- Various behind-the-scene snippets shot on the set of Fellini's Satyricon - one of his masterpiece and one of my all time favourite movie ever.
Notable feature : the mysterious Max Born singing Bob Dylan, handsome Hiram Keller humorously cursing the film maker Gideon Bachman and the shooting of Trimalchio's feast. Interesting to see the relatively hippie atmosphere on the set, it was 1968 after all...
It feels weird hearing "Giton" with such a masculine voice.
Amazing Satyricon universe by Fellini
OMG, where's the rest of this?! After watching Satyricon three times I want to watch the entire behind the scenes! This is fascinating how down to earth behind the scenes is. I could hardly believe it when I watched this and found out that the main characters are American and English actors with American and English accents. Totally blown away! Who knew? Interesting to see them out of character. The contrast of the behind the scenes to the final film shows how much of an amazing fabrication of otherworldly fantasy and mythology Fellini has created. Genius!

I've watched this classic Fellini movie two time...this behind-the-scene I've never seen before - the relaxing, the fun in the sun where Max Born sings Bob Dylan songs did beautiful highlights on the Summer of Love/hippie style during/before/after shooting. Thanx 4 uploading^_^

Fellini Satyricon is definitively a masterpiece. Every shot is like a painting. Funny to see all the actors most of whom are British. I guess pot was part of the backstage pastime. Then again it is 1968/69 and is expected of the times.

Max Born's transformation to Gitone in Satyricon is amazing. Out of character without his tunic or his makeup, he's really not that pretty, but as Gitone in Satyricon, he transforms into an extremely beautiful boy. It's to Fellini's credit that he could have vitualized Max Born as the lovely Gitone.

All I know is that Hiram Keller died in 1997, but never heard about Martin Potter and Max Born again.

Max Born, Hiram Keller & Martin Potter: what did they do after Satyricon? Three great actors, and very habdsome men.
Hiram Keller passed away in the late 90's and Martin Potter played Robin hood in a tv-series Legend of Robin Hood (1975). I dont know what happened to Max Born.

The Italian Wikipedia (art. Max Born) only says, after the great success of "Satyricon", he decided to retire from the movies and to end his career as an actor ("Max decise di ritirarsi e di non far più l'attore").

I spent 6 months as cameraman on this documentary "Ciao Federico" directed by Gideon Bachman shot all over Italy,..Met my wife-to-be (and we still together) on-set, an actress in Satyricon...However, I am interested to know why you say Martin Potter was the only one not on drugs?? Well, this statement is probably true. Hiram and I liked to smoke dope etc, he was a freak, like me. Martin on the other hand, was incredibly straight. He liked to have a drink, but a hippy he was not. Fellini used to say to me often, Max, what is wrong with Martin? Where is he at? Can you talk to him? I would laugh and say, no, not really. However, I think he did a great job in his part. But then, he was a professional actor, like Hiram. And I wasn't.

middle 90th a got an order to draw pictures on black material wit UV active colours.
to hang them on goa partys. which ive never did visit bevor.
i did invite a girl i knew from many years ago.
she was a disco girl and used aphetamines.
i proudly presented my artwork.
but she only said: they are all on drugs here. maybe savvysearch can see it from the eyes. this was how she did.
