Burning wood fire place with a flat cooking top would certainly help cut your gaz consumption by cooking or hitting your food too while hitting the basement.
you could temporary out the window IF you triple wall pipe it..We have a flat top wood stove its 18 x 24 and we heat our house easily with it..matter a fact we get it hot in here..Its also on legs and is about 3o in high..you find out that oak and cherry burns hotter..and a cord of wood is 4 x 8 long..one row.
A cord is 2X4X16. Beware of burning the red cedar, it will pop coals out big time. I love to hear the crackle it makes but that popping glowing embers out is not fun.
By description... A cord is 4'x4' x8' Rick is 2'x4'x8' If you buy 16" cut wood you can get 3 16' long logs out of a 48" length of tree. It's inevitable that you will not get what you actually order since most amateur cutters have no idea how to do math....or what these standards are.
I would suggest trying to find a wood stove that has a flat top and a flue that also goes out the top. They are the best for cooking on, and the most efficient at burning clean.
Great job guys! It is looking so good. It's hard to tell on the video, but I don't think you will need to fill and sand much more. You did an awesome job Marcel. Gage works so hard to keep the homestead running for y'all. Are you looking to get a wood stove? Have an awesome week guys! Ok, wood stove. Since your not finished upstairs, I say a woodstove. You could even cook on it, I remember my Aunt/Uncle, had wood stoves to heat their house, one in the bedroom, small round one, she had a big wood stove in the kitchen. cooked on it every winter. Nothing like some fresh baked bread.
Wood stove one that has flat surface so you can cook on it all day like a pot of chili beans soup anything woodstoves can heat up your place better then a fire place
Chunkalumpas🤣 Sanding Sheetrock was our least favorite thing to do at the old property. I think Jackie wants one of those eye massagers. The heater placement by the window for now is only temporary so, I'd go with it. Outdoor furnace would really be the awesome way to complete the house later on 👊
Brick/block walls even with them filled get a lot colder than a stick built exterior wall with insulation. If it’s on ur outside wall it will help keep the temp more even.
Hi Denise, Marcel and Gage, hey Gage I love the red colour in the cedar fire wood. The food you guys cook always looks so good, yum. You guys are killing it with the dry wall and tapping and mudding, looks professional to me. Have you got any more deer yet Gage? Take care guys!! 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
I think the outside wood boiler is a great thought 👍 but I'd get a small wood stove and go through the window for this winter ~ we had one piped through the family room window opening and cook on it when the power went out 👍
Hello from Mount Shasta, California we got 2 feet of snow today. I am so glad you’re getting a woodstove. You won’t regret it. I’ve got mine burning right now.
Marcel is a wacky dude...😂😂😂Denise is the level headed one. 😂🎉❤Gage doesn't jabber as much as dad, so he gets things done a bit faster😂😂. Gage is a real hard worker. ❤
Regency stoves, I put an insert in my grandma’s old fireplace when I bought their house, but I would love to have a flat top where you could put a pot of stew or soup on there and cook it up
Messy job that sanding , when i do big job`s i go to the linen closet and cover the bed with a sheet, throw another over the dresser`s. Bed time come`s, take off the sheet, give it a good shake outdoors and it is ready for the next days sanding..
Hi, looks like cedar wood. Not sure but it’s very pretty all stacked up. I just had my second eye done with cataract surgery. Congratulations on finishing your first coat of drywall, the rest will go easier. Love watching your work on the basement. You should be so proud. God Bless, Judy
Take 1 window pane out cut a piece of cement board in its place cut a hole through it for the pipe. But youll need a tall pipe to get the smoke all the over your roof. Full cord is 4x4x8, face cord is half that.
Hey Marcel how you doing today hi Denise how you doing hey you guys are doing good job how's Gabe doing today all right guys have a great day and God bless both of you and all three of you❤
Should be able to find a wood burner easy. I'd just make an insert of wood on a window that you can run the duct out. Not permanent but still venting. Can you do the top pane?
You want a wood burning stove that will heat the whole house. It’s too late to do it now, but when you were building the house, you could have installed PEX tubing under the concrete floor and plumbed it into a tank that got heated by a wood fired boiler. But that’s something that you needed to do in the planning phase of the project long before you even broke ground. So now you’re going to have to run duct work to be able to heat all of the rooms, or you’re going to have to install a propane fired furnace.
I know sheetrock is cheaper than wood paneling but by the time you do all of the work plus buying all of the mud and tools you need to get sheetrock ready to paint, I think wood paneling is less labor intensive and when you are through putting it on your done. Sheetrock just has a few things that are probably better such as it's fire resistant, you can change the colors any time you want. To me that's about it. Back in the 70's I used sheetrock and I worked my a$$ off to get it right. Never did change the colors and my sister still lives in the house and I don't think she has changed the colors either lol. I said I would never use anything except wood paneling after that. I have built new house, rent to own a house and 40 acres of land, and bought the house that I live in now and stripped it down to the 2x4's and replaced all of the wiring, insulated all of the outside wall and inside walls and you guessed it. I put1/4 inch thick wood paneling in it. Been here since 2007 and wouldn't change a thing. Loved watching your shows but I think I am ALWAYS late lol. Except for your last live. Lol. I think I should have taken the shut up pill for that live.
Plus you wouldn’t have too cut in too your wall you will injoy a wood burning stove you can find one with a glass door just get one that has a flat surface so you can cook on it there is nothing like a meal that has been cooking on a wood stove all day plus I remember as a kid when the Electric went out because the snow was too heavy on the lines & the propane truck could not get to us to fill the tank all we had was the wood-burning stove to cook out and just stay warm so that’s reason I would choose the wood burning stove especially as far out as y’all live.
Hi Denise, Marcel and Gage, that's some great looking wood. Gage has really been working hard . Breakfast looks delicious. I know it was. Love the humor Marcel and your laugh Denise. That is really nice for your eyes. And would make your eyes feel so good plus music too. Thats neat. Great review Denise. Y'all are doing a great job on the mudding. Hope you get to feeling better Marcel. That sounds like a good idea about a wood stove . To take the window out, enclose it with a piece of wood and put the pipe out that way. It would be hard to run all the way up to the roof. A flat wood burning stove is good to cook or warm up water on. Have a great weekend and God Bless ❤
Make the fire place go out sideways rather then the top alot better to clean out in a T peice to have look at (Sean in Alaska ) You tuber he did his on the wall on the side and alot easier only one hole to cut in the side of the house there !!!!!!
I wouldn't put a chimney in, I would frame in the window and run the stove pipe out there... It would be easy to change back later if you wanted to do that, and at some point, you probably will.

I think there is one in South Dakota with your name on it being stored in a heated garage! While deciding use window for venting.
❤️❤️❤️SD i wish we could make that trip. we love that state

Check into a pellet stove you only have to fill the hopper about every 3 days tax check out tractor supply or lowes
We'll have to look into that! ❤️❤️❤️
A cord is 8’ long x4’ deep x4’ high. In other words 4’x4’x8’
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Without the wood check if the air goes through it could heat up and catch on fire

Was it 🧐 three face cords equal a bush cord
