- Are you a Copper Penny Hoarder? I am, and in this video I will show you the results I get from copper penny hoarding 1 box of pennies. I thing copper penny hoarding is a fun hobby, and when the day is done your hobby has made you just a bit more valuable. Most hobbies cost you money, but not hoarding copper pennies. I hope you enjoy the video.
Penny hunting and collecting mat: www.ebay.com/i... or www.ebay.com/i...
(order 2 or more of my mats and receive a wheat penny as a bonus)
While hoarding copper pennies, you will also find a good number of wheat pennies for collecting as well.

Hello Gabby. I just finished a Canadian quarter hunt. box 0f $500.00 Found a 2020 Weir Farm Westpoint coin. Very excited. My second west point coin. Looking forward to see what you find with bag of Dimes. 👍👍
@@blueman2012 I'll post the video tomorrow, another viewer suggested I start a new silver dime goal until the end of the year. He suggested 25 or 50, what do you say? I was thinking maybe 30.. congratulations on the West point coin.
Back on the dimes! 🎉🎆 💣 new goal 25 by the end of the year, 50 would have been nice tho
Sounds good, let's say, 30 silver dimes by the end of the years. I'll post another dime video tomorrow...
Nothing made of metal leaves my place inside or out. I will sell scrap metal. You're doing good on copper keep it up. Thank you for sharing.👍
Thank you. I keep metal and eventually get enough to take to the scrap yard. I hate seeing metal go to the land fill. I've taken pieces of metal to the scrap yard a few times and just gave to them because my wife wanted it out of the way, but I'd rather see someone get use out of it, rather than going to landfill.
Good for you, I do the same. I take all metal and have different buckets for copper ,brass, aluminum, and iron for the scrap yard. Also the Cu cents will see what happens several years from now.
@@jamiejafolla9251 I don't exactly hug trees or anything, but I hate seeing so much stuff go to waste
👍
Pretty good box overall...extra wheaties, some Canadian, and even a dime to invest with. Makes up for the somewhat lacking Copper content. Keep stacking that Copper to the rafters!
Thank you, yes, it was a pretty good box. I'd like to get several boxes from West Virginia again. My friend there pretty consistently gets a dozen wheaties or more, and most of the time gets 4 pounds of copper.. But he almost never gets a dime. LoL
Great video again. I had a fantastic silver hunt this week, for myself. 11-90% halves, 19 clad 40%!! Searched 4 boxes. Woo-hoo
@@timgrote7163 wow, fantastic, I got 3 boxes of new stuff. LoL.... But I did find 10 silver dimes. (2 merca, and a king George)
I didn’t get any boxes from the bank but I always check my change and I have 1.6 pounds 🤠👍
@@Difficultcat7000 that's pretty cool
Has anyone besides me, been finding more wheat cents than normal? Great video Sir!
@@quarter-py4nr hmmm, I think my finds are fairly the same...
My friend's father passed away late last year. She inherited boxes of rolls of copper pennies. Most were uncirculated bank rolls from the 60s and 70s. She had no idea why was he collecting them or even knew he had them. Knowing I am a collector she asked me for advice. I looked at the collection and my best advice to her is to bring a box of mix dates to a couple coin dealers and see if they were interested. She did and they said no. The best advice they gave her was to just deposit them at the bank. That was a problem she didn't want. Luckily she worked at the B of A and managed to deposit them but not at the same time. Apparently banks frown when you try to deposit large amount of change. There is paperwork the bank have to do to transfer from their vault to the "central distribution" bank. Let this be a warning to hoarders or even stackers. Have a plan. Talk to potential heirs if they want it. They may prefer to get the worthless fiat because they can be useful to get stuff like groceries. You may even want to liquidate all and spend it on yourself before you move on from this world.
Just because one dealer didn't want it doesn't mean no one will. Here is an eBay link. 3 old copper rolls $19 plus shipping www.ebay.com/itm/305770522775?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=URruIUXgRC6&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=C-usrh51RLm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=MORE
Each 50 cent roll sold for $6
I never made an effort to collect coins, but I do set aside wheat-pennies when I find them. I might have 200-300 of them in a box and have no idea what I'll do with them. I jokingly refer to it as my "treasure box".
Well at 1 buck per a penny you have at least 300 buckerooos
@@jeanious2009 I'd be shocked if anyone offered me that much. I'd happily part with them for half that.
Well, it may not be a huge treasure box, but a treasure box just the same
I'm working on 26th box, 15lbs per box.
Wow, that's really good... Cool beans
So Twosheds what do you do with the Wheat Cents that you find? Of all the copper still out there those are probably the most sought after by collectors I would think.
@@pierredubord I just keep them by 50s, 40s & then all the older ones, I roll them up when I get 50.. I also try to fill my coin folders ( I just purchased several more, so first of next year I'll work on trying to start filling them with the wheaties I have rolled up.
@@TwoshedsGabby very cool, there is a decent premium in a roll of 50, far above the copper value. Again, good hunting with your upcoming gold panning trip.
Copper is so cheap though. @4.50 a lb isn’t much, you need several hundred pounds before you even have $1-2k in metal.
I agree, it takes a bit to add up. But it does just keep adding up, and I just keep saving it.
4.50 now, check this post in 10-15 years
Is it right or wrong to hoard copper penny's ? I do hoard coppers only to sell at a later date ! Some say they will melt them for there copper but im not sure thats legal but who would ever know !
It is illegal, but I'm sure some people do it. When you get a coin (or even ten thousand coins) they are yours to decide what to do with, spend them or save them But don't melt them.
I meant to say illegal ! My bad !
@@scottymoondogjakubin4766 no problem, it's illegal to melt for the sake of selling the commodity, but it's ok to melt some for artistic reasons
