To all new ps players:
The red gunpowder barrels are completely harmless and when they are on board it gives you a 5% increase in gold value
Also make sure to remove all of the stuff in your ship's barrels and leave them at the outpost. This makes the ship go faster 😊

also if you happen to had a srtonghold gun powder keg you get 75% increasi in gold and level up and if its the keg of ancient black powder then you get the exact same thing as the stronghold BUT you also get 100% chance of having a big white shark ( not that its important or anything) for the finishing touch if you have 10 of each you get a free firework
You forgot to mention that the % increase stacks. The more red barrels, the more bonus gold :)

Alright, but hear me out... if all high level sea of thieves veterans spawn in default ships during ps5 launch day - we have a golden opportunity to spread Pirate Traumatic Stress Disorder (commonly known as PTSD) accross the seas.
Whenever a default ship is sighted, it's either A) someone on their very first voyage, or B) a sweatlord just waiting for you to mistake him for an easy kill. We all have the power to make it option B) 😈.... Alright fine, added benifit is that crews will think twice about destroying swabbies. Either way, it will be funni to flatten some poor unsuspecting swabbie crushers.
For the Record, I call this tactic "plan B".
I always appreciate when Drew talks openly about problems, bugs and other things that don't go according to the plan. It's always good to hear honesty instead of some 'positive corporate talk' and know that the issues are acknowledged and worked on. We realise the solutions aren't always easy. Keep up the good work, people!
sure.... way after the fact though. and talks about their slow action. while year1 was a hot mess and every patch introduced more bugs than it fixed it was kinda nice seeing faster turn around time on some bugs. their excuse for longer windows between patches is so insiders can test and help catch bugs. but from what friends tell me they ignore insider reports and 99% of reported bugs make it to the release build.
when they introduced "right click/bumper to hand object to another player" the big brain developers never thought of trying to use this feature IN WATER! lol cause 90% of the game isnt in the sea....... so the feature worked on land but if you tried it in the water your characters would start to fly into the air. i believe after that simple failure to test game mechanics is when they decided to fire up the insider program but they seem to be failing at the mandate of the insider program which is to catch bugs and get feedback. instead its them laying down the law of "this is how it is, dont like it? QUIT"
Yeah no, I appreciate the fact they're finally willing to fix problems, but it also sucks that some of these problems have been in the game for a long time. I feel like we've had the merchant alliance scam for far too long, and the anti-cheat was needed at the release of hourglass for the sake of fair matches.
2 weeks now they've fixed nothing wrong and said nothing . the known issues page is scrollable . Let's not blow smoke to far up there behinds now sheesh.
You guys can't entirely fault Rare though. Their communication has got to be one of the best I've seen from a company in terms of problems and fixes. Yes bugs and crashes are annoying and the anti cheat has taken A LONG time to be implemented. But I watch every SOT News episode that comes out and so far they've been really clear and transparent on 1. Why its taken so long, 2. The problems they've faced and 3. Their plans to counteract them.
In terms of communication with their playerbzse, Rare definitely tops A LOT of the big names out there, not all but they're up there with the best and for the reason, I personally don't mind the wait.
@@kieronsmith871 rare is one of the most non communitive companies. Took them 2 weeks with thousands of players reporting bugs and they only worked on 3 bugs when they have a list of 20 to work on after being silent for the last 2 weeks. This happens every single time . 6 yrs now. They're still the same small time indie company they've always been.

To all new ps5 players: if you see an inconspicuous barrel somewhere on your boat, ignore it. It's a loot barrel, and as long as you don't touch it it will give you a bonus when you sell loot!

can yall focus a bit on adding actual pirate cosmetics to the game? the stuff is cool and all but the stuff for basic pirates is lacking. smth like more colors of long jackets and more classic (and simple) pirate hats would be great as opposed to smth like "the star shining sparkle coconut set"

Reminds me of an encounter I had the other day, pirate had boarded our ship and was instantly one hitting us after we had respawned, even through walls. Eventually he was killed whilst using the ladder
What walls are on a ship that aren’t just the hull. If he boarded how was he shooting you through them as if he didn’t. This seems like a sus accusation.

