Watching your video I really had the sense of going back in time, not a single sound of a modern shop. The magnets threw me off a little though. Nice job and a thumbs up.

I’m new to woodworking and was wondering what kind of plane that was you were using at the 6:50 mark to route out the space for the foam.

Thats a great looking fly box and thx for the video. If you could be so kind, what is the thickness of your top and bottom? where did you find hinges and the magnet? and what kind of oil did you use? Beautiful craftsmanship with hand tools, love it.

Nice work! Where did you source the foam from?

Peterdrex thank you, it was a fun project, I got the foam in a 10 pack bundle from Amazon. I had to cut it down to the size I wanted and it wasn’t very sticky so I epoxied it in.

do you know the name of that planner? I've been looking for a similar one and can't find it anywhere!

Looks like a Veritas router plane, not 100% sure, but very traditional, you could just use a palm router... but I think the beauty of this video was that he did it all with hand tools.

Nice video. What type of camera and file format do you use. it looks like you're shooting in 4k or more.

Should have used the Dewalt, it would have been a shorter video?

have to admit turned out not bad one thing though is there a reason you didn't put hinges inside the box so not visable .
