Wouldn't there be white ash on the parts of the logs already burned? Parts facing the flames, in the flames, like the top of your logs (which looks like a bonfire next to those tiny figures).

But marching in it for 16 hours and then sleeping in it for 8 hours on the cold ground before waking up, unbuckling some shit to piss so you can march for 16 more hours in it.....will def give you a level of exhaustion. It's like anything else in DnD. You CAN do it but that don't make it a good idea.
So one thing I've found some people may like to know, if you paint your sand/dirt flocking it actually looks better than just adding it as is.
