At 11:21 is exactly why people love these things. Although they seem small and the engines aren't that big, they continue to exceed expectations and they're just so full of charm and character. If i still lived in the states I'd be interested in getting one!

If you haven't found out already, the reason you don't have a working radio is that Japan uses different frequencies for terrestrial radio. Best to just replace the stereo.

It looks like an electric pump for the sink would probably be a great upgrade for that little camper. With the power bank there and the tight space, it might be an idea to get an induction hob so you don't end up smoking yourself (and everything else) out when you cook. As far as personal hygiene goes, it is pretty easy to have a sink wash with just a wash cloth, some shampoo and a bit of hot water. I would suggest buying an electric kettle for the latter part as it doesn't take up much more space than a jug and as such can be tidied away easily enough after use. It would also allow you to make tea, coffee or even instant soups/ramen on the go.

Hey Ryan, there's a guy in Arizona (Larry "Workless Enjoy Life More" youtube channel) who built a truck camper for his Geo Tracker, you guys should try and do a mini truck camp video. His video of it should be up tomorrow, it would be seriously funny seeing you guys rolling around with ya's small campers.
I love this camper. You did an awesome job with it. For the bed, I would of cut a sheet of plywood in half lengthwise and put them together with a piano hinge. Other than that, I think it's great. Nice job!
Just to note; the cooker knob spark needs to be held continually to make it catch, and butter has the lowest smoke point, which is bad for high temps. Try using something (cheap) like vegetable oil. Nice build, man. Enjoying this series.

FYI, you can get 1# propane to iso-butane adapters. Doesn’t work as well, but really nice if you’re in an area where it’s easier to buy propane vs isobutane.

I was browsing amazon and found those folding tablets for RV'S that looks like a storage door latch, but when you open them it actually is a tablet that can hold up to 50 pounds, pretty cool. I feel like this would be perfect size as well for your cooking top. cooking outside and not having cooked food smells in your living space all the time. Also a small deployable awening feel s like would be a super cool upgrade!

In your next update let us know how the mini-truck is doing on fuel? Love the trip up the coast and seeing the MD license plate on that awesome little camper on the opposite side of the country! Makes me wonder what a similar build would be like on a simple half ton extended cab truck chasis.
I've been seriously considering doing this whole van life thing full time. Idk how tall you are, but being able to stand up straight in a vehicle with that small of a footprint actually seems super appealing to me, as a guy who's not very tall (5' 7") and self conscious about driving big vehicles on the road lol
Ryan have you tried flipping the pot rack? upside down over the flame on your camp stove? Ours has ridges to hold in place different size pots or pans. I’m sure you have but, like you said, the pan was sketchy sliding around till you switched to the griddle to place your skillet.

I was thinking for the fold out shelf, what if you turned the entire surface (or replaced it, maybe?) with cutting board! Save ya some room, and stuff wouldn't be sliding around everywhere when you're cutting! Love watching the journey, man!
If you light the stove and then cover it there is no way for the flame to blow out. Also, I know you didn't ask but the reason the turn signals flash so fast is because of the led lights in the rear, the flasher(hardware) is designed for halogen and incandescent filaments. The reduced resistance cause a faster flow of electricity and build up of heat.
