Maye is going to be the starter in short order. Maybe even week 1. This isn’t a situation like Mahomes or Love where you have competitive teams with Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers in place. He’ll be fine as long as he has mental toughness.
@@sugarman9323 Ever heard of Tim Couch? The top QB prospect in high school, the top QB prospect all through college even though he played at Kentucky. The top player drafted And he was a shell shocked mess and beat up beyond repair because the Cleveland Browns took him, had no protection for him, no help on offense and put him out there right away . He was never the same after that and was out of the NFL in a few years
I said it from the beginning even before the draft. If we’re lucky enough to get Drake, he will end up being one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Within his third season, he will be bringing the patriots deep into the playoffs. He will only be 24 then, and still not in his prime. I like Jaden but I was so happy Washington took him. Jaden and Jake will both be much better than Caleb. Jaden, though I believe will be plagued by injuries. Drake is going to be a beast. The kid will just keep getting bigger and stronger and faster. His accuracy right now is off the charts at 21 lol. I still hope however, they don’t start him week one. There’s no need to.
I get the feeling Brissett would like Maye to step up and take the job . Brissett just doesn't seem enthusiastic. Think about it Brissett can sit there, draw his check and not get the hell beat out of him for a year
What I find interesting is so what value was bringing Brissett at QB when its obvious the dude is bad...so what is he cheap so Wolf decided to go cheap at QB for Mayes development..why not bring someone who is actually good to learn from...clueless franchise right now.
@johnhaversack1634 then we wouldn't need Maye. And who would they get? Fitzpatrick? It's all the same kid relax. McCarthy was going to sit behind Sam Darnold even before the injury. And maybe there not sure when Drake will be ready, no one does or did know, Atleast Brissett has the right attitude. And besides a real good QB won't work with a rookie there will be tension.
I think the best evidence is Mahomes. The Idea I think is they learn to avoid making mistakes without hurting their confidence and confidence issues can destroy a qb. But I tend to agree with you. Looks like Mahomes would be great even if he didn’t sit.
@@dannjoseph1461Chiefs had Alex Smith starting and he was producing. Brissett has struggled against backups in this preseason. It’s a much different dynamic. I hope maye starts.
Drake Maye has a bad offensive line that is injury prone. It ruined David Carr's career. Second of all Sitting behind a season veteran helped elite players like Aaron Rodgers, Jordan Love, and Patrick Mahomes when they where raw and needed to have extra time to grasp the playbook.
Brissett is a Journeyman QB, its projected that Maye CAN BE elite, when to play him week 8 to allow him to shake out his rookie mistakes and allow him to go into year 2 as a "somewhat" seasoned veteran.
Maye should sit for a year for the most part Pats are only going to win 5 or 6 games at most even with Maye playing. Probably 3 or 4 . So save the young guy, then get a left tackle , 2 linemen and a #1 receiver next year in free agency snd the draft.
I like Brissette, he balls out and does the best he can, but he's a back up. If NE really wanted Maye to sit for a year or two they should have gone after someone like Minschew who's not great either, but has proven he can win and is another guy who plays all in. Guess what I'm saying is if you wanted Maye to sit you should have gotten someone who can be better than him, not someone who's 'serviceable' at best
So proud of our rookie QB Drake Maye. He's working so hard for us Pats Nation. Go Drake 🔥🏈🥹🤟🏼
Remember when everyone was saying he’s way behind and we made a mistake taking him without him even playing a game
@@chrisdragone9794 I thought Maye was the top QB coming out . Not the most ready maybe but could be the best all around and upside wise

Sugarman great point
I didn’t get from that press conference that Wolf is an introvert or lacks confidence. Seemed like it went well to me. He’s not Bill we get it.
Bill wouldn't admit he had a QB, and would snort and snark all over the place because he's an a-hole

I’m still wondering if they plan on making a big trade. But no telling who. Also doesn’t hurt to bring in other guys for the Oline.
Just make sure yall don't try to burn him at the stake if/when he start makin mistakes

Only thing obvious is you have no clue on how a football team operates

Maye is not stepping into his throws. He is not driving off his left foot and leg. He should sit until his mechanics have been corrected.
I don’t think I will ever understand why a QB should sit. In my opinion.

Right
I’m willing to watch at least 8 weeks of Jacoby unless he is playing well
@SuburbanIrvin Its a bridge year. Draft LT, G CB, C, WR next year Maye start Week 1 2025. It's that simple.

Ever since I heard Reiss whimpering to Felger, all I hear is a little girl when he talks
They should trade Maye for Mack Jones. He's the top rated QB in the preseason.
Maye is a taller Zach Wilson.
Based on your expertise?
Google has Maye listed at 6'4 vs Wilson at 6'2
