I just finished the game as well, and Subnautica seems to be tailor made for helping you conquer fear. I went from seeing a Ghost Leviathan in the Lost River and saying "There's a Ghost Leviathan HERE!?!?" to grappling onto it with the Prawn Suit and beating the crap out of it! Course it took me to its buddy in the Blood Kelp Zone and nearly killed me but I still conquered my fear XD

I am not sure how but as a person with thalassophobia, I am glad to see more trying this. I tried it myself. I couldn’t finish it. It’s hard to ignore your fear and go deep or swim in the unknown. Typing those words made my stomach twists and my palms sweat ..
Tip: you swim faster in this game if you have both hands free, so put away stuff if you can (swimming around while holding a fire extinguisher or a knife is slower) Also I do encourage you to read the stuff in the databank thoroughly, as that's your "survival manual", especially as it gets updated. And to update it often and learn the most about your surroundings, use the scanner. Sometimes animals or even plants that may appear like they're just food or "decoration" may have unexpected uses you can only figure out by scanning them. I think that by doing that, you can figure out most stuff yourself without having the comments section backseat you on every little thing as they so often like to do.
I played the game for too many hours to say comfortably online but don't REALLY suffer from thalassaphobia myself so it's so motivational to see how you push yourself to play this amazing game. hope you make more subnautica and keep making videos; they're very well made :)

Content creators made this game what it is, and to think this game is bringing newer content creators to all of our attention and letting us witness their subscriber numbers shoot up... it just feels so full circle! I know other trending games do this, but after following subnautica's beginning, it feels uniquely wholesome!

Ok, there are always bigger fish. None of them are as bad as the reaper leviathan. Ghosts you can see, dragons are rare and more annoying than anything. Reapers, warpers, and crashfish are the most evil things on the planet in that order
@@andrewchilds8886 exactly. I have a base in the inactive lava zone and the sea dragons only make me angry, not scared. But reapers still terrify me, and warpers are very unnerving.

oatmeal is so good!!! id def recommend getting the oatmeal packets that you can find at like walmarts bc theres flavored ones. I used to be terrified of the game but my save is now 2 days long, it’s almost impossible to get caught lacking anymore but when I’m building base instalments on my reaper observatory (I realize you probably don’t know what that is yet but it’s the demon by the aurora) is one of the rare moments I start tweaking staring into the abyss especially because I’m playing on hardcore, btw I love seeing new channels growing I’ve always wanted to but I can never enjoy my own creations enough to release, takes confidence and I respect it looking forward for more 👍

I'm looking forward to the journey of discovery you're going to have. As someone that knows what that horrible anxiety can do, please PLEASE when you're overwhelmed take some time to go home and read your PDA entries. I promise there's some interesting stuff there.
I know my partner has this phobia and heard from them, as well as other folks, that at some point they forget they're underwater. The game takes place under water for 99% of the time and yeah, you kinda feel like you're flying in your seamoth mini sub after several hours of exploring. Like you're in this mystical forgotten realm where everyone floats weightlessly and so do you. The only reminder that you're under water is that you need to go up for air a lot at first, but the more you get better gear and vehicles, the less you need to do that and the less you think about it. It's so fascinating how the brain can be tricked and that even folks with this phobia can still play Subnautica to completion because it's so open and allowing you to take your time and find your own play style. I only experience thalassophobia if I'm in deep water in person, but the game doesn't scare me whatsoever because no matter how deep I go in this alien ocean, worst case scenario I respawn in my base. That doesn't happen IRL haha. PS, I'm new here, but on a real Subnut binge since I'm replaying the game again for the third time and it's a real special interest of mine. You seem like a cool dude and your videos are pretty fun to watch! You're not a little bitch for waiting for daytime (I do too, it's the smart thing to do that early in the game) and if you decide to keep playing, spoiler free hints can be arranged :) Here's one for ya right now, you can feed Stalkers and they'll be more docile towards you, so carry a fish or two with you, yeet them at the funi sharks and you should have an easier time. Also, if you get chased by the fish that explore, make a quick and sharp turn, they go so fast they can't keep up and end up detonating away from you so you don't get hurt! And finally, in your search for lead, they don't show up in limestone outcrops, they spawn in Sandstone outcrops, which are darker brown and more rounded. If you see 'red grass' on the sea floor that's a good place to look.
I just can't get it out of my head that I'm underwater. Like if there's anything I can say about the game, it's that it does a really nice job of immersing you because I am so stressed all the time lol. Thanks for the tips, this game has a lot to learn
I had Thalassophobia before i played subnautica and i was insanely scared of the ocean. When i beat the game i really took the time of what i been scared of and that really worked with this phobia. I really recommend you play until you beat it.

