    awesome an the little areas where the paint play are great. Nothing in nature is perfect and this all adds to the appeal of the work. I love your tutorials an yup joining the club next week :-). I did buy the huanted house this week an itching to do that one once my current work is done. I am in love with silhouette style paintings and Halloween so the Haunted house was a win win lol

    Is this a new camera angle? Can't see Sarah's tray, so I didn't know if she is mixing the colors on her tray or just adding them straight to the paper and letting them mix there.

    Sarah, how much violet are you mixing with the green/blue? The camera didn't quite catch how you mixed up all the colors! :)

    • @gabriellewestcott4097
      @gabriellewestcott4097 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Elisa Bruxvoort I’m wondering this too. There were a number of points where I wished we could see what was happening on her palette.

    • @elisabruxvoort2190
      @elisabruxvoort2190 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gabriellewestcott4097 I feel like usually they're pretty good about showing us the palette so we can see how she's mixing the colors, but maybe the camera was just zoomed in more than normal! :)

    I don't have sea blue. What can I mix to get a color similar to it? I have tried ultramarine, then cerulean, which makes me realize that I'll probably need a different type of blue and some sort of green to get this gorgeous sea blue.

    Hi! Can you plz plz plz plz make a horse? I know you did the unicorn but I think it would be cool for have a different coat color this time. (Bay, chestnut, palomino, pinto, etc) most of the watercolor tutorials aren’t narrated, and when they are, they aren’t what I’m looking for. I just love your style of watercolor! Please consider 🙂

    • @LetsMakeArt
      @LetsMakeArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We will add those to our request list. Until then though Sarah did a smaller postcard version of a horse earlier last year in one of her Let's Make Art Matter projects if this helps. www.letsmakeart.com/blogs/make-art-matter/lets-make-art-matter-for-linden-from-wisconsin

    Just started with Let's Make Art. Did pretty well with the lemons. This one turned into a disaster. We're you using straight violet or mixing. Also, maybe I'm going about this the wrong way, but if you could slow down about half a beat, it would be incredibly helpful. I have to keep backing up and pausing.

    • @LetsMakeArt
      @LetsMakeArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Straight violet when dropping in with the green to create the black color. Sorry to hear it was a bit fast. Hopefully it is better on our next video. Until then the spacebar or pause button are a big help.

    I love your work and find it so helpful in learning watercolor. I'd love to sell some of my work as tote bags to friends and maybe on local fairs. Would it be okay if I'd sell my rendition of this beetle as well? (I'm based in the Netherlands). I have no idea how copyright works if you paint something based on a tutorial, so I thought it would be best to ask the creator :)

    Ugh. Mine looks like a bleeding mess! I have no idea how your getting such dark but distinct colors mine are all bleeding together and leaving weird water drying patterns with darkness only pooling at the edges of the water drop dry spots and the legs! Don’t get me started on those blobs!

    • @LetsMakeArt
      @LetsMakeArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Rachel! Totally normal for things to look a little funky. It might be too much water, but it might also be how quickly you're applying layers. This video called for wet on wet, but you might try wet on dry to get a little more control.

    Well, this turned into a disaster. The purple got away from me and invaded. Then I accidentally swiped my pinky across it. I continued for practice - knowing I was going to be redoing the piece. Hopefully the next attempt will be better.
