GIZ: Ghanaian students develop innovations in the field of renewable energies. 2023

Since 2019, the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Senior High School Challenge, launched by the Energy Commission, has been held once a year in Ghana. Students from all over the country take part in the competition and present their inventions in the field of renewable energy. Through the competition, the EC aims to create awareness about renewable energy, clean energy and energy efficiency. It wants to encourage students to find creative and innovative approaches to renewable energy and energy efficiency. In this way, it aims to attract future professionals to this field. The winner of last year’s challenge was the team from Kpedze Senior High School with a portable solar system for drying fruit and vegetables to extend their shelf life.
