I remember watching this video all those years ago and I will literally remember this video and these products forever (products were basically all sold out at the time). Jaclyn, you were incredible then and you're amazing now!
When you said the bit about people complaining about oily skin, I was like AMEN. I hate it when people complain about having oily skin... dry skin is far worse! In terms of wrinkles, discomfort and itching and makeup catching on your skin! I can never find moisturisers that actually moisturise my skin rather than sitting on top. Using the oil cleansing method has helped a little bit though.
For dryer skin if you're using a lotion to moisturize you may want to check out some moisturizing gels instead. I have combination skin but I use a gel and it's awesome for the dry areas of my face! :)

Ok so for me, I went to a Clinique counter at JCPenny's and they explained the gel -vs- lotion thing to me. I now use a gel in place of a lotion and my brain is completely blanking right now on what the lady actually said to me, lol. BUT if there is a Clinique counter at your local JCPenny's, definitely go talk to them and ask them about it. It has something to do with HOW it moisturizers your skin. :) the only thing is that their products can get a little pricey so after you talk to them you may want to do a little research on other products with similar qualities. But all I know is that I used to use their lotion but switched to the gel and now my skin is hydrated all day long without getting too oily!! (I have combination skin type so some places are dry while others are oily and now it's all pretty much the same)

I know this video is old, but finally Mario Badescu gets some credit in beauty videos. I own many of their products and they are all AMAZING. This brand is so god damn underrated.

I really enjoy them as well, for many reasons, including that they are a cruelty-free skincare company (can be hard to come by) and many if not all of their products are paraben free (I have to research each one to be sure, but most of the products I have tried are paraben free). And then I recently checked the Beautypedia section of the Paula's Choice website, and they had nothing but terrible things to day about MB!! I feel like I don't believe all their criticisms, bc so many of their moisturizers have worked beautifully on me. I also really enjoy their Oil Free Moisturizer with SPF 30, even though it's a chemical SPF (which I think is ok as long as your skin doesn't react badly. The amount of Oxybenzone is only 5%). So I don't know what to believe now, lol! All I know is MB products work well on my skin.

Coconut oil works awesome for me & my kids. I put it anywhere we have dry skin or a rash & it clears it right up. I also love it as a makeup remover & it's really good for you if you eat it too. We like putting it in smoothies.

Try using the sugar with 1tps of lemon and 3tps of honey. Mix and warm it up on your face. Leave on gor 5 mins. Gives you hydration as well as exfoliation. All natural. ;)
comebacksparkles ! Lemon actually is good for skin. Its antibacterial, a natural chemical exfoliant from the citric acid, brightens and tightens the skin, helps heal scars and diminishes dark spots, and has natural enzymes to prevent aging.

@jaclyn-My personal fav do it yourself at home face mask is a paste mask: Honey (ha!), whole milk, and ground nutmeg. Honey is great for the skin in so many ways as you mentioned, milk contains lactic acid which helps with acne, and nutmeg is an Exfoliant. You just put enough to make a paste and then apply to your face and neck. Leave on for 30 minutes and then rinse with warm water. Great stuff!
(I know I'm discovering this video late.) I think "home/kitchen" remedies are every woman's secret! I like a face mask of plain greek yogurt (thicker = no scary drippage) and lemon juice. I stopped using zit treatments with salicylic acid because they tend to leave my skin more red than anything, but I will try the honey for sure! I LOVE the range of M. Badescu products.(sorry spelling) I have sensitive oily skin....yeah, I'm using a gel moisturizer in the dead of winter.
That being said I will include my current routine should you happen to read this and are curious about us oily/sensitive folks.
Morning - rinse with water or gentle cleanser (winter: Cetaphil, summer: origins frothy face wash) then apply light spf before makeup: "Simple" brand spf 15
Night - 1) makeup removing wipes (usually a drugstore brand for sensitive skin), 2) gentle wash with either of the above mentioned cleansers, 3) light moisturizer (right now a new clear gel moisturizer by "Simple" brand.
2-3 nights a week I add a retinol treatment before my moisturizer (less in winter)
1-2 nights a week steam to loosen up oil/gunk in pores (ew i know) and homemade yogurt mask (sometimes i add lemon, sometimes honey)
I do occasionally exfoliate (sugar yay!) but I try to be very gentle as it seems to irritate me to the point of breakouts if I am too harsh. Sometimes I use REN's glycolactic renewal mask - one of my Sephora splurges, and it smells nice.

I'm so glad you commented your skin care routine. I recently had an allergic skin reaction to one of my skincare products (still don't know what caused it, every thing I use has been in my routine for months!) But now that I have sensitive oily skin it's hard to find products or solutions for my skin care needs. I am definitely going to try your routine! It sounds amazing, thanks again for sharing!!♥ :)
You're so welcome! I'm still using up the Cetaphil, but after doing some research I guess it's not the best cleanser, so I'll have to search for something else. Omg!!! I am so glad I came across this video. I know you've done an updated skin routine but I think I'll stick w this one for a while. I am definitely going to order this products. I have normal to dry skin as well and even when its hot I have to moisturize my face after i shower because my face specially feels like its streching and my skin's about to brake. Iam a believer of natural and inexpensive products work much better than expensive treatments that at the end of the day are made of basically the same stuff theyre just put into a nice looking container to make it look expensive. I love how your skin looks so flawless and radiant. And you're right you need a nice canvas to add makeup to. Oh and thanx Jacklin for sharing your secret i will be using that miracle teeth withening
OK so the weirdest thing happened after watching this video. I searched for the Dr. George's whitening stuff on google and literally the entire list of products mentioned in this video popped up.. The Sugar, argon oil, etc. - So crazy!