I watched this movie called "Underwater" with Kristen Stewart last year. Actually a really cool movie, but it just unlocked a fear in me that I've never experienced before lol
when i first played this game i knew absolutely nothing about it, especially that it's a horror game, and also i got it for free. after the aurora blew up i went in there, did some things and headed back to the lifepod at night with only a seaglide. in the way there was a reaper. the first scream got me so scared that i can't even put into words, and then i saw it and it grabbed me. during the attack i had the shaking jumpscare, the one that lasts more than it should have. i know I'll never have this experience with no other game because i always look into things before playing, but with Subnautica i went completely blind and did NOT expect the betrayal lol
I don’t even have thalassophobia, but this game terrified me. I still managed to finish it though, because it's more awesome than in is scary. And as they say, I'm a simple woman: I see Subnautica, I click. I'll be happily watching this whole series.

The thing you encountered was the Reaper Leviathan one of the most dangerous things in the game. Try to avoid the reaper. btw you enter the aurora by the front and you need a laser cutter and propulsion cannon to continue. congrats on 100 subs 😄

Love the video and now i'm here before 300 subs. At the start when you instantly went to the auora I was ready to laugh my ass off of you getting scared but sadly there was the radiation. Here are a few things I wanted to say: 1. The chubby things that give of this green gas are not giving out radiation😂 2. You should really craft a sea glider so you can be much faster 3. Please show things like how you noticed that you get cave sulfur form these nests 4. You get inside the auora through the back where you encountert the "Reaper" (A hostile Levitihan class life form) but you arent ready at the moment because you still need tools like the laser cuter Keep the quality of the content up

You should check out how the aurora explosion looks like on youtube, its pretty cool, I missed it aswell on my first playthrough

I know my partner has this phobia and heard from them, as well as other folks, that at some point they forget they're underwater. The game takes place under water for 99% of the time and yeah, you kinda feel like you're flying in your seamoth mini sub after several hours of exploring. Like you're in this mystical forgotten realm where everyone floats weightlessly and so do you. The only reminder that you're under water is that you need to go up for air a lot at first, but the more you get better gear and vehicles, the less you need to do that and the less you think about it.
It's so fascinating how the brain can be tricked and that even folks with this phobia can still play Subnautica to completion because it's so open and allowing you to take your time and find your own play style. I only experience thalassophobia if I'm in deep water in person, but the game doesn't scare me whatsoever because no matter how deep I go in this alien ocean, worst case scenario I respawn in my base. That doesn't happen IRL haha.
PS, I'm new here, but on a real Subnut binge since I'm replaying the game again for the third time and it's a real special interest of mine. You seem like a cool dude and your videos are pretty fun to watch! You're not a little bitch for waiting for daytime (I do too, it's the smart thing to do that early in the game) and if you decide to keep playing, spoiler free hints can be arranged :)
Here's one for ya right now, you can feed Stalkers and they'll be more docile towards you, so carry a fish or two with you, yeet them at the funi sharks and you should have an easier time. Also, if you get chased by the fish that explore, make a quick and sharp turn, they go so fast they can't keep up and end up detonating away from you so you don't get hurt! And finally, in your search for lead, they don't show up in limestone outcrops, they spawn in Sandstone outcrops, which are darker brown and more rounded. If you see 'red grass' on the sea floor that's a good place to look.
I just can't get it out of my head that I'm underwater. Like if there's anything I can say about the game, it's that it does a really nice job of immersing you because I am so stressed all the time lol. Thanks for the tips, this game has a lot to learn

I had Thalassophobia before i played subnautica and i was insanely scared of the ocean. When i beat the game i really took the time of what i been scared of and that really worked with this phobia. I really recommend you play until you beat it.

I watched this movie called "Underwater" with Kristen Stewart last year. Actually a really cool movie, but it just unlocked a fear in me that I've never experienced before lol
when i first played this game i knew absolutely nothing about it, especially that it's a horror game, and also i got it for free. after the aurora blew up i went in there, did some things and headed back to the lifepod at night with only a seaglide. in the way there was a reaper. the first scream got me so scared that i can't even put into words, and then i saw it and it grabbed me. during the attack i had the shaking jumpscare, the one that lasts more than it should have. i know I'll never have this experience with no other game because i always look into things before playing, but with Subnautica i went completely blind and did NOT expect the betrayal lol
You need to go the back of the ship near the engines. 😉✌️

@@freefloatinghostility I just finished watching the rest of the video since I had to go and just so you know, YOU JUST EXPERIENCED ONE OF THE MOST TERRIFYING THINGS YOU CAN EXPERIENCE IN SUBNAUTICA and you still acted somewhat calm. The thing you encountered was the Reaper Leviathan one of the most dangerous things in the game. Try to avoid the reaper. btw you enter the aurora by the front and you need a laser cutter and propulsion cannon to continue. congrats on 100 subs 😄

Love the video and now i'm here before 300 subs. At the start when you instantly went to the auora I was ready to laugh my ass off of you getting scared but sadly there was the radiation. Here are a few things I wanted to say:
1. The chubby things that give of this green gas are not giving out radiation😂
2. You should really craft a sea glider so you can be much faster
3. Please show things like how you noticed that you get cave sulfur form these nests
4. You get inside the auora through the back where you encountert the "Reaper" (A hostile Levitihan class life form) but you arent ready at the moment because you still need tools like the laser cuter
