I've been seeing Jorma live for 50 years now, most recently with Jack, playing as Electric Hot Tuna at his Fur Peace Ranch. That was a couple of months ago. In all that time I've never seen him play a shit show. I've followed some other acts over the years and everybody has a shitty show sometimes, but not Jorma. He can be counted on to turn in a flawless performance every time. You gotta' admire that.
There is only ONE JORMA. I hope to meet and play with him soon. The mans a goddamned legend, and he was friends with my friend, David Crosby. Love him.
He and Jack used to perform at a biker bar called The Chatau, in the hills above Los Gatos Calif back in the mid seventies, once with Papa John Creech.
Very cool, aerialcat1 and Robert Mayer. I saw them with Papa John at the Cowtown Palace, Kansas City during May and Nov. of 1972, playing electric, just as they are in this 1973 performance of Water Song > th-cam.com/video/AOOQ1woZWQY/w-d-xo.html culled from a larger 25 min. set also on TH-cam.
@@robertrichman6873 it was the winter of 72-73, and the bar was an old Girl Scout camp on a dirt road, that the Hells’s Angels liked to hang out at... very colorful all round.
Jorma most underrated guitarist ever. I've been blessed to see him twice. Just amazing!

I loved this song so much, I bought it on vinyl just for this one song and don't ever get tired of hearing it. Now, I play it myself.
I've love this man for so long
One of the prettiest guitar pieces.

Yep. Chateau Liberte, nicknamed The Chateau by us locals. Great memories.

defo one of the best, ever
Thanks for your wonderful song Jorma. I once composed a song I called The Water Song, as well. Very different and certainly without your virtuosity.
I always thought this song - a fav from the era - had a sci-fi element to it. Just beautiful and yet ... pensive.
