- The Kukke Subrahmanya Temple is a famous Hindu temple that is located in Karnataka, India. Lord Kartikeya, who is the lord of all serpents, is worshipped here as Lord Subrahmanya; and the temple provides tranquillity and peace like no other. It is located in the heart of the village of Subrahmanya, in Dakshina Kannada, and is surrounded by lush nature on all sides. The mountain Kumara Parvatha overlooks the temple adding a mystical charm. If seen geographically, Shesha Parvatha, a mountain shaped like a six-headed cobra, adjacent to Kumara Parvatha seems to protect the temple.
*** 3 Major Important Poojas at Kukke Subramanya
1. Sarpa Samskara Pooja :
Yeh pooja Kaal Sarp Dosh ya Naag Dosh se chhutkara pane ke liye kiya jata hai. Yeh pooja unmarried log ya couple ko karne ke liye kaha jata hai, Aisa bhi mana jata hai ki jin logo ko life me bahut lambe time se bimaar hai, ya phr jinke bache nhi ho rhe hai, ya wo log jinko skin disease hai, to unhe yha Kukke Subramanya me ek baar aa kar jarur aana chahiye aur jin logo ko bhi skin disease hai unhe Kumaradhara River me dubki laga ke phir pooja karne ke liye mandir me jaana chahiye, esse unke life jitne bhi problem hai wo dur ho jate hai, chahe wo unke skin ka disease ho, ya unke life ka growth ho. Es pooja ko karne ke liye Bhakto Ko Mandir ke paas 2 din tak rehna padta hai, aur es pooja me maximum 4 log hi baith skte hai.
2. Ashlesha Bali Pooja :
Ashlesha Bali Poja is one of the important pooja for those who suffer from Kala Sarp Dosh or Rahu Ketu Dosh. Yeh pooja Sharvaan me, Kartik me aur Magh Mahine Me bahut subh mana jata hai. Yeh Pooja mandir me subh 7:00 bje aur subh 9:15 bje ki jaati hai. Ye pooja ko perform karne se pahle mandir ke purohit ke sath sankalp lete hai aur phir es pooja ki aradhna ki jati hai.
3. Nagaprathishta Pooja :
Naagprathishta pooja bhi kaal sarp dosh se mukti ke liye kiya jata hai. Ye pooja Kukke Subramanya Mandir ke bahar bane chaturbhuj me nagaprathishta mandapam me kiya jata hai. Pooja ekadashi aur upvas ke din chhod kar sabhi din hota hai.
*HISTORY*
Itihaas ke anusaar, Skand Puran ke chapter Sahyadri Khanda me Subrahmanya ka zikr hai. As per the Puranas, the Subrahmanya is on the banks of the River Dhara. Shankar Vijaya ke Shashtro me, Anandagiri ne ye zikr kiya hai ki Shri Adi Shankara Charya ne es jagah ki khoja kiya tha.
Kukke Subramanya Temple ka origin Skand Puran me bahut achse btaya gya hai. Btya jata hai ki Jab Naagraj Vasuki Garud se bachne ke liye ek gufa me chhip gaye the. Naagraj Vasuki Bhagwan Shivji Ke bahut bade bhakt Hai. Tabhi waha se Mahan Rishi Muni Kshyap Ji Ki nazar padi, to unhone Garud se Ramanaka Island jaake waha Bhukh mitane ke liye bola aur sath hi sath unhone Naagraj Vsuki ko Bhagwan Shiv ki aardhana karne ke liye bola, tabhi Bhagwan Shiv appear huye aur unhone btya ki agle yug me unke putar aayenge Kartikeya Ji (Jinka Naam Subramanya Bhi Hai) aur wo unki raksha karenge. Waise hi agle yug me, Raakshas Tarkasur ka Vadh karne ke baad apne Bhai Ganesh Ji ke sath kumar parvat pahuche tabhi Devraj Inder ne unka swagat kiya, aur unhe apni beti Devsena ke sath Shaadi ka prastav diya Bhagwan Subramanya ko.

I have been there 2 times but full info got from this video due to Language. Thank you for detailed description.
Only one thing missing that , to complete the puja you have to start from Manjunatha temple(dharmasthala) then Ganapati temple finally Kukke temple.
Then your mannat will complete, one more thing once you visited Kukke you are not supposed to visit any other temple on that day.

My father , my uncle and my grandfather have been the Purohits. No one should tell about what is inside of the garbha gudi .if they are really curious they should come to the garbha gudi and see .After they can tell what is inside .They can only tell what is visible from the outside(which devotees can see)
the main poojari has to be married and there wife and children's should not enter the kukke subrahmanya Kshetra.But the main poojari can go to there home but they can't do the pooja on the same day they have to be fasting
From 6 pm to afternoon 12 pm.

That is prarthna chetti . The ticket u will get directly from temple
You should follow the order of sankalp, ashlesha bali and prathna. Sankalp is a small ritual where you convey your wish, ashlesha bali which is pooja for Deity Subramanya Swamy and then lastly prathna.

3 hours from Mangalore government bus stop to kukke subramanya.

There is a rumour that ,literaly a snake appears in the Garbha gudi during the main pooja every day. And there will be some conditions put on to the main Poojari of the temple to keep some secrets of the temple. He shouldnt tell this secrets not even to his wife. And another strange thing is , the wife of main Poojari must not enter Kukke temple and also the city itself .

@@travellerkhushboo My grandfather was among the assistant poojari (Purohits) of kukke temple around 50 years ago. So he told me about these strange things in the temple. But the thing that I told about the wife not entering the city is very much true. A pooja is conducted when that Poojari is appointed as the Main Poojari of the temple. In that pooja , the wife of the poojari will also attend it. It will be the last time she enters that temple and the city. After that pooja she must not enter the temple and the kukke city.

Hi, I'm planning to go from Mumbai.
1. Basically, if my ticket booked is for 1 Nov then I need to be there by 31st Oct evening, right?
2. Is 4200rs including Sarpa Samskara, Naag Pratistha, accomodation and food for four people? I'm planning to sit down for Pooja with my younger brother, wife, two kids (4 yrs old boy and 7yrs old girl) and myself. Is one ticket of 4200rs enough for 3 adults n 2 kids?
3. By 2Nov afternoon 4pm, we will be done with the process, right? So, do we need to book beyond the 2nd day evening? Or, one can return to train station on 2nd day evening and depart from there?
4. Anything else I need to plan?
It will be a huge huge help if you could share these details with me. I will plan my train tickets and other such arrangements accordingly.

Don't worry for any such vidhi or pooja a correct time has to come & your pooja will be done when correct time comes. Na late na jaldi. 🙏👍
