People might underestimate him because of his commercial films, but after hearing this interview, it’s clear Rohit Shetty has a deeper understanding of cinema and the audience than most.
In an industry where everyone’s pretending to be something they’re not, Rohit Shetty stands out for being unapologetically himself. That’s the true mark of a leader.
His honesty about the ups and downs of his career makes him even more relatable. It’s not all glitz and glamour, and that’s why he’s respected by so many.
Bollywood could use more interviews like this - where directors speak their mind without any filter. Rohit Shetty just showed how you can be successful and authentic.
You'll find honest and authentic podcasts from Hindi Cinema only, chhapri south cinema only pretends to be humble on screen - rest is their arrogance and fakeness. South filmmakers can't even take criticism, ex : MARTIN (third class Kannada film) blocked every video that spoke negative specially of Shan Prasher, Suraj Kumar & Jammy Pants
Rohit Shetty’s journey isn’t just about success; it’s about staying grounded, learning from mistakes, and always pushing forward. That’s the kind of leadership this industry needs.
Rohit Shetty’s honesty is a breath of fresh air in an industry that’s all about image-building. It’s rare to see someone so open and real, especially in Bollywood.
All of his movies that he's made till date have made their mark in Bollywood just because people expect more now doesn't mean he's making mediocre movies, he's still the same and infact, better
A lot of directors get caught up in expectations and criticism, but Rohit Shetty just keeps doing his thing, and that’s why his films keep hitting the mark.
After hearing this interview, it’s clear why his films have such massive appeal - it’s not just the action, it’s his sincerity and his understanding of what the audience wants.
Hope this reaches Rohit sir 🙏 *Singham played by Ajay Devgn was in itself a very Powerful character. It did not need help of 4 other cops. *Had you spent the money you wasted on Deepika & Tiger's fees, to buy original Singham BGM from tseries, this film would have been much better. *Even though the film was hit, but we all know Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with much small budget earned almost the same which proves that my final point- *People nowadays dont care about actors. They go in for the story and the entertainment proposition
I still remember. When All The Best was released the buzz was on top for 'Blue'. Our college group had planned to watch 'Blue' in theatre. We all reached the theatre on Sunday and found all 'Blue' shows booked. We were sad and thought when we have come all the way till here, let's not return and watch 'All The Best'. We watched it and it was truly a blast for us. We all were literally ROFLing in the theatre. It was a really memorable day. I can still rewatch 'All The Best' any day.
Hasn't even cross 200 crore till now. Even after all the corporate bookings. Budget is 350 crores. To break even they need to cross 300 cr net in India.
@@str7413Budget is 250 Crores. Collections are counted World Wide plus movie s verdict upon price sold to distributors plus other revenue generation. Ok so it has collected more than 200 crores before release and after bo collection it is already a Hit. Though not a Blockbuster
Rohit Shetty is very honest person. Thats why he is one of my fav director. Secondly, maybe his films are not critically acclaimed then. But his films like, Singham, Golmal, All The Best, Chennai Express, Simba are blockbusters and loved by audiences. Because he made films for families.
Rohit Shetty Does Not: (Read all 6 points) 1. Accept he makes average films and keeps complaining about budget. 2. Accept he works with average actors like Tiger and Arjun. Tiger is still good human, Arjun is full of himself. 3. Accept that he appeases the social and political climate. Singham 1 was against crime and extortionists, Singham 2 was against black money, Simba was against Rape, Sooryavanshi was against Terrorism. Indian Police Force with Siddharth Malhotra was against Terrorism again with Good Muslim bad muslim debate. 4. Accept that in Singham 3 he just tried to appease the current political climate and tried to earn money in name of Ramayana 5. Accept that in his cop universe it's all about brawn and nothing about brain. The characters are just joking, dancing, fighting, and doing comedy but hardly there is any serious brainstorming detective kind of content. 6. Accept that he keeps repeating same actors for different roles. Like Singham's Shiva was Defense Lawyer in Simba. Journalist in Singham returns was judge in Simba. Rapist in Simba was police officer in Sooryavanshi. And In Singham Again, Chulbul Pandey who danced with Kareena Kapoor in Dabaang 2 in Fevicol Se is talking to Singham whose wife is Avni also played by Kareena Kapoor.
And he does not admit the fact most of his recent work including SIngham again was full of VFX and not real locations but yet in this interview he said that he shot in real locations. And how added salman's cameo at the last moment, probably shot it in big boss set lol!! Atleast bring the dabaang mustache.
People often talk about his films being formulaic, but hearing him talk about the craft behind them shows that there’s so much more depth than people realize.
The best part about this interview is how grounded he remains. Despite his success, he still talks about failure and learning with the same passion as when he started out.
Some directors get too caught up in the glitz and glamour, but Rohit Shetty is just focused on making movies that connect with audiences. That’s his real power.
It was such an honest podcast. Koi hullarbaji nahi, jabardasti ka thitholi nahi, abusive roast nahi.. Just plain, simple, honest podcast. Thanks Bibhu and DC for bringing real Rohit out to world.
There’s something so genuine about Rohit Shetty. He’s not just talking about films; he’s talking about life, growth, and staying true to your roots. That’s what makes him a real icon.
One of the best directors...i absolutely love the way he is so calm and composed....and he knows he has seen a lot...Nd everything is a phase...i just whole heartedly love him and his films...my mother rarely remembers the movie name or scenes but she remembered whole singham movie till date...u can just imagine what a work he has created for the families nowadays....
Watching that interview, I’ve gained so much more respect for him. He’s not just a director who makes blockbusters; he’s a man with a vision and a heart that matches it.
Rohit Shetty isn’t just a director; he’s an institution. The fact that he’s able to speak so honestly about his journey makes him stand out in a way few can match.
Rohit Shetty is currently sitting on a goldmine by having two of the most iconic characters of bollywood Chulbul Pandey and Singham . If he's able to present them in their original avatar then it could do some serious wonders
My fav rohit shetty movies are golmaal 3 1 2, singham, chennai express, All the best where stories are the real heroes. I think people expect connected scenes in story.
Bollywood’s big directors usually have this larger-than-life image, but Rohit Shetty has managed to stay grounded while still delivering at the highest level. That says a lot about his character.

Thank you for introducing Lady Singham... about time we have a full on women oriented cop film.
Completely agreed! Can't wait to see Deepika in that role in her own movie
Wrong casting choice though. Deepika was terrible.