I haven't tried this, but I hear coconut oil works amazing to fully remove all your make up without irritating your skin, and is also a wonderful moisturizer.

Love your tips! Thanks so much! Just wanted to say that if you want a combination facial cleanser/moisturizer use a DOT of coconut oil, mixed with a pencil eraser size pinch of baking soda for a scrub every few days (not every day), and the rest of the time, use just a dab of coconut oil. After you're done washing, pat dry, and your skin will feel amazing! Coconut oil is also a natural SPF, no need for skin clogging sunblock.

Have you tried coconut oil on your face? Someone talked me into trying it and it has totally changed my life!! Its clearing up my acne (oil!) and evening out skin tone and just moisturizes all day and night without feeling greasy. Everyone must try it!
I use it like moisturizer. I put it on before bed after I was my face and after my morning shower. It even looks great under makeup. (and dirt cheap compared to moroccan argon oil) Highly recommend.

I too use coconut oil on my face, it clears of acne/blackheads by naturally "pushing" the bacteria and dirt out of your pores. Another thing I do is I melt a teaspoon of it and put it in a seperate container with a few drops of vitamin E oil, put it in the fridge to solidify it and use that as eye cream. Love it!

Is the teeth whitening product safe for your teeth? I've read so many things online and on Pinterest about different home remedies and products and they are great at the beginning but eventually turn out really bad for your teeth.
I understand your concern completely! I did a fair amount of research on the product before purchasing and consulted my dental practitioner, in which both parties explained that the product is perfectly safe and will not strip the enamel, however, if used incorrectly or over an excessively extended period of time (as with any whitening product) there is a possibility that you can damage the enamel. Just be sure to read the instructions and consult your dental practitioner :) personally, I have never been happier! Good luck and happy whitening!
I want to try dr george's but I've had problems in the past with trying to whiten my teeth and the product will make them sensitive. Have you had that with this product? and where can you buy it? can you get it at walmart or something?

Hi Jaclyn.. First off I just wanted to say how much you have inspired me! I just love your videos, you are amazingly talented :) I was watching this video and thought I should point out something about the cod liver oil... while it has great properties for the skin, it has A LOT of Vitamin A, can be too much, actually. So please be careful with that, because since Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin, it can be toxic if you exceed recommended amounts. (funny story, I am in med school and was watching a lecture which happened to mention this, lol. That's the only reason I know this about cos liver oil) Thank you again, for the great makeup tutorials!
I have those bumps under my eyes, and it causes my concealer to look separated and it doesn't look flawless it just looks cakey, my brother told me I was wearing to much makeup even though I wasn't, it was because of those bumps. So if I get that toner do you think the bumps will go away?
Love Mario Badescu, it's the only line I've used for my skincare for the past year. The Enzyme Cleansing Gel is AMAZING--but I actually do use it to remove my makeup. I wet my face, lather it in, then wipe it off with a tissue (without rinsing)...it takes practically all the makeup off just like a makeup removing wipe. I lather some more for a 2nd time but then I rinse it off, or I will use the acne facial cleanser instead. The Buffering Lotion and Vitamin C Serum are also incredible MB products
Do u store your whitening gel in the fridge? Or at room temp.?
Just wanted to let you know I bought the gel & received it in the mail about a week ago! AND WOW. I've been told I had a nice smile by everyone! I can actually notice my teeth being waaay whiter! I've used them with the trays about 3 times & I am sooo happy with the results. Thank you so much for recommending this girl! My big old teeth finally look nice :) lol.

I use yoghurt with sugar as an exfoliator and a natural mask for my face is made out of gram flour mixed with a pinch of turmeric power and milk. The mask gives a glow which is a traditional indian face mask for brides at the time of wedding and can also be used for the entire body.
4 years ago the regular honey,sugar and the oil was good as a skincare routine...now 2016 she is using only the most expensive stuff she got free from sponsors and forgot about the honey lol and there is no affiliate link in a description bar at all in 2016 there are at least 50 different codes what you can buy thru so she can get $$ and of course she only talking about those as 'favorites' very interesting..

it can go both ways. growing up my mom shopped sears and jcpenney, I had never even stepped foot in a walmart till I got married young (and dumb) then again we didn't get a walmart in the area till I was about 10. my mom is in her late 70's now, she was a stay at home mom and my dad worked construction so No, I wasn't uppity or anything like that. it's just where we shopped..
But if you can afford better and nicer things (along with your favorite cheapy stuff) why not??

I was a smoker from 14 years old to 25 years. This is how I quit. Plan 3 days of just watching tv,reading etc- no work or anything stressful. Pick a quit day to start, have straws, popsicle sticks, anything to suck or chew on. It will take 48 hours for the worse symptoms to go away(the physical addiction part) then after the 3 days, its just a matter of will power you will still want to smoke, but you won't need to smoke. Good luck :) You can do it.

I just want you to know how grateful I am that you are sharing your wisdom with the world. I am legally blind and have so much trouble doing my own makeup.
