My TX22 was very fickle initially despite so many people saying to eats anything. After 300+ rounds it’s finally working well. Expect the odd stove pipe and routine failures to feed until the gun is broken in. Thereafter, you can test what ammo works best. Don’t jump to conclusions too soon.
You are exactly right. First time with my TX22, shooting 200 rounds. Three boxes of copper, flat 'hollow points' and one box of round lead. Had three Failure to Feeds with the flat hollow points which caught on the bottom of the feed ramp. NO problem with the round lead. Round tipped ammo for my TX22 from now on.
I'm not sure hollow points are going fast enough out of the TX22 to expand anyway, but, I have found out the same with my TX22. CCI 40gr round nose works 99.99% of the time.
I had REALLY BAD leading issues with the M22, sent it back to Winchester but haven't heard back. the TX22 and Tracker had lead dripping out the muzzle and both as well as a Ruger Mark IV showed lead metal vapor deposits on breech and bolt faces! By chance my annual lead level was done soon after, came back 31!! Doctor had to review with me my exposure causes and I will have to have repeat levels done, if remains high I will have to see a specialist!
I so far hate my tx22. Non stop failure to feed. Tried cleaning, dry lube, making sure the spring isnt too tight, on both mags. Gonna try new ammo to see if that helps. I was using the remmington gold bullets and the bullets spin in the casing. Beautiful lmao
Check your magazines make sure the rounds are facing upwards like they're supposed to be you might want to spray a little oil on your magazines to let the ammo slide through easier because mine has not really jammed except on a certain type of ammo and I figured it out it was the magazine and I've watched other people's videos and they said the same thing and the other day I just got a 16 round magazine and it was new and I had a couple of issues out of 300 rounds so that's good odds but after it got a little gunpowder on it it started working fine
Remington Thunder Bolt gets a bad rap, but in my GSG it is flawless! May not always be the most consistent in velocity but feeds flawlessly in my gun. When I was able to buy 500 rounds for $20 it was a good choice. Just my 2 Cents.
CCI runs perfectly in my TX22. It runs all ammo well I've had no issues in two different TX22 s. Seems like we have a different opinion. That's alright. Incidentally , I've fired upwards of ten thousand rounds thru one of the TX 22 s, the other is new and has maybe 1000 rounds . Both required a break-in period before they ran 100%.200 rounds or so for break-in.
Just finished up 4 200 shots from my TX22. In a first 250-300 shots, multiple feeding issues. After that: zero feeding issues with with ANY ammo! Also, many misfires with Federal Automatch due to bad quality of this ammo - like almost empty shells etc. Hate them. Plus, this was horribly dirty. Absolutely worst ammo for TX22. I tried all you show here and much more - Federal bulk blue bricks, CCI Stingers, Blazers, Federal Punch, Remington Thunderbolts, all types of Aguilla, Norma etc. My conclusion: TX22 will feed every ammo absolutely fine IF you clean them every time, including CLIPS(!!!) Yes, TX22 MAGAZINES MUST BE KEPT CLEAN in order for them to work reliably. Clean TX22 will shoot ANY ammo just fine. CLEAN! I have 6 magazines and can clearly see serious signs of wear inside of them. Will probably replace them after another 2K - 5K (will see).

Because of the magazines I haven't had any problems with any other ammo I am up to like 4,000 rounds through my pistol now

My TX22 runs the Winchester hollow points just fine in fact it runs every 22 ammo that I've ever put through it but mine's well broken in
My TX22 chokes on Remington GB - had 16 failures from one 50 round box! Loves Federal.

Your gun might be one of the ones that needs the new barrel. Some early units have feeding problems. Call the service department.
I use CCI Mini-Mag..22LR. Works perfect! Round nose cop[per plated.

Mine has over 2000 rounds it shoots any ammo a hat I put in it NO FAILURES
Mine shoots any kind of ammo you should try to take apart your mag and clean it
Is there any possible tool or jig that one could use to round out the tip of the winchester, like a pencil sharpener.
Buy different ammo, that’s the tool.
