Kulgam terror attack: 6 terrorists, 2 soldiers killed in twin encounters, search operation underway

- Security forces in Jammu neutralised six terrorists, following back-to-back encounters in J&K’s Kulgam in the last 24 hours. Two Indian jawans also lost their lives in the fierce duel as the counter-terrorist operations lasted for approximately 29 hours. The encounter ended on the evening of July 09, with security forces launching a massive search operation in the area. Notably, J&K has witnessed numerous terror attacks in the last few months since April.

Indian Army officially uses 'Killed in Action' term for dead soldiers. There is no concept of Shaheed or Martyred in the Indian Army.
Christians were called martyred when they died in Religious battles. Muslims were called Shaheed when they died in religious battles.
