Best piano teacher on TH-cam. Gets right to the point.
But if you don’t know the notes yet it’s hard to see what he’s pressing. He’s fast. I took music theory - uhhh 23 YEARS ago - but yeah. That isn’t working out for me too well 23 Years later.
He needs to either:
•go slower
•have illustrated colors pop up to highlight what keys to play
Or
•somehow dedicate a floating diagram or display of the what keys to play
And if he doesn’t want to do any of those things it’s be nice if he would include in the title something like “intermediate” or “must know how to read notes & know chords & stuff already cuz I ain’t teachin you that”

I've come so far from someone who had no idea how to make a chord to someone who can competently play his own pieces in a variety of styles, I owe you so much, the icing on the cake was when I went to guitar center and started playing a piece I had composed, this guy (who I figured was a pro from listening to him) stopped playing and watched me and said "that's really awesome" and shook my hand - it was like recognition from a real pianist I wanted to scream! It's all thanks to these thx!
When McCarthy was talking to Howard Stern he said John Came into the studio and asked what keys it in McCarthy said A So I think they record it in A and speeded it up to B flat , like when I’m 64 it was recorded in C and speed it up to c sharp, Great practice for piano Learn the drums

Funnily enough this is not how The Beatles played it :) the arpeggios you hear on the record are not played on the piano, but on the bass guitar.
Peter Martins No I like it too. It’s not a problem, but if you were playing in a band for example then you wouldn’t have to play that part.

It’s actually quite simple but the rhythm is a bit complicated.

Thanks so very much for putting these up! They are so much fun. These are the days I wish I'd grown up in the youtube era. I can't play by ear but I have found that I pick up pieces a lot better through tutorials like this rather than sight reading. My old piano teacher would be appalled but maybe if I'd had this type of thing back then, I'd be a lot better. Oh well. Never too late and I'm making up for lost time now. :)

John, I just now "froze" the individual sequenced chords in the program "Audacity". You can clearly hear the 4 chromatic low notes including the the Eb. Also, I hear no high F in the sequence. Let me know when you are at your piano.
pianojohn113 There is no high F... how can you hear a melody note when no one is singing?
The Complete Beatles score has it wrong by the way (though neither of you are playing that). In Anytune Pro at 20% speed repeat it sounds like FAC->EAC->EbFA->D. Pretty sure this is how it's played in all the Beatle tribute shows (I've been touring in them for a few years)
By the way, my first day on piano so you have a new subscriber. I am a Beatles nut though (my living) so intend on it being 100% right for me. good stuff in all :)

Do you think you'll ever get around to making more tutorials? I've probably mastered only about 20% of all the songs you made a tutorial for on your first channel but there are so many good songs out there, songs I know only you could effectively teach. John actually made the first piano part. Apparently he was really stoned and he came in late and he said “What are we doing? Ob la di?” And then just went to the piano and played the beginning 2x faster then everyone else did and they kept it

I've been transcribing my guitar chords
into Piano notes and I've found using
my pervious guitar knowledge, I have picked up the Piano pretty quickly.
It's a whole other level of muscle memory, but I've found that if I stick
with it I actually sound like I know what I'm doing 🤣
