@Harry Fishnuts actually this style of singing comes from the genre of jazz and singers like Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald etc etc. Anyone who's studied this genre and these singers who are musicians themselves often imitate their sounds. Get your facts straight my friend 😊 it's very important to value the originators, especially since they are often overlooked as women of color. All the singers you mentioned who have imitated this sound are white, not that it matters but its just a bit sad because again they didn't originate the sound 9m88 also has. Each singer is unique though and I appreciate all of them for giving props to the originators like 9m88 did singing Erykah Badu's song ❤️ 9m88 voice is reminiscent of these artists but she is indeed unique, just following a style. I mean literally all lead vocalists in the metal genre have similar vocals, and no one makes comparisons like this lol. They're following the genre
