Today on the Kew Gardens (Long Island Railroad Station), I was heading for the next stop. When the train came into the station, the first car overshot with 1 car. They decided to not open the first train car and open the rest of the 5 cars in the station.

There were people on that train, so considering that wasn't a test of any sort, it's pretty obvious the motorman was either falling asleep or distracted to the point where he realized half ways down the station that he was about to miss a stop. That he attempted to make the stop is f'd up, cause if I'm not mistaken, that air sound at around 00:17 is a good indicator that braking force was at or near emergency brake type effort, which could cause injury to passengers.
this is why i dont take the j train cause they get to cocky on the speed if you know your going too fast put full brakes on as soon as u enter the station

CommuterTrainFan0168 , Well, someone pulled the emergency brake unless it tripped the signal. Also, the train probably just overran the stop marker and not the actual platform otherwise, the doors of the train wouldn't have opened.

Thats not fast, how about being in a R46(A) going from 59th St to 42nd St or any Express North bound (A) or (D) from 59th St to 125th St especially around 110th St
They open the rear section of the train first and for the front section, the train operator or conductor must keyhole the door open to let people in or out. Afterwards to make up for lost time, the train will skip the next few stops until it reaches the next big station

It overshot the station so it may have been the signals that set it off. YES SIGNALS CAN SET OFF EBRAKES IF A TRAIN GOES FAST
