@@Ed.E HGV drivers are professional drivers, probably more aware than most of the roads. It is rubbish drivers people get confused over. The type that get distracted by people on the pavement, passing vehicles, something on the radio etc. Most can think and do different things at the same time and have no problem driving. Rubbish drivers will crash no matter what the distraction, it is their lack of intelligence that is the problem.

This is awesome work and truly saving peoples lives. I can't understand why we don't see more of this, as the fines alone would cover the expenses. Every single time I drive or look out the window of my house there's many who use their phones, eat whilst driving, speed, etc. etc. So much so that 30%-40% of the drivers I see are breaking the rules and/or driving dangerously.
You haven't got a clue what pressure you are put under doing this job whilst being away from your family for weeks or months at a time and all those sme smelly pigs want is your wages.

You will find most HGVs are limited to 56 mph, BUT they can legally do 60 mph in the UK. That 56 mph came from good old Europe but it only applies to European registered trucks. Not UK registered trucks although most seem to be limited except 8 wheel tippers, they are legally allowed to drive as fast as possible to get that extra load in🤣🤣🤣🤣

I have see this “undercover lorry” on the M1 before and I drive a 3.5t maxi mover van which is limited to 70mph and I could not catch this lorry up when it passed me.
I just don’t understand why they still take and use their phone why they drive. Mine goes into my boot in my bag or stays on the passenger floor in the bag. I have hands well in the car but choose not to use it. People are just to attached to their phones. I always said if I end up in a accident with someone using their phone, they better make sure they are injured, if not they will be when I get hold of them if I’m able.

All these small details are reducing impacts to road fatalities and impacts on other road users, but the highway code also recommends that road users should keep 2 chevrons apart for safety, as the police are supposed to be there to keep us safe I would have expected this to have happened but from 0:16 this doesn't seem to be the case.
If you look at the stats - everyone claims the schemes are not working as they say rates have increased year on year. It shows what a waste of money they are and how ineffective they are as it's rubbish drivers we need to stop - also driving examiners that are passing people that appear not to meet the required standard.

I would like to see screens and data terminals in emergency vehicles banned unless they face the passenger only. You watch the shows about emergency services and the driver is often reading out what is on the screen and playing with it whilst it clearly shows their eyes are not on the road for seconds at a time. That is really dangerous. There is no exemption for this.

It was only for about four hours and the count was quite high on a no more particularly busy afternoon than normal on a summer's day one fine week day, and the total was, from immediate recollection, about twenty two or twenty four drivers driving illegally. Horse Trams run on Tramlines, obviously! 😊

I was working near derby road in Nottingham an i actually saw one of the police interceptors a woman with dark hair and if you watch it youll know who i mean which is filmed in Nottingham, drinking at the wheel clear as day from a black sports bottle, one rule for the police and one for the public