Fix the megs, since the massive update haven’t been able to fight a Meg. Just glitches out every time it goes to attack my ship

@@shyper_ prior to the massive update I would get attacked sometimes but the megs always attack the actual ship, not swim around it for 10min then when it “attacks” glitches out every time

For the anti cheat:Last day me and my friend wanted to do a fort of fortune and somebody started to rain kegs on us.
Tp hacks have been patched they can only go invis aimbot ESP and Intsa ladder and stop outs mid air if they have really expensive cheats they can tp to interactables like the map wheel or harpoon so probably got tucked on of have any clips my user name is Gold sot u can send em and I'll tell u if they where cheating

Remember always keep the glowing blue barrels in your crows nest or in the middle of your ship they're hardest to steal there, and also: if you see any glowing skulls or ships , run in the opposite direction, trust me they are extremely dangerous

For those who are aware, EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) was put on VRChat (or VRC) aswell and yet there's people who can crash lobbies, rip others avatars, noclip and whatnot with the EAC being present.. One of the worst Anti-Cheats out there fr, i sincerely hoped you'd pick something better for Anti-Cheat.. FeelsBadMan

To be fair. VRC isn't a good indicator. Don't get me wrong, EAC is jank. But there's a lot of other games that use it and still have hacking that can be used as an example. You can crash lobbies, noclip, and most whatnot with just avatar wizardry. The ripping though is obviously some tomfoolery.

Rare I love the ship recolors as options for people! But I would also really love to see you finish some sets too! Lucky Hand ship set/ tools are my favorite that I’d love to see finished, and based on other comments on the internet there are several others that are missing some pieces!
To all new new playstation players, exploding a stronghold gunpowder keg actually gives you an auto repair effect on your ship instead of damaging it like a normal keg

Always remember to park facing the island with sails down and anchored, its the best way of getting loot back onto the ship and you can use cannons on both sides as none of them will be facing the island .

I'll tell you the truth, I played Sea of Thieves cracked, I had a lot of fun even playing alone most of the time, unfortunately here in Brazil it's very expensive for me, even though it was wrong on my part and on other players like me, but it's a It's a shame there won't be any more cracks for the game.

@@riahisama you are one to talk. Simply installing the game already gives them possible access to all of your files. Every game can be malware if they do choose. We as the consumer can’t really control that other than of course dodging all games.
Kernel does give more access for the anti cheat. That is correct. However, it does nothing more malicious than the normal download can do. Why bother going through the hassle to invade privacy using kernel when you can just do it with a simple install click.

Oh cool anti heat. Now please fix the server issues, I'm kind of tired seeing 60ms latency in servers that should be closest to me, while any other game has12ms tops... The teleporting pirates, food regs, sword blocks not working, waves messing with cannonball trajectory, the whole game almost crash/freezing every time any pirate loads in the vicinity(from the ferry or just sailing closer) be it my own team mate or enemy player. Hopefully wont take you 3months to 3years to get around that problem.
Ah, there is also the fact that support dev's don't have night shifts or weekend shifts makes the cheating problem that much worse...
I'm salty. I love the game, but that's exactly the reason why I'm posting this HERE, so that, in a fools hope, it gets seen and addressed.

I just don’t support censorship and unjust bans for speaking unpleasant truths by any company or organization. So I stopped playing and purchasing passes and cosmetics. It’s a Rare problem not a me problem.
6 years for Easy Anti Cheat? First step? I thought you were all working on it? Oh we are all well aware that the Shipwrights still weren't working properly yet you know "they were fixed". We have to hope that in March that there will be more fixes, please don't forget to press the save or apply button before patching. Thanks for the reskins!

So here on 3/14 after the update and everything they said the update would fix was a lie. Keyboard and mouse still doesn't work, sharks still spawn like crazy, HG is still bugged.. great job Rare...

so GDK to improve performance. anti-cheat to impact performance so we will basically be at about the same level of performance weve had for the past 6 years after this goes live.... hopefully not worse because we cant handle worse. just hoping the anti cheat wont be getting false positives and banning innocent people like this fish duplication exploit is doing because trolls are sailing around handing out free fish for the lolz
Easy Anti-cheat is Kernel level, and while it is an anti cheat, it isn’t something to be trusted. Someordinarygamers made a good video talking about Kernel level anti cheats and why they’re bad. It being made by Epic is even more worrying.

easy anti-cheat is such a trash anti-cheat , not been banned by it did have issue of it shutting dbd down constantly back when dbd first came out that kept the game unplayable for months till a random update fixed what ever was broken in eac that was causing the issue , after that to this day i'll never trust eac
After 4 years of playing this game I’ve been perfectly fine with the settings. Right when the new servers and the first big download came the settings for controller and console players are completely messed up. I’m a competitive pvper for console and the sniping is so much more challenging now because the joystick sensitivity is now completely messed up. Your movements are up down left and right instead of one direction going diagonally or trying to do a circle on your screen. Please fix these setting issues ASAP, it’s bothering every console player on controller that is on high sensitivity.
I do hope it actually works on proton... Or that might be it for my pirateering.
First time in a while that I am super happy with the coming update. If it all goes smoothly with the bug fixes, I will see this patch as better than any new season with the fix of the keyboard and mouse on xbox as well as the anti cheat.

