Mbrp is a great exhaust, I have the 4 inch cat back 304 stainless on my 2021 5.0 , it sounds great, only really gets loud when you hit the gas hard , sounds like a 5.0 should 👍
Outstanding video...I appreciate you taking the time to post this. I have been in the market for a new exhaust system. You have definitely made the process a lot easier.
Love this for the same reason you do- Prefer a smoother, less raspy, deep sound. This is the only one I've heard that does that. May drone more than something like the Corsa would, but I want that nice smooth burbly sound.
And I wonder if the Chevrolet with the same engine you were talking about got better fuel economy with the 10 speed automatic and the limited slip differential or since it does not have the cylinder deactivation of the fuel economy would be may be a half mile per gallon to 1 mile per gallon difference. I definitely agree that they should powder coat the living crap out of the frame and the inside of the bumper and anywhere rust can start and I’m assuming having the shock absorbers mounted where they are helps reduce the rear end, jumping all over the place on rough roads when you’re on loaded
Sounds really good and was a lot louder than I thought until you said, it doesn't wake the neighbors - which I live in a subdivision and don't want to do. I have been considering the Borla "Touring" as I want more than the stock sound but NOT something that will "wake the neighbors." Did you consider the Borla's? I think they are a lot more expensive. Did you do the install yourself or have a shop the the install?
I did look at Borla but the cost was more than double so it wasn’t in the budget for me. I installed myself & it took about an hour. I just backed it up on some ramps so I could get under it easier & have more room to wiggle the stock out.
At the end of your video did u say that you also installed a chip ? I own a 2011 f150 w the 5.0 and have been watching videos here on YT just gathering facts. I shouldn’t be surprised but now your telling me Ford has a electronic controller to regulate how many cylinders are firing? And this engages while driving versus just shutting the truck off at a red light? Nice looking truck, and your exhaust sounds good, does it aid your fuel mileage? Thanks, happy new year.
I did not install a chip. Ford did add cylinder deactivation on the 2021 V8. A lot of people aren’t happy about it. To answer your last question, I haven’t noticed a difference in fuel mileage after adding the exhaust.
Paradox muffler if the key to no drone . I had the same exhaust . Drone gets old especially with family in the car . Slapped a paradox muffler sounds way better with no highway drone over 75.
Sounds good, got a 22 xlt v8 on order. Looking at a mbrp xp single exhaust race version. Really curious how the sound compares vs the installer series as the xp has the 409 more corrosion resistant steel
At the time I purchased I couldn’t find any stainless version in stock. That & price were the biggest reason I went with the aluminized steel. It should last a good while though. I may do another video without the resonator. I’ve also thought about straight piping the muffler too to see how much different it sounds.
I just put this on my 23 f150 5.0 and man I didn’t know the cylinder deactivation would be so bad it drones like a helicopter ughhhhh if it was for that. Gotta run tow haul 24/7 or hear that terrible sound
I also added the mbrp dual side rear swept exit with includes their own resonator on my 5.0L 6 speed 2016F150 platinum. sounds great but i find the resonating in the cab too loud when pulling my trailer which the trany seems to stay in 5th gear most of the time. i'm thinking of switching out the resonator to the stock one to see if that will improve it. otherwise great Canadian built quality kit and went in without much problem
Mine isn't bad at all but I have the 10 speed. I am thinking about just cutting the muffler off the stock exhaust to see how different it is. If it sounds good I may do another video.
Great video, i agree on the deep notes over the cracking and popping. So my wife has a 18 5.0 f150 and i want to do a mild upgrade. We do tow a horse trailer so i don’t want to go more than a mild exhaust. I am torn between your mbrp and the borla touring. Any advice? If truck is driven easy, does it stay nice and mild? Sounds perfect to me and half the cost of borla. Thanks, Claude
Claude I haven’t personally heard the Borla touring but I know they are proud of their product. The MBRP does stay mild & low tone as long as you’re just driving normal. It gets a little rowdy if you stomp on it but even then it isn’t overbearing. There is a little drone around 75 when it shifts down into 9th & 8th & sometimes a little bit in 10th but it’s not bad. At 60 just cruising down the highway you barely even hear it. I have the resonator & muffler installed & the kit comes with a flange pipe for a resonator delete. I figured it will just make it louder. It’s a good kit for the price. Cheapest I found it was on summit racing.
Borla s is deep. Roush is deep. This is drone city I can tell. It sounds better stock then this. The borla is the way to go. If you don't want popping. Don't get the attack. Get the s. For a muscle low sound. Best out there with no drone
So I have a 2016 F150 with a 5.0 in it and I'm looking at buying the same exhaust. Did your come with the resonator? Plus do you have the short box or do you have a 6.5ft box?
It did come with a resonator & a flange pipe without a resonator so you can choose. I have the 5’ 7” short box but the kit I bought would work for a 6.5’ box because I had to cut a little off of it. It comes with measuring instructions though for cutting the proper length.
The only way right now is to put it in sport or tow haul mode. The only other way is to install a whipple supercharger & the tune from whipple deactivates it
Sounds good brother though I would've gone with the dual exhaust to make it sound really nasty. I have a 2011 Ford F150 with a 5.0L Coyote V8 with the Borla exhaust and it sounds like a beastth-cam.com/video/a8sh2WLSs7w/w-d-xo.html
Thanks! I just didn’t want it to be too loud & overbearing. Borla is a little bit proud of their product too… but I guess that all goes back to “you get what you pay for”

