Tied it up just about the same way u did, looks awesome and caught a sea trout on the first cast! Lasted bout 4 fish before the hackle stem broke.. Stripped the hook and tied up a new one with a thin copper wire in hopes of keeping this one a bit longer.. Awesome fly 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Simple and awesome appearance. Video so well done. I have a black wooly with hot red mono flash instead of your rainbow and we are kicking tail with it in my Lund slow trolling type 6 full sink line S curving at 2 mph. Tied from the steps on your video. Fish on Ruben!
Awesome my friend, glad this video help to catch those fish and for the feedback about it. Best regards and share the channel if you like. We stay in touch my friend
Nice work!!! Tired of the Talkers....just show us the Fly with Lovely music......Enjoyed the video here on Christmas eve in Redding Ca now going to tie some for Float tubing Shasta Lake!!!! Merry Christmas Ruben!
The music………🤷🏻♂️ First thought was…. Caddy Shack Pool scene🤣, then…. I need to turn the volume down…… Moments later I was hit with this strange trance of flowing feather’s and intertwined wraps….. Strangely dosed with an epiphany…………. The tunes, materials and skills. Perfect harmony of angler happiness. 🙌🤙😎 🎣 Well done Sir!
That in a nightmare pattern in my local river would catch so many fish. Nightmare is a white head, red body, black tail. I fish a jig tied similarly under a float and it slays. Probably easier to accomplish with a bead head i would imagine.
Just a recommendation, take a couple of thread wraps under the tail to prevent wrapping. Other than that, as WBs go, it's a nice one. I love the flash material.
I like my tails wrapping to be honest. It hides the hook. I use gold hooks and i've seen trout refuse an inch away from my buggers. and I barely use marabou as well. I like zonker tails on my buggers now too. Other than that, your buggers look amazing.
Hi buddy, yes i do that too, but in the places i fish (limay river mostly) we have the chance of fishing 6 7 8 kg eild brown trouts and if we are lucky to catch one of those first of all there is no wire that can keep the fly in good conditions to keep fishing with it and if it do so we keep the fly like a trophy in our walls. Best regards!
I’ve caught many browns in 20-25” range and a medium wire holds a bugger together pretty good. Occasionally one will get its teeth under it and break it, but that’s expected. Fishing big lake run browns in the streams of the Great Lakes area in US.
@@TedJ71 Yes, medium wire its ok, but i use it in other patterns where i dont need the body to have a big precense like in this case i prefer to sacrifice the duration of the fly to keep the body more visible, just in this case. In most wb patterns i use cooper wire for the hackle. Best regards
wow that is awesome... i am gonna tie a few of those... Ruben man i have seen a bunch of your videos! you are one of the most creative and fluid tiers around.. so well done. inspiring J
Great looking fly. I will keep it in mind. I got exposed to classical music early in life, and have tangled with Tchaikovsky's music, and, despite the battle scars, I am ready to do it again. Do you have a video in which you use the waltz from Swan Lake by chance? I enjoy both the tying videos and the great music that comes with them. I will also add that I have also enjoyed the music of Offenbach, Liszt, Beethoven, as well as Tchaikovsky and any others unmentioned.
Hi Gene, thanks a lot my friend, i will tell my friend who edit my videos to make one with that song, suscribe to my channel and stay tune! Best regards
Thanks a lot my friend!! I will be tying in November in NJ at the International Fly Tying symposium, there are only 10 places for the class, if you like to be there let me know and i will save you a place. Best regards!!
Really nice bugger....did I miss the rib or did you tie it with a rib to hold down the hackle? Nicely done on music and display. I really like this pattern and will be giving it a go.....even if it has black rib. :)
This the nutcracker or fly tying? Every time i go to the fly shop, i see some stuff i looked at and shoulda bought
Music made me feel like I was watching the movie Lucas. Sharp looking bugger. Addition of a thin wire rib helps with durability. Nice tie.
Thanks Dave. Kind regards

Tremenda Rubén.. Una variación tan fácil y eficaz de la clásica... Mosca que siempre pero siempre paga!!

Came back for another look Ruben, something about this fly, it has the razzmatazz , probably drive the rainbows crazy. Thkx, Thomas.
Hi Thomas, yes its a great pattern for rainbows and for browns. Kind regards buddy

Sweet! Well done. I can’t wait to tie this one.
Thanks. Regards!
Nice looking bugger! Only thing 1 big brown trout will shred that hackle. I for over wrapping mine with wire , lasts for a lot of fish !

Great looking bugger should work great fir bull trout and rainbows thanks
Brilliant!
Amazed once again!! Be blessed!
Thanks my friend! best regards!!
i find that covering lead wire wrap with swiss straw is a quicker way to get full coverage on lead wire wrap
great
Nice! Gonna tie a few of those! I couldn't help but think of the "water ballet" scene from the movie Caddyshack. :-)
Thanks
That’s a lot of thread you use, is that to add weight to the fly? I’m learning how to tie myself and your videos are easy to follow.
the wire i put close to the end of the fly is copper wire, is more to give durability to the hackle. best regards
@@rubenmartinflies Oh I see, thanks for the replay. I enjoy your videos nice work.
Genio 🧞♂️ gracias x compartir
De nada

Really nice bugger....did I miss the rib or did you tie it with a rib to hold down the hackle? Nicely done on music and display. I really like this pattern and will be giving it a go.....even if it has black rib. :)
Hi James, i didn´t rib the fly for the video, but you can add a thin cooper wire to protect the hackle. Kind regards
Красиво

Very nice sir! I’m subbed!
Thanks my friend!! you can share if you want
nice tying..but one tooth to that hackle and its done...im surprised u dont counter wrap it with wire..

Great video, and I love your music... thank you for sharing and God bless. Subscribed!
Thanks my friend!! kind regards. Ruben
nice one!
Thanks my friend!
Great video i may add a bead head and skip the lead wrap , good job indeed.
Thanks buddy! the cooper wire wrap is to save the hackle of the trouts teeth, so the fly can fish a little longer. Best regards!
Beautiful
Debe ser mortal para el Strobel.Saludos
I much preferred the Beethoven to the Strauss, but that's just me. Geat fly tying as normal.