Thinking about it... Took them a while from the announcement of anti-cheat to now, just for them to go with EAC. Were there plans for something custom or more robust that didn't work out?
Les go 1 week with no cheaters. No hate is nice yall try to make the game better but everyone knows cheaters allways find a way to cheat
On a side note, I’m also so glad they’re reducing the amount of times skeleton ships attack. A couple weeks ago I was solo slooping and I got attacked by skeleton sloops five times in just a single hour. Sure, easy loot and all but I was already fed up with it when I could barely go Island to island without being attacked.

My friends and I call that getting "Rared". The game recently spawned the kraken, skellie sloop and meg on me at once, was very appreciative the kraken caught the skellie ship too so I was able to sail away...far enough so I could deal with the meg. Took out the meg and skellie, then grabbed the loot. As soon as I moved, another skellie sloop spawned on me, and I was also solo. Quite infuriating yes when all I wanted to do was chill but hey, it got me up to guild emissary lvl 5 really quick :)

And when are they going to fix the achievements that are unavailable in the game or is the arena mode going to return to unlock them because I want to leave this game at 100% and I haven't been able to because of the arena achievements😢
Unfortunately theres nothing Rare can do about the Arena achievements, thats a Microsoft issue!

You should add pipe smoking. So you can buy pipes with your figureheads on it and blow out different smoke figures. That would be so cool

I am a solo player and will never play safer seas until its made fully equivalent. I shouldnt be punished for refusing to be gamer-troll bait and having no friends to play with is bad enough already as is. I give up, no hope, your out of touch, this Games just dead TO ME. Love you guys but think its time for a new map and sequel VS trying to salvage what once was great! In the sequel I promise it fails if you do not change the involuntary PVP aspect. Fun should never be at another players expense. This is why none of my friends play the current game anymore. Anti cheats is great just far too little too late. The community ruined any chance I trust to play alongside them.(Toxic) They take no personal responsibility even in their behavior towards others and instead blame things like the word pirate or thief. My Audio still just decides not to work 4 or 5 years in. I reinstalled for 2 days and uninstalled. I was just bored to death. I cant get the storyline down bc of lengths and interruptions. You make it easier just not to play. Why not punish the punks with 30% gold rates. Anything I have left like Athena is not allowed on safer seas so its entirely useless to most solo players. The fact RARE tries to trick people into playing as bait for their content creators is nothing aside DISGUSTING. Yeah come on in PS5 says the community, we will ruin the gamebwithin your first weekm just gross people act this way in a shared online world. Sociopaths ruined this game entirely alongside the devs allowing and even partnering with those very sick individuals. What do you expect when take 1 person side over 100s of others. Soubds like a recipe to kill your own game and have it gatekept by toxic trolls. Biggest dissappointment as this was once my favorite game ever made.
Safer sea sucks.
Just play high seas. Use a captained ship so you can sell treasure really fast. Dive to the start of your voyages. Sell treasure often. Repeat.
Safer seas is a waste of time except for non-instanced tall tales and fishing Battlegills and Stormfishes and maybe if you’re a brand new player just starting out.

The amount of cheaters I've come across in hourglass pvp I'd say is more frequent than in Tarkov and that says alot :X

I’ve always wanted to play this game. I saw so many TH-cam videos and was so hyped I bought it for PC. Then found out it doesn’t run on my pc. So I said to myself that this goes to the developers for bringing something good out 🙂
But if it’s coming to ps5, then I’m looking forward to it. Well when the price drops because I’ve already bought the game for pc haha
Anyways, thanks for the update and thanks for letting people with Xbox and pc know about a larger download. Things like this are important to let us know about so beforehand so we are not surprised 😉

@@liquidvitriol4363because it can be very intrusive. Some (if not most) kernel level anti cheats require that they boot up with your pc and stay active even if the game isn’t running. I’m assuming that isn’t happening here though.

@@liquidvitriol4363 proprietary software running in kernel space has access to everything in your computer, read memory, read disks, transmit network traffic without your knowledge. It can also become an attack vector with malware exploiting it to run it's own code in kernel space doing everything listed above.

Rare focuses more on updating the store than fixing the game. If they put as much effort into fixing the issues than adding more cosmetics then hackers would be gone.

The last update messed up deadzones and response curve values on Xbox, so now it's impossible to make small aim adjustments when aiming down sites........but nah it's cool we have more pirate emporium items 😬
