touched the cell mechanic that we had. this would have been good enough to introduce new players and make old ones come back.
Man I hate this update. Everything I had is now lost, you have none of the cool special and I don't see a way to get them. The main story is dry, it's basically get to level 10,20,30, etc. The perk system is AWFUL, it's so hard to build and the amount they require to even be active is unreasonable. Guess it's time to leave for good
Over a year wait for a worst version of the game. Lootboxes galore, removing previously held content to shove them into the stores at ABSURD prices. Performance is worst. Build crafting is worst. Progress basically got FULLY reset, all aside from cosmetics (which by the way most got removed too). Every single aspect of this update is made the game worst... and the worst part is that some higher up, alongside the Devs, thought this was all a good idea. When someone says glazing isn't that bad of a thing, show them this game. This is the results of unimpeded glazing, when echos in a echo chamber grow too loud. It's been fun Dauntless but now it's time to put you out to pasture. Thanks PHX Labs, money grabbing mobile sucking trogs.
Why does it matter if you're being negative about the game? Are you supposed to be happy when a company makes horrible decisions and continues to somehow make a game worse and worse with each patch? I think this has to be one of, if not THE worst UI I have ever seen in any game to this date. But I should be happy about that? It's such a weird cope. They take criticism as an attack against themselves and so CC's can lose benefits they have because of it. I forgot the channel because I stopped keeping up with Dauntless along time ago, but this happened to the trials dude when there was going to be a big content drop and he spoke negatively about it. But there's alot of people just glazing alot of theses companies even though there's no risk to actually speaking their mind about the game. If you point out an issue, it can get fixed/improved/whatever. But people just want to eat shit and enjoy it these days sadly
Yeah, not gonna lie...it is pretty uninspiring. It should have been so much more. Expectations (or rather what was promised): Each weapon of the same class will feel more unique (if I remember correctly at some point it was even said that they will have different move sets as well). Reality: Weapon customization and lanterns were removed, so you've lost build variety. And most (if not all) "new" weapons are a mish-mash of already existing abilities and passives. Heck, the only unique move-set (as far as I can tell) is that of Hunger...and that is literally just the old sword combos, so not even that is new...

Yeee, lanterns added another button on a short timer. The game has regressed in terms of it's pace ever since they nerfed attack speed pre-reforge

Try using both repeaters you will notice a cool thing. Switch to umbral repeaters back to back can get u a lot of damage and dodge is easy.

Yeah like even MH you can equip gem(don't remember what it call) and unequipped as much as you want

They didnt add anything new on the contrary they just re organized what we had and removed or locked somethings behind paywalls or extensive grind to make it feel "new" I want to give them the chance and think they were forced to make the game so hard in microtransactions or simply they want to get some money before it dies in any way they can think of, instead of making the game fun to play its pay to play

If someone needs fps fix, since game settings doesn't work properly, they are there:
X:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Archon\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\GameUserSettings.ini
Make a file backup, in case you break something and change them as you like.
Resolution quality can be dropped to 50 which feels like old low settings, but somehow more washed out. (Maybe even 25, haven't tested)
Other properties can be dropped to 0 if you want, but keep view distance high, it's important for gameplay, otherwise you just won't see projectiles \ lasers and such.

i really tried to be optimistic about this update but it’s just not it. it doesn’t have the same dauntless vibe it used to have, even the ramsgate feels off. i hope the devs have a revelation cuz their about to lose all of their players
this might be the worst title update in the history of video games, not being hyperbolic. I don't have words to describe entirely how terrible everything is. I was really excited to try this and now I just want the old Dauntless back. Here is hoping they just reverse all of the changes, because holy cow, what a disaster.
its a real shame you got me to wanna hop on and i was enjoying the game even got my friend to hop on and he was set to make a crazy build, but this update removed all want to get on it. Even the weapon have cool ideas but now you are stuck using what they gave you and tokens unless you spend money there no real way to get a new weapon, they made the free hunt pass not even worth doing woohoo you get 25 weapon token at the end when you need 100 and the week challenge gives you 10 and there only 6 week of them (idk if you get more than 10 but even so the weekly challenge if it only 10 you can get that 60 + the 25 you get from hunt pass 85 can't even buy a new weapon with what they given you)
If you use m.2 ssd make sure it is not getting hot and it has thurmal pads or thermal part on top of it to make it not heating a lot.
honestly heartbreaking to see what this game has become, it feels at every chance they had the wrong choice was made
Tried to log in while forgetting they did this update then almost immediately closed the game after. Not fond of this update and its changes. The lack of players Im seeing in ramsgate as soon as i get in seems to agree.

Yes. Basically all my 800 hours were completely reset. Excluding armour & weapon skins and colors.

STEAM GOT 15% positive, what happened to dauntless, i quit before hunting ground where there, playing for 2 weeks with all the "old systems" before the update, but that one holy moly
i stick to POE2 for now and other games i got (BBR, HD2) maybe if ohdough does some more dauntless content i look into it again :3
they should have removed the reforging mechanic and added the weapon swap, pets, new behemoth, new island and even the new exotic weapons. And lastly, they should not have touched the cell mechanic that we had. this would have been good enough to introduce new players and make old ones come back.

Man I hate this update. Everything I had is now lost, you have none of the cool special and I don't see a way to get them. The main story is dry, it's basically get to level 10,20,30, etc. The perk system is AWFUL, it's so hard to build and the amount they require to even be active is unreasonable. Guess it's time to leave for good

Over a year wait for a worst version of the game. Lootboxes galore, removing previously held content to shove them into the stores at ABSURD prices. Performance is worst. Build crafting is worst. Progress basically got FULLY reset, all aside from cosmetics (which by the way most got removed too). Every single aspect of this update is made the game worst... and the worst part is that some higher up, alongside the Devs, thought this was all a good idea. When someone says glazing isn't that bad of a thing, show them this game. This is the results of unimpeded glazing, when echos in a echo chamber grow too loud. It's been fun Dauntless but now it's time to put you out to pasture. Thanks PHX Labs, money grabbing mobile sucking trogs.

Why does it matter if you're being negative about the game? Are you supposed to be happy when a company makes horrible decisions and continues to somehow make a game worse and worse with each patch? I think this has to be one of, if not THE worst UI I have ever seen in any game to this date. But I should be happy about that? It's such a weird cope. Anything you dislike about anything should be stated, otherwise how are they meant to improve. Now, them listening, well that is sadly never going to happen, as proven by the decline of the game and them yet again making the game somehow even worse.

They take criticism as an attack against themselves and so CC's can lose benefits they have because of it. I forgot the channel because I stopped keeping up with Dauntless along time ago, but this happened to the trials dude when there was going to be a big content drop and he spoke negatively about it. But there's alot of people just glazing alot of theses companies even though there's no risk to actually speaking their mind about the game. If you point out an issue, it can get fixed/improved/whatever. But people just want to eat shit and enjoy it these days sadly

Yeah, not gonna lie...it is pretty uninspiring. It should have been so much more.
Expectations (or rather what was promised): Each weapon of the same class will feel more unique (if I remember correctly at some point it was even said that they will have different move sets as well).
Reality: Weapon customization and lanterns were removed, so you've lost build variety. And most (if not all) "new" weapons are a mish-mash of already existing abilities and passives.
Heck, the only unique move-set (as far as I can tell) is that of Hunger...and that is literally just the old sword combos, so not even that is new...