Sure does brother
You have a video just got the 4 inch coming tomorrow
Feel like it’s loud did revs next to a mustang and my truck sounded way louder and deeper

Thank you sir!
Even over video this sounds fantastic. I'm looking into buying one of these trucks, my first Ford, and this video is pushing me over to the 5.0, haha.

Greetings from Frankfort brother , just got my 22 f150 with the yote 💪🏽
Beautiful truck, I got a 2019 XLT in Gray but the Silver and chrome on yours pops sooo good, really great truck!
Thanks!
Sounds good. I prefer the raw sound of the Flowmaster super 10, even against borla and corsa. Flowmaster super 10 is just raw forever.
Yes, the video did help. Thank You for making it.
You’re welcome
It sounds good. I may have to try and convince my fiancé to get this system for her 2017 with the 5.0.

I’m so happy mine doesn’t have the cylinder deactivation
Thats what i got on my 2018 f150 5.0 and its just perfect!
I agree! It’s not too loud & just loud enough to really hear it. The popping & cracking like you would get with the Borla attack just isn’t for me.
MBRP makes the best sounding exhaust imho 👍🏻
Agreed!

Thank you!

@@TheRecreationLodge It sounds good, price may be the deciding factor. If it's worth the extra $ and trying to find the xp in stock

I had the MBRP on my 2011 5.0 and the drone at highway speed got old fast. Magnaflow is sooooo much better in all aspects.
Mine only has drone at 75 or more when it shifts down to 9th or 8th
@@TheRecreationLodge that’s good, difference between the 10 speed and 6 speed. I loved it at startup and in town but going 70-75 down I-5 got old.

do a 0-80 pull those 10 speed 5.0 are FAST

Was wondering is it a dual exit driver side and passenger side because your video shows it running only with the passenger side
@@peterscott2097 single exit passenger side
Nice truck man! 5.0 coyote is a badass engine! How much u spend? 50k?
I'm working on making a side by side comparison video with a Chevy 2021 LT crew. I'll be talking numbers on both. You're close!

Do you happen to have a part number on the kit? I keep looking at one that looks like the one you bought but it keeps telling me it won't fit.
@@charliedziedzic6201 for a 2016 it will be a different part number. They reversed the flange on the 2021 so it’s a different flange pipe.

Is this a 3" or 4" exhaust video?
@@miketrujeque1329 3” with a 4” tip
Is that a spray on bed liner? If so any issues with having the liner installed? I’ve heard off some kind of sensor issues
Yes actually. The reverse brake assist. If you have it done make sure you check that before you leave with the truck. In that battle right now.
@@TheRecreationLodge I think I’m just gonna get the rubber mat for mine
Does this exhaust system with the resonator or no resonator?
With resonator
Mbrp 3 inch or 4 inch?? Factory Ford is 3
@@brandonmacon3317 3 inch with a 4 inch tip
How’s the drone inside the cab at highway speeds on a long trip?
It comes & goes depending on how much your foot is in it. Noticeable for sure at 75 when it shifts down but overall it’s not terrible.
Was this with or without the resonator?
With the resonator.
i have a 2016 f150 ecoboost, i want to get a louder exhaust, any tips ?
MBRP makes the same setup for an eco-boost. I don’t have any experience on how it would sound though. It should definitely make it louder.
Do you know how to turn off cylinder deactivation.
The only way right now is to put it in sport or tow haul mode. The only other way is to install a whipple supercharger & the tune from whipple deactivates it
is this with or without the mbrp resonator?
This is with the MBRP resonator
The reason i got a V8 5.0 was it wasn't a V6.
Nothing beats the sound of a V8… you know except for maybe a Ferrari V12 lol
resonator or delete?

Any drone?
Very little around 75MPH but only when it shifts down to 8th or 9th
