      I'm glad it was helpful! Enjoy the papers! I hope more manufacturers go in a similar direction.

    What an outstanding review. All of their papers are tops, but there are too many to navigate on a budget. Much appreciated!

    Interesting how much there is to know about paper!! Love that tree image. Feels like your surrounded by it.

      Before photography I worked for 20 years as a graphic designer / art director and paper was a major aspect of that career too. I guess it's a continuum.

    Thanks, Keith. I have to say I was surprised by how deep the blacks were on these papers, as my initial thought was that textured papers could not possibly provide rich dark tones. I'm happy to say I was wrong, and plan to try a couple of the Natural Line papers soon. I hope you will offer a second video in future to further explore this line of papers.

      Thanks Bob -- yes they have some kind of undetectable coating that helps the inks hold sharpness and contrast. I did notice some of the sheets had tiny flecks in them similar to what you might see in recycled papers. I do plan to do more videos in the future based around these papers in the near future. Thanks for watching!

    Great review Keith and we've exchanged views on these papers. And your point about the papers being environmentally correct, 100% agree.

      Thank you! That was made on Edisto Island outside Charleston, South Carolina. An abundance of great trees there.

    Thanks for the very informative video Keith. I hope you don't mind me asking...from what I can see, all these papers appear to be on the 'warmish' side (possibly my screen). Which one would you consider to have the brightest white? Anyway, keep up your great photography and vids.

      Hey, thanks Geoff! I think you're reading that quite correctly. All of these papers are "natural white" with no optical brightening agents, so they do have a yellowish base. According to Hahnemuhle's spec sheets, Sugar Cane is 83.5% white, Agave is 89% white, Hemp is 89% white, and Bamboo is 83% white. Those values match what I would have assumed, although Sugar Cane seemed almost as bright as Agave to my eye. Bamboo is definitely more yellow than the others.

    How do the natural fiber paper compare to their traditional paper in cost?

    • @Keithdotson
      @Keithdotson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      All Hahnemühle paper is very expensive compared to other brands, but I did a quick search of Photo Rag cotton paper and Agave paper and they were roughly the same price.

    Can these papers be used for alternative printing like Platinum/Palladium printing?

    • @Keithdotson
      @Keithdotson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so because they have a special invisible inkjet coating that helps them maintain the contrast and sharpness, however, I know that Hahnemuhle offers a range of artist's papers that would probably work for you -- maybe even the exact same papers without the coating.
