If you are running low on cash and want to avoid all of the charges affiliated with an ATM machine, head to the casino. Use your card to log onto a slot machine and transfer $50 from your account (usually off you credit card) and then "cash out." Take your ticket to the cashier and cash it out.

These are great tips! I will add that if one does book an excursion through a third party, to be mindful it is at their own discretion. If there are any delays or hiccups, the cruise line will not be held responsible and has no obligation to wait for you to return to the ship.

Norwegian offers solo cruiser get togethers each evening and has a host to arrange dinner and show reservations for solo travelers.

Gratuities aren't really tips; they are really service fees to make the advertised cruise fare lower than the actual cost of a cruise. Some cruise lines and cruises out of some countries include gratuities, port fees, and taxes in the advertised price. Also, it is always a good tip to use a good travel agent whether independent or a cruise line agent; they have information and help not available booking through a website.

That’s just ASKING for trouble, right?! We’re less than 2 hours from our port (driving) and I’m still not sure about driving in the same day. Last time I drove this route to go to a show in the same town, we were late cause of a car accident. I just can’t get over it happening again!!

one problem with flying in the day before, at least with Royal, we can't get their transportation form the airport, even though we are staying at their hotel near the airport. We had to get our own transportation.
