Dina, thank you for showing this. :) You mentioned the use of black gesso as well, how about next time you show something that can be used with both white and black gesso - divide the project in 2 and show it with both. :)
I just saw a tutorial the other week that warned if you use gesso, it'd better to use airbrush medium to thin your paints, because if you use too much water, there is a good chance that over time the layers you put on top will come off or start to flake, because there isn't enough binder to make it stick. always use (way) less than 30% water. Or just do the background without gesso, use water and then put a layer of clear gesso on top, that should work I think. (I'll see if I can find the video)
Sorry....she calls it "interesting"...I call it "messy" and something that looks like my 3 yr. old grandbaby did it. I've been an artist/crafter for over 40 years, and I have no respect for anyone calling themselves an artist who does not take care of their tools. I have noticed that she never washes ANYTHING and that her hands, brushes, tubes and craft sheet are always filthy, like she can't be bothered. Ranger dumped Claudine Helmuth for THIS??? No thanks.....
+Robin Schaefer Sometimes stopping to wash things out all the time restricts the creative flow. Also, she lends these products out to all her pupils in the classes she teaches all over the world. I in fact like the paint covered products and I love her style and after meeting her, I love her as a person. She is a great teacher who has great patience. So I guess as Reni Fulton said above....different strokes.
Dina you're a great teacher. I use different parts of your techniques and products. Robin Schaefer- curious if your Christian music is your inspiration for your nasty attitude.
Love your creative style Dina! Thank you for your tutorials!
