Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 I've just found your channel and I'm so pleased there's no narration, only the sound of a craftsman working with wood and his tools, thank you for that. I enjoy watching Epic Upcycling and the craftsman works the same as you(, occasionally music in the background not overpowering), there is no narration just the relaxing sounds of a craftsman, and therapeutic benefits.
Those rings are amazing. I would never have thought that this is how such rings are constructed. This method of building a tension ring out of wood is highly unexpected and creative.

Watching this process has been enlightening. Thank you for showing this. Especially some of the self-made tools you use. I had never considered the things that could be made simply to hold things steady while working.
That is a lovely piece of work. And properly cared for that bucket will last lifetimes. I'm impressed how well it held water immediately. That's great attention to detail.

Jipie jahey, endlich ein vernünftiges Video. Möchte schon seit längerem einen Eimer rein aus Holz herstellen und wusste bis heute noch nicht ganz wie ich das anstellen soll. Dank dir lacht nun mein Tischlerherz. Danke =)
Great video! My dad and I demonstrated making wooden buckets at the Ohio State Fair for a dozen years or so, along with other wooden vessels like mugs, piggins, trays, … . We used a few less in the way of power tools (chain saw for felling trees and cutting logs), so a lot more work, and a lot more wood waist. We also did not steam our bands, we used fresh white oak logs and relied on their flexibility. Again, great to see your work.
I don't know what's more amazing, the fact that you did it, or that you managed to squeeze the whole process into a 20 minute video. It would be a good watch if it was an hour too.
This makes me want to become your apprentice. At the age of 58. True craftsmanship, something decent to be genuinely proud of. I’m a lawyer, so I know what I’m talking about. I do do something not to be proud of.
I wish more TH-camrs who call themselves woodcrafters would watch this video. This is what true woodcraft looks like-craftsmanship at its finest. Many out there rely heavily on machines, CNC technology, and other powerful tools, but this is a reminder of the skill and artistry that come from working with your hands and mastering the basics.
Yeah its easy to get cought up, I need to have this to do Y or that to do Z. All the while, this guy simply devises a groove cutter for the bottom of barrels on his own, what a champion.
@@Musicpins The tool he made resembles a "Croze" Plane used by Coopers, probably as rare as hen's teeth. The fact he made one himself shows me he is a proper craftsman.

Vielen Dank für diese absolut beeindruckend Arbeit, das aufzeigen der handwerklichen Leistung und das teilhaben lassen an diesem großartigen Herstellungsprozess. Dankeschön.
the fact that you steamed and straightened the ash bands before planing them in order to straighten and align the grain instead of cutting across the grain just a little by planing the wood flat across its natural twist is my kind of perfectionism. 👌
This is so cool. Seeing those hundreds of wood shavings on the ground and realizing that they each represent a pass of the blade goes to show how much work you put into it. I respect you for all the effort put into this, not to mention the amazing editing
It's fascinating to see where you draw the lines between classical and modern. No judgements, just interesting. Amazing work! I'm jealous of ALL of your craftsmanship. Having had a partial amputation of three fingers with powertools in a moment of lapse attention, that draw knife terrifies me.
