The Def Leppard similarities are probably why I like Ghost so much, I was 12 when Hysteria was released and I’ve played that for the past 37 years, daughter wanted to go to a Ghost concert 5 years ago and tbh I didn’t know much about Ghost but they helped me get through Covid and loved the fact that Joe sang Spillways with Tobias 🙌🙌

So, this song essentially closes out the first (instrumental) track on this album. They go very well together.

oh does it now? Once I've discover the full album I definitely need to personally go back and listen to the whole album in one go I think

@@scrupypov yeah, one of the main themes of the album is the cyclical rise and fall of empires, the first track, Imperium, is an instrumental track that simulates a nostalgic and triumphant anthem. Respite, with its use of Jack the Ripper imagery, inevitable demise, deception and dread reuses Imperium at the end to accentuate that cyclical nature of empires/life/eras

So the album (Impera) is about the rise and fall of empires, and this song being the closing song of the album is partly about the fall of the empire. The final part where it fades out matches the opening track (Imperium) on the album, which reflects the cyclic nature of empires rising and falling. As a song by itself, Respite on the Spitalfields is also about Jack the Ripper and the terror he inflicted without ever being caught.
A heavier song from Impera that still has some very interesting sound choices is Twenties. I'll be honest, it's a divisive song for some of the Ghost fandom, and you would probably know why after hearing it. Watcher in the Sky is one of the heavier tracks from Impera, as well. From the previous album (if you haven't already heard it) is Faith, which is quite a banger live.

That's quite a cool concept of everything going back around the same circles and such. Ohhh, I didn't realise it was about the Jack the ripper.
Weirdly I just recorded that today after being ill for a week lol, but as I'm playing catch up with everything it may be a week or so before the Twenties reaction comes out. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll add it to the list!

Respite Of The Spitalfields is one of my favorite tracks by Ghost from the past few years (especially when it’s paired with the track before it on the album, Bite of Passage) I’m super happy it’s getting recognition even if I’m only seeing it months after the fact

I had to look this up, are you saying "unsure of what to say, think, or do" or are you saying it as in "paying for subs, views or comments" because I have no idea as it came up with both when i looked this up
