Alice (Pugh) and Jack (Styles) are lucky to be living in the idealized community of Victory, the experimental company town housing the men who work for the top-secret Victory Project and their families. The 1950’s societal optimism espoused by their CEO, Frank (Pine)-equal parts corporate visionary and motivational life coach-anchors every aspect of daily life in the tight-knit desert utopia.
While the husbands spend every day inside the Victory Project Headquarters, working on the “development of progressive materials,” their wives-including Frank’s elegant partner, Shelley (Chan)-get to spend their time enjoying the beauty, luxury and debauchery of their community. Life is perfect, with every resident’s needs met by the company. All they ask in return is discretion and unquestioning commitment to the Victory cause.
But when cracks in their idyllic life begin to appear, exposing flashes of something much more sinister lurking beneath the attractive façade, Alice can’t help questioning exactly what they’re doing in Victory, and why. Just how much is Alice willing to lose to expose what’s really going on in this paradise?

@@bowie4ever824 olivia said in an interview that pine's character is based on Jordan Peterson..she called him an "insane" man and as someone who has interacted with Peterson's content a lot and read and understood a lot of his quotes and opinions and axioms i can say with utmost certainty that olivia Wilde is extremely biased and Ignorant and tried to darken/reproach a good man's image through this film.
Never mind the controversy behind the scenes, but I for one am interested in seeing this. Florence Pugh has a gift. And she is not wasting it.
@@moomoocowsly i don’t think Harry is feeling abused. They were seeing each other before he was cast for this movie. Theres a big scandal that Olivia fired Shia labeouf, who was originally supposed too be the male lead originally in favor of hiring her ‘boyfriend’ Harry. Also Florence Pugh got paid waaaay less that Harry when he has very little acting experience and shes literally a emmy nominated actress. Thats the big problem.

Thats called... acting. And its a profession for a reason. Juat like other professions most people cant do without having to practice or be talented in it. Imagine having to go into a medical operating room and opening someone else to save a life!
Not to mention, we all know how long it takes to shoot dinner scenes. They must have sat around that table forever to get everybody's reaction shots.

Not a spoilery clip at all. It was great. Just a hint of things to come. Makes me want to go see it. Every movie has a lot of clips. Stop dumping on it. Looks like it’s going to be a good movie. Fun thriller.
Consider running time of 2h. This might be the the best of it and it's only 3 minutes.

Why don’t you try seeing the movie first before you make that uninformed claim. You’re clueless in making that comment. Undoubtedly there’s plenty of good stuff, movie around it, or it wouldn’t work. Not to mention great performances by the actors. The scenery, landscape, costumes textures, colors, music, and more that have been shown in the clip are amazing. Looking forward to taking it all in, going to be a good time.

Why are people saying this is a bad movie?! Just by this scene I’m so drawn to it!
The drama that’s lead up to its release seems to overshadow the fact that it’s actually pretty good. I hope people don’t let themselves become too blinded by all the news, as I feel like despite all the negativity, the actual movie seems to have pulled through.

Also Florence not being active on socials in promoting the movie as she usually does. Harry "spitting" on Chris. Olivia getting into drama with Shia over whether she fired him or not, and getting called out with video proof. This is not just Harry, 1D stuff... let's not be delusional. There were actual behind the scenes issues.

Florence carried this whole scene phenomenally! And those stares from Chris, just chills! Those two are gonna carry the whole movie!! Hopefully the plot doesn't disappoint, I know the acting from Pugh and Pine will not though ;P

I would have to see the whole movie but based on this scene alone, I'm not seeing why it's getting all this vitrolic hatred, Florence Pugh is Killing it like always, It's well shot, well edited ramps up that uneasy feeling the more she keeps going, and of course you have Chris Pine clearly having fun playing the charming villain. Even Harry Styles doesn't seem terrible in this clip. It's clearly a real two hander between Pine and Pugh but Styles still has some great facial acting in this clip. Still excited to this see this.
The thing is ....styles is actually a pretty good actor but twitter likes to hate on literally everyone so yea thats why they keep saying "he cant act"

It has to do with the plot of the movie, the idea itself It's great but the develop in the film is flat, and the actors are not the one to blame, also I think it has to do with how in some parts Florence potential is wasted.

I feel like it’s the type of movie where you know what’s gonna happen the whole time, but watching it play out is the good part.
The first time I saw Florence Pugh was in “fighting with my family” and I was enamoured. It was clear back then that she was going to be huge. An Oscar candidate for sure.

politics. it's always politics. the producer director made it about politics and bashed a good chunk of the potential audience. And, somehow she managed to dissappint even the professional reviewers who usually eat that up. What a waste of a great cast. I used to be a fan of Wilde herself but she hates me, and doesnt want my support so I respect her wishes.

The plot of this movie reminded me so much of the Twilight Zone, I LOVED it! I loved the acting, seeing Harry Styles in a big movie (I've been a fan for years!), the soundtrack (knew almost all the songs), the clothes and cars and I just feel like this was so artistic and unique. I may go see it a second time!

@@whataminow_1d yeah, I released I got the name wrong, funny how don't worry darling has the same visual (sets, props, costumes and colours of their living area) aesthetic as Harry's house (same for my policemen, also based in the 50s) and I've always wondered if it was deliberate to hype people up for Harry's current album and accompanying tour? (Seriously whenever I hear my sister listening to Harry's house, I think of the second trailer for this movie) Because I saw the second trailer a couple of weeks after Harry's house had been released, the same thing also happened with Dunkirk, it came out not long after Harry's first solo album in 2017. Has anyone in his fandom noticed this??

Saw DWD tonight and my friend and I both said afterwards that we couldn’t see Shia LaBeouf playing that part? I’ve read a lot of negative reviews about Harry’s acting so I may be in the minority here but I thought he did great and liked him very much in the role as Jack.

Even though the twist is incredibly predictable it's still a treat to watch such powerhouses acting off of each other.

That actress Florence Pugh’ is English. She speaks with a English accents in real life. It’s amazing on how English/UK actresses/actors can performed with an American accents. Just like there are American actors/actresses who didn’t grew up in the southern parts of the USA. But when performing as playing a role as U.S southerners performing with a American southern accents.

But for all the comments saying harry can't act, I just want to say that even with the tiny scenes we get from him in this movie (from the teasers/sneak peaks/trailers) like this one, that is bull. His facial expressions and the way he conveys this character is so good.
And if people say that I am blinded from my love for him, I will admit I stan and adore harry and I would do anything to see him smile or be happy, but that doesn't make me blind.

I just saw this movie today, 09/30/2022. Fantastic movie. Males choosing careers over their wife and/or family. Rings so true of the males in todays society. Pitiful, but very true.
These 2 were great together in “The Outlaw King”
I’ve been intrigued since my first glimpse of this film. I’ll still watch it, despite the media circus.
Went into this movie after only seeing the one trailer & hearing nothing than the behind the scenes drama, so imagine my surprise when I completely fell in love with how dark & freaky this movie got! Oh I 😍🥰😍 this movie! It struck me deep in my soul with how terrifying the twist (NO SPOILERS HERE) was, and how well crafted the mystery was. This scene was my absolute favorite.
Did the film have problems? Oh a few problems yes (Harry Style's accent), but boy was this a tour de force for Florence Pugh. Cannot wait for awards season! This film should definitely get nominated for score, sound editing/mixing, and best actress for Florence Pugh. 😃
