Worth the price for a clone… hard to find atm in stores! And it’s only going to go up in value the threaded barrel is 3-400 $ more than the regualr
To me good defensive rounds help compensate for smaller calibers. I like the idea of 9mm for defense so i dont shoot through my neighbors house
Looks good! I’m picking up one that I ordered tomorrow. Going to sbr it and put a binary trigger in to complete the kit and make it 922R compliant. I think the trigger, hammer, sear and both disconnectors might count, plus a US front grip to make the 6 parts. Maybe a US mag baseplate or follower if not. I like your B&T stock over the Choate I think. This will round out my binary roller lock collection nicely especially after my pending V53 sbr gets approved.

So glad i picked one of these up when they were $899 with case, sling, cleaning kit, and picattiny. Now they are $1800 😮

i paid 1k for one and came with case, cleaning kit, flash hider, and rail mount.
Great price, but a threaded barrel is a must.

I recently bought a AP5-M from Atlantic Firearms for $859 and got a file to fit special. Who ever assembled the gun apparently couldn’t get the magazine to fit properly apparently due to a slight dimensional issue with the stamped sheer metal of the upper so instead of rejecting the unit they decided to file on the bottom and front edges of the hole in the mag well that the magazine catch fits into so as to allow it to angle down several degrees and allow the magazine to fit. At first I didn’t see the issue but felt the sharp metal edges where the mag catch hole had been enlarged. Pretty sloppy work for a company that produces these guns for military sale. I contacted Atlantic and they got ahold of Century arms who contacted me so we’ll have to see how they resolve this issue. Frankly, Atlantic should do a quick visual inspection of incoming guns because after feeling the sharp metal edges left by the filing I turned the gun over and the problem was readily visible.
Because of this I ordered a Zenith ZP5K Essentials model yesterday because they had them on sale for $1100. My advice is spend a little bit more and get the higher quality of the Zenith gun.
Very interesting. I've never experienced that after owning 3 different MKE built models, but these things can happen with mass production I guess.
@@EchoDelta2A I originally purchased all three MKE models and they all looked and worked great. I ended up selling the -P and -M models late last year but regretted the decision to sell the -M and bought my current one when Atlantic them on sale. My disappointment is that something obvious slipped through final QA inspection at the factory and also at Atlantic if they do a visual on their received shipments.
So now at the very least I’m probably going to have to ship the gun back to Century and who knows how long they’re going to take to resolve the issue…Or how they’re going to resolve it since the issue involves permanent alteration of the receiver which means the gun would have to be replaced and I’ll be out the fees for my FFL to receive the gun and do the paperwork.
The day after I noticed this problem I received a notice from Zenith that all their guns were on discount sale so I sprang for their ZP5K Essentials model. If Century replaces the gun I just sell on Guns Arizona.
Paulie: interesting to read. I've literally read the exact opposite, where people have issues with Zeniths and comment on their suspect build quality, and are fans of the AP5 by Century arms. The one advantage of the Zenith for sure is the lifetime warranty. But I've read hit or miss experiences with their customer service

Ohhhh yes, they are very well made. Very accurate, shame can't use the boom stick grip.

Yup, same one. Just looked for the first one in stock I could find but so long as it's labeled the Botach Ultra Low Profile mount for mp5, you should be good 👍

Can you swap the barrel in these to threaded? I found one for cheap and wanted to know first hand. Can’t seem to find any info on this.
Not easily. They are pinned so if you're wanting the threaded version, you need the AP5-P

They are pretty cool but I just can't get over the difficulty loading a full mag on closed bolt... the whole process of having to lock the bolt open, remove mag, insert new, and slap the handle - while it "looks holywood cool" is just slow. Drives me crazy.
I usually load 29 for that reason lol

I don't blame you. Definitely wacky times we're living in. That said, it's awesome that the thing shoots so softly that any type of brace or stock is just a bonus lol.

Where did you get the brace and foregrip?
Got the stock and foregrip from hkparts.net. Word of advice, though. This is a registered SBR, which is why a stock and foregrip are legal to have on it. If yours is still registered as a pistol, you shouldn't install either as it would be illegal to do so.

Did you have to get an adapter for the stock?
I did. If you buy a variant with any type of SB Tactical Brace, just unscrew the brace portion and you can install just about any European stock. If you don't have the adapter, you'll have to find a hinged MP5K adapter to use.

I wish they would take the century arms name away from this. It just leaves a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths from previous crappy century arms firearms. But most people don't understand these are not built by century arms they are simply an importer. That being said since we arms has seriously up its game and their American bft aks. The imported MKE is as good a quality billed as the h&k mp5. I have put them side to side inspecting welding components metal allergy etc and they are nearly 100% exactly the same. And I have shot both and the MKE ap-5 performs as well as the MP5. I was able to hit a still silhouette 18 by 12 at 60 yards with open sights every time without fail. That being said they have gone from being over $2,000 down to $8.99 and now back up to nearly $1,800 I don't understand the fluctuation

One of the most reliable guns you'll ever shoot, so long as you're not running hollow or flat nose ammo through it. Regular ball, it'll eat it up all day. Even cheap steel, it'll chew through. Just don't use any ammo that isn't round.

That paint that AP5-M comes with is jank it flakes right away.. But whatever jank you put on gotta be better than what comes with it.. its aight.
